I shed tears at the moment with Shadis and Magat. Two old warriors who raised a new generation of heroes on both sides of the sea. Both died as legends, no matter what!
Shadis eventually became, in a sense, the "chosen one" he wanted to be during his youth in the Scouts. But he sacrificed himself not for the sake of being "special", but because he decided to once again give his heart to the Scouts and all of humanity and do what he thought was right, just like his students. Now I understand why Hanji admired Shadis and was even secretly in love with him when she first joined the Scouts. He is no longer a bystander, and never has been. He is one of the saviors of the world and a true scout, who brought up the entire 104 cadet corps and even Erwin, Hanji and Levi, while he was their commander in the scouts. All Scout Commanders are outstanding people, and CHADis is no exception.
And Magat was finally able to admit to himself that his students were the most important people in his life for him and he always wished them happiness, which we could see in his behavior from the very first episode with his participation. And despite the fact that Magat made many mistakes in his life and did not always act of his own free will, often following only the orders of the leadership with which he did not agree, he also died doing what he thought was right. He decided to stay, knowing that it was suicide. Sacrificed himself, although he could have ordered any of the Eldians from Marley to do it instead of him. As a general, he sometimes sent Eldians to certain death, but he himself went to death without hesitation to save both Marley, the world, and his Eldian disciples. The Marlian who can really be respected.

And people are still cheering for Eren to trample the world ... These two died like ABSOLUTE legends and heroes, Keith, a former survey corps commander, did not accept the rumbling and killed the Jeagerists to save innocent people, people he does not know. Magath, the general of the Marleyan army, admitted he was wrong for involving children in war, and stayed behind to sacrifice himself so that his comrades save the world, NOT Marley because it is already destroyed, but the world, including people he does not know.
Oh my god finally a sane person. Many times i keep seeing fans cheering on for the destruction of what is a large proportion of humanity. Yes they we're gonna do the same thing but when your way basically screws the ecosystem in the process all you're doing is making way to inherit a ruined earth

This is really one of the most moving scenes in the whole series to me. These two old men who raised a generation of children, who became heroes, expressing how proud they are, and how much they wish they could have lived better lives. They bonded over it, and gained respect for eachother, and became friends in their last moments (if you wanna go that far) Shadis and Magath are really great characters, this was the perfect send off for both of them.

@@danypostika5175 I know, right? Instead of condemning war and needless killing they take sides or condone genocide.
Kill your brethren, prove your enemy that you are a good friend.
@@vasile-vladivanovici9430 Nah dude, you're wrong . First of all , at previous episode we saw how Magath was literally behaving like Gabi and still hates the eldians. He even brings back the 2000 year old eldia titan domination thing to the campfire. And as we know Magath did say that and make Jean mad and all the other scouts too. Magath only finally realized that the marley and eldians are the same only after that episode . So that means if he never teamed up with the scouts and if Gabi never begs for help from the scouts , I think Magath will still think that Paradis is still devils. And do note that it even takes a whole episode for Magath to change his perspective on the Paradis. So if you want the whole world to change their perspective on Paradis. It would likely never happened considering there's no way to gather up the whole world and try to talk no jutsu our way to make sure everyone thinks the paradis are not devils.😶

I really wish we could have gotten more of Magath and Shadis together. They are like the same person from two different worlds.
shadis really went from a training arc character to probably one of the most fleshed out character in the series
Even if it was short-lived, this needs to go down as one of those epic anime bromances! There was a energy to it! I wouldn't have mind 2-3 scenes of back-2-back fighting their way into the ship first.
I think Magath would’ve been great in the fight against Eren and the Rumbling, despite not having Titan shifting abilities or ODM gear training, he and Armin could’ve co-commanded, especially since Magath knew a lot about the Rumbling, but he knew he had to die here since his duty was fulfilled and he realized how he weaponized children and killed thousands by not warning people about Eren’s attack on Liberio. Magath will be an underrated character always
These two went out in the most beautiful way possible for the characters they were.

Magath's character change is beautiful but the heroic acts of Shadis remain unknown for the public is very tragic.

Everything about this scene is just perfect. I literally cried my eyes out even though I've read the manga. Really a great choice by Mappa for puting sound silence here and only piano. Never expected that, but it hit my heart so much.
Faqs bro same
Enemy and traitor.
Magath is the 4 season goat! Most sane and reasonable character. Even despite he was on "the wrong side" at start, he could be respected for his actions and behaviour.
Shadis - an Eldian who we've known since the beginning. A man who saw himself as a bystander but in the end, helped his students escape even if they didn't know
Magath - a Marleyan we've met recently. A man who had contempt for Eldians and yet also sympathized with them and his Warriors in the end. And at last, was able to shed his bigotry of Eldians before ensuring his remaining students could live on.
Both men only knew each other for a few minutes. And yet, they realized they mirrored the other. An Eldian and a Marleyan basically set aside their differences to ensure their students could continue to fight on. If the situation was drastically different, both of them could've been good drinking buddies.
Godspeed, you old bastards. o7
You sound like a dude who keeps it always real no bs and straight forward, i wish i could buy you a beer.
The irony and symbolism of Magath dying while wearing a survey scouts jacket. I love it 🔥
The story shows how even in the darkest moments of the endless cycle of hate, there is still hope. Like two leaders of opposites sides of the war, dying as heroes and friends to avoid something horrible.
Because despite all that happened, they are still human.

RIP 12th Commander of the Scouts, Keith Shadis, Shinzou Wo Sasageyo
Their smiles before Magath pulled the trigger were so impactful, they were not showing any trace of fear, of regret for giving their lifes. They were at peace, hopeful that their sacrifice will not he in vain, accepting their fate and entrusting the mission to their comrades, pleased with the fact that they managed to give them an opening to continue the fight. Brilliant work from Isayama for creating this masterpiece, and beautiful work from Mappa, smooth and impactful.

This is the most bro moment in the whole series.

Magath died wearing the wings of Freedom like Galliard.
Theo Magath died as soon as he made what may have been his first true Eldian friend.
I always be saddened by the fact that no one will ever know that Shadis was the one to stop the reinforcements and died with Magath. Magath told him that the world will remember him as a hero, but sadly they weren't even aware that Shadis was there 🥲
There are countless unknown heroes who never got the honor or glory they deserved. This is why Attack on Titan is such a masterpiece, demonstrating the cold and true reality of war, encapsulated in fiction: In the end there are only losers.

The smile on both of their faces was so cool..
They were both trainers who loved military students. And giving up their lives in this scene is brave and perfect.
Reminds me of Spasic and Masera, two heroes from my little city in Montenegro who died in WW2 exactly the same way. They’re seen as literal heroes.
It's sad to think that Eren starting the rumbling is what led to all of this happening.
Nobody knew he was even there, he died as a hero but is not going to be remembered like that
The music makes this entire scene.
I wish for those two to become friends in another life.
That was a beginning and the end of the beautiful friendship
this straight up made me cry. not bc they were my favourite characters or anything(ive always liked Shadis tho), but bc I knew how their deaths will effect other people. Like Falco and Gabi. So much loss
The friendship and kindred spirit of two men from opposing nations forming in such a quick span of time. It is beautiful and immensly sad at the same time.
Within less than around 30 min i believe, a recognition of each other souls, a sense of mutual understanding and to have a friend beside you that knows your name before you die. What a moment.
