As I mentioned about 18 months ago, when I first found your site, you were the next person to have stepped up and kept us informed and educated, without a whole lot of commercialism interspersed like the other BIG fishing family from your area. My hats off to you. Keep up the fantastic work and may your numbers keep growing. Enjoy all your tips.
Thx for all the info Tom .Appreciate all the videos ,so educational ,can't wait to get my new lund tiller and put some of your knowledge to good use for me here in Saskatchewan! all the best for your season,,stay safe and thanks a bunch.
A whole lot of open water oppertunitys just opened up in a big way for us in Michigan. Also the western basin of Erie. Lake saint clair and sag bay got beat by the wind and blew out
There's not many currents like the st.clair river especially in poho. I have watched guys jig blade baits this time of year in front of the casino on the queen's side of the river. And up in the lake by the first can
How do you rig the V rod so it doesn’t hog tie itself when resting on the bottom? I seem to get one or both of the trebles get tangled up in the leader/ line. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for all the tutorials. I am working toward a boat that will be used for everything from salmon/steelhead to panfish/walleye. If you had to choose just one fish finder unit to outfit a 16-18 ft boat with, which unit would you pick and why?
Iam interested in how the heck you keep from snagging the bottom with this lure. iam in michigan and all the rivers are covered with old lumber days lumber etc??
27km long deep clear reservoir. Low numbers big fish. Will they spawn at inlets or shallow flats? Basin in 80 ft lots of shallow flats and inflow streams. What’s a good depth to fish and where should I start this spring?
Just getting prepped for some May Walleyes in the Boundary Waters (lakes) and want to give the v-rod a shot that I've seen you have success with... can you share which of the 3 holes on the that bait you attach to, and if you recommend tying the fluorocarbon right to it or if you prefer using different hardware to tie your line to, to then attach to the bait? Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Cheers!
What hole do you tie to for what situation with Blade baits? Always great content. Nice new boat but you can’t talk me out of my Triton fiberglass boat but then I fish for bass more than Walleye. However, I’d like to get heavier into Walleye!
Hi Tom For quite awhile have been watching your quality Iice and on water videos. I did not get on ice this season. Am planning on getting to pool 4 next week. Your last video there, you had all walleye, where were the Saugers. Have always loved 22 inch Saugers 20 feet below the rod. Bless your year. Keep up the good work Jack
I'm using these blades but keep getting the line caught up in the hooks on the downfall. Im using braid and suspect that is the issue. What line or leader setup should I be using.
Tom doesn't normally keep fish but something to remeber. If the fish pins it to the bottom and you don't have a hook inside its mouth its considered snagged and not a legal catch.

Thank you for all your information. You have made me a better fisherman.
I fish the st clair river where you need at least 3/4 oz, any suggestions for that besides jig heads?
There's not many currents like the st.clair river especially in poho. I have watched guys jig blade baits this time of year in front of the casino on the queen's side of the river. And up in the lake by the first can
To be honest I catch more walleye from shore then a boat
Man i appreciate your videos...quite simply you teach better than the rest sir
Very great tips and techniques. Ever since I found your channel, I have been slamming walleyes in early spring. Thanks! For educating us of fishermen.

He uses a humminbird helix with side imaging and I-pilot link. I believe he has two 9s. The bigger ones have more detail if you can afford it
Thanks for the refresher!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Great tips! Thanks. I’ve had blade baits in the box forever but never gave them the right application I see.
Great video, kinda triggered some mental replay highlighting some jigging mistakes from the past season
Iam interested in how the heck you keep from snagging the bottom with this lure. iam in michigan and all the rivers are covered with old lumber days lumber etc??

Great video, great sound effects and nice new hat.

You should do a video on the Rainy river
A tip on getting the camera to focus better when your showing a bait is to put your hand behind whatever you are showing to the camera
I wish they made that acme vrod in 1 ounce
They have them at fleet in 1oz
Do you have a link Troy? I only see 3/4 ounce..
@@johnkelley2615 I'm sorry I was mistaken I got the 1/2oz from fleet
Great video! This is one I will be saving and referring to in the future. Thanks Tom!
Guys share and like 👍 these videos

Fluorocarbon leader is what you want.
when people ask me how to fish for walleye I tell them to UA-cam tom boley.
the dams are still frozen
🤙👍
Exciting news coming up wedding bells?

Spring starts March 20, so these would be late river walleyes on open water.
First
But you say nothing but that.
