He wasn't the best in the NFL, but he was a lot better than people thought. He did not get a fair chance, and he'd dominate in today's NFL which is built for mostly hybrid/mobile QBs. The NFL was just scared of mobile QBs 10 years ago. Don't forget his playoff run with Denver. AS A ROOKIE. No one is doing that to Pittsburgh with Big Ben in his prime, and as a ROOKIE. But Tebow is definitely the GOAT college QB and GOAT college football player. I don't think that needs debate. Peace.

In terms of intangibles and mentality he was a 10/10 but with physical talent or skill he was definitely not “great”.
He was an NFL bust. But in college? He's the GOAT

The Shawshank Inception I’m not an Alabama fan but I’ve noticed during the BCS era or mainly the Saban era if Alabama doesn’t make the national championship they seem to lose their bowl game
Waterman217 70 Yeah, as a Bama fan it’s kind of a bad habit/mental situation on the team. Those boys play for National Championship trophies not bowl games. If they play for a meaningless bowl game they’ll most likely be unmotivated.
Obi-Wan Kenobi oh man I know Alabama is a different sort of monster lol as a Tennessee fan I hope Pruitt can bring that mentality with him and have us competing with Bama in the future. I’m not a huge Bama fan but I respect saban and what he’s done so they’ve kinda grown on me to the point I root for them in every game they play (because I want an SEC team to win it all and usually Bama is the best chance) except of course when they play Tennessee but I know it’s gonna be a while until my vols beat them lol
That was my consolation prize for LSU not getting to the national championship that season.

Yep. Under Saban they've won the Independence bowl against Colorado to have a winning record, lost to Utah in the sugar bowl after losing the defacto semifinal game, won a natty over Texas, won the outback bowl against Michigan State, won a natty over LSU, won a natty over Notre Dame, lost to Oklahoma in the sugar bowl after a crazy ending with Auburn derailed a 3rd straight natty, lost to OSU in the 1st playoffs, and then have either won or played in every natty game since. The outback bowl against a clearly inferior Michigan State was the only consolation prize Alabama actually went out and won since the dynasty got started.
“Crabtree pulls free” Is one of the most iconic calls of all time man still gives me chill and I’m not even a Texas tech fan
Texas Tech made it all the way to #2 before finally losing to OU... What an incredible run by the Red Raiders. I’d give anything to see them make that kind of run again

Thanks for letting me relive one of my favorite Florida seasons. As much as Tebow was the spotlight on that team, he had one of the best defenses in college football on the other side of the ball and of course Percy Harvin carving up the field as well as the Pouncey twins up front who are both still dominating in the NFL. The entire team was stacked with future stars.... even the ill-fated Aaron Hernandez. Florida hasn't come close to putting together a squad like that since. They get some top tier talent, but never across the board like that. Most people don't know they even had Cam Newton sitting on the sidelines with that team (at least most of the year).
Also, living in West Virginia, there was no man hated as much as Rich Rodriguez for abandoning the Mountaineers. Everyone was so happy to see him fail.
It's definitely been rough since Tebow left 😅 I never thought we lose to vandy in my lifetime or georgia southern
My local team, USF was in the the top 10 in week 6, let that sink in

As a Sooner fan even though we lost in the natty while Demarco Murray was hurt, this is still probably my favorite season of college football in my lifetime. I'm 26 and have seen every snap since 2000. 2008 was an absolute Rollercoaster

I remember staying up late watching the end of the Texas-Texas Tech game in my room and screaming really loud when Tech took the lead accidentally waking up my parents in the process
BTW Lloyd Carr retired at the end of the 2007 and the Rich Rodriguez Wolverines was the worst team I have ever watched,
As a Michigan fan, this is when the disappointment began
To be honest, I woke up the whole neighborhood with my screams of joy
That was the only other time that Tech students went batshit crazy. The other time recently being when Tech went to the men’s national championship in basketball.

Aw man. I'm getting old. I graduated HS in 08. Pretty memorable year for college football. This channel is amazing. So many memories playing football ball Friday night and watching football all day Saturday. I don't think I ever truly appreciated those times until now.
Love all your videos man, but this one is special. That year was one of the best college football seasons ever. I remember it like was yesterday. I replay it all the time on my PS2 NCAA football 08 game. Good times bro

Man watching these vids brings back memories. I remember watching this game live and what Crabtree did. I remember USC vs Texas championship, Oklahoma loss to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl and so many more from the 90s to now. Good times

This is cool bro I've watched your 2007 video, that's the year I truly started watching college football religiously I loved watching Graham Harril and Michael Crabtree, I remember those Mizzou Kansas Chase McDaniels Todd Reesing showdowns from back then too.

I’ve been asking, and you delivered. Thanks for finally covering this year, where the only team to stay undefeated were my Utes. Plus we beat some legit teams to get there. Your Broncos were great, too, as usual-but the resume was a bit weaker.
I wish the Utes could’ve sustained this level like BSU, but the transition to the PAC has been bumpy.

I quit my job at a Norman car wash the morning of the OU vs Texas Tech game because I wanted to go pregame for that game. And boy was it worth it. That game will forever stay with me and the night of it as well. OU Skull dragged em and pretty much secured a spot in the Natty. By far one of the best college football years in history.

2008 Big 12 race was crazy. Not to mention the trio of Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow was fun. Imagine if there was a playoff back in ‘08. You had a possibility of 3 teams from the same conference AND division battling for it
Man the Big 12 was amazing in 2008, I remember watching OU lose to Florida at my friends house and everyone being so pissed
Pat White and Steve Slaton was the best Duo !!! OMG.... KTO this year was Golden. Glenn Coffee carried Alabama on his back, Florida was loaded with Talent, Louisville was still unstoppable when they wore all black at home, Jeremy Maclin was as dangerous as Reggie Bush, the upsets were still epic, Oregon’s Read option was ridiculously good. I could go on. I’m glad you do this series

I can’t wait for the 2019 video, only because of Cincinnati. I grew up watching Mardy Gilyard, Tony Pike and Isaiah Pead. They were an awesome team to watch and only lost to Florida in Tebow’s last season.

i remember this year so vividly as a 13 year old.. of course as a Michigan fan it was dreadful, but seeing Tebow compete back in the day was truly amazing not to even mention Bradford. Watching Tech beat Texas on a last second touchdown had me soooo hyped. Pat White was stupid good in college. Utah pulling off an amazing victory which still leads the way to consistent top 25 finishes. 2008 will prolly never be topped again. How good teams were back then will never be matched again.
That half time tebow speech still gives me goose bumps. Go Gators!!

In his first 10 seasons with OU, Bob Stoops competed in all six major bowls (BCS title game 4x, orange bowl, rose bowl, fiesta bowl 2x, sugar bowl, and the cotton bowl) in all of those games, he only won the 2000 national title/orange bowl, 2001 cotton bowl, and 2002 rose bowl.
After that, Oklahoma has pretty much choked on the big stage, losing to LSU in the 03 natty/sugar bowl, getting Molly whopped by USC in the 04 natty/orange bowl, and coming up a few big plays short to Florida in 08 natty.
Can we appreciate how legendary he is/was? In the 2010-11 season Bob Stoops got his first fiesta bowl win after coming up short twice, and in the final year of the BCS system, he led a rag tag OU squad over a MASSIVE title contender Alabama in an all time sugar bowl classic to be the only coach to win all five major new years bowls (I don’t count the peach bowl bc it wasn’t as big throughout the bcs system until after 2010) and the BCS title game! What an accomplishment.

I love your take on these subjects. You take a look at different headlines, subjects players, you put EVERYTHING into account. Just one question, ever though about maybe 12-14 minute videos? I would love to hear you elaborate a little bit more on certain subjects. Next video you should talk about the FCS, interesting teams there that beat Big Division 1 teams. Anyways good shit as always.
I remember Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech being great in 2008, but I forgot Oklahoma State was in the mix for a while as well. That Big 12 South was what the SEC West is today.

Love your channel, just a small thing with this video, I understand the ads but I'd rather have them at the beginning and get them over with than at the end. I've always liked at the end of the videos with the music, just hearing that beat until the end while you take him the final scene of the video which is always a memorable moment or play. Having the ad come up kind of ruins the moment for me. What you decide to do, I'll keep watching your videos because they're fantastic.
