  • Today I am chasing walleyes on Green Bay. This video focuses on how to find walleyes when fishing in the spring. Spring walleye fishing is all about water temperature and locating fish on large shallow flats. I use almost exclusively side imaging to find walleyes in the spring. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more walleye content from Green Bay.

      You will likely be looking for structure as opposed to just fish on a big flat. But water temps and side imaging are always the way to go in the spring

      @@TomBoley so I should be fishing shallower vs in 20-30 feet? Does the time of day matter. Our water temp is ranging from 40-52 degrees depending on the area.

    Really enjoy your videos. Very informative. I haven't had the opportunity to use SI before, and can't wait to try it. I understand as you drive over structure going forward the image you see develops as you drive. A lot of my fishing is done on a river where we tend to drift with the boat sideways so 2-3 people can fish out one side of the boat so my question is: Does SI appear the same on the unit if you are back trolling, or drifting with the boat sideways on a river? If not, how is it different?Appreciate any feedback.

    Man I love your videos. Very comprehensive and you nail em. Have you ever tried Berkley Nanofil though? You can absolutely bomb it and it doesn't make that annoying braid sound. I use it exclusively. The hi-viz chartreuse is especially helpful for vertical jigging. Would like to see how you could do in the Detroit River...

    Thanks for posting these videos. I am out on the bay now north of oconto river. Driving around I see water Temps 35 and found 38.8. I simply don't see the pods on my side imaging. Maybe its the way the videos are edited but it seems like its automatic and u catch them every cast. I spend 8 hours a day out here the last 4 days without a fish. Could u speek on how many u would catch in a day? Like hundreds or 10's? For new anglers out here it after watching your videos vs. What I experience out there its I am on the wrong body of water. Thanks again for posting

    Hey man, wonderful video per usual. Can the follow the warmer temperature method be utilized in the border water lakes of Minnesota/Canada as well such as Voyageurs National Park and the BWCA? Most people tend to fish river inlets emptying into the large water where the majority of the fish spawn. Could finding temperatures be an alternative depending on if the fish have spawned or not already?

    Hi Tom Excellent program you have here. Two questions. I see you have a nice netting storage systems in your boat. May I ask where you got them from. I can’t find them online anywhere. Next question. I noticed on your Green Bay night trolling video you had one lure with a leader and the other tied directly. Any reason for this? Keep up the good work and let me know if your ever fishing the Cisco Lake Chain in Watersmeet Mi.

    Hey Tom, I'm in northern MN. Would you use this same method of searching shallow flats with SI during opener or is there another search method you prefer for early May?

    • @johnhenderson9048
      @johnhenderson9048 4 роки тому +2

      I had the same question. MN opener is typically mid may with a post spawn bite. Water temps will be in the upper 40's to low 50's. Does the water temp rule apply at this time as well?

    Stop throwing them back !!! If there keepers keep them. If hunters don't release deer, ducks, turkeys, rabbit's that they shoot, why should you release fish, especially keeper's.
