Such hospitable people. A wonderful culture I’m glad that this was up on UA-cam and everyone can get a glimpse on a unique and relatively unknown people that are actually trying to save the planet despite what others think.
Unknown people?.. what is this bad joke? these people are well known throughout the world for their monstrous slaughter of whales and above all for the cruelty in slaughtered thering them, mammals endowed with an extreme intelligence undoubtedly superior to many ignorant subhuman parasites that populate this planet and who unfortunately are even destroying, exactly like those who populate that island.🤬
One of best episodes, Faroe, is greatest unique place in Europe. This troubles are similar but different in Egypts episodes, and this was epic & adventurous as well ! My big compliments and love for ALL content of Best Ever Food🤟🏆✌💞Peace
I lived in Iceland for almost a year (w/ the USAF) and both places have their similarities. BUT I have to admit, you produced a very interesting program on the Faeroe Islands (food-centered of course) which made me wish I'd traveled there. Maybe someday ... (There's a statue of a woman/seal skin - a Silkie? - which I'd love to see in person.) TY for an interesting, informative, and eye-opening travelogue. Your whale hunting, background, and personal views segment was very good. It provided some much-needed context on the subject as it pertains to the Faeroe Islands and its people. So, big compliment on that segment in particular.
as a faroese person. I like this documentary how it explains our culture, our way of killing the whales is a tradition, we survived on it after little resources of food. It isn't beautiful, and may seem extreme, but in our culture we are grateful for the food, how it helped us survive, and we do try to make sure we only kill an amount as needed. Yes our kids are raised seeing the whales at sea, but they MUST be taught to kill the whales properly! most people are actually watching the fishermen who KNOW how to PROPERLY kill the whales instead of doing it themselves, like those who do not know how correctly kill the whales, don't help. They wait and watch and learn.
For this island, it's cool, no harm is done to ecology. For China, thinking about the whale population, I think they really don't need to kill them, like eat anything else, these giants need protection from these people...
If you only kill the needed amount, how is it possible that you dump whale meat into the ocean because you cant consume the amount you slaughtered? And how is killing an animal in such a brutal way the correct way? You dont even rely on whale meat to survive and on top of that its actually toxic to eat. Traditions dont justifiy cruelty.
This is true Herr also about white tail deer. Harvested for food but many people only see Bambi. We rely on deer meat or venison every year and it also keeps the numbers stable so none starve to death ad they did in the past bc of overpopulation
My cousins in the island are so few that this is sustainable traditional justifiably alright to hunt grindhval. Love frim big brother :) unconditional love from Iceland.. !yea! yea! ;)

My guess is more people are reached this way and I'm grateful for that. Amazing show and always makes me hungry. Also aware it was set to be. And wasn't. Never understand that.
Been waiting for this one, team. It’s nice to see traditional eating that pushes the limits and tugs the heart strings. In the end, it’s all about survival. ❤
@@disgruntled4627 i'm glad you put the clown emoji on such a troll of a comment. . . 1) that's a false premise to argue we can only have one or the other (big agri or whaling are out only choces?) 2) whaling is not a natural nor sustainable, these are modern people hunting endangered species under the guise of 'culture' whaling is a repulsive joke
@@johnsterling5425 It isn't "survival food", it's literally a part of the national cuisine. Whale meat isn't some quirky delicacy that they eat for fun; it's actual food that people eat to not be hungry, like beef or pork or whatever in other countries. I grew up during the 90's there, during a severe financial crisis, and when we got our share of whale meat, it was such a big relief and help to our finances. Sometimes it's enough food to feed a family for weeks, and sometimes even months. It's can be large amounts of free food, since whale meat isn't caught for commercial purposes, and is shared based on an at least 600+ year old system of community allocation. I don't live there anymore, and I don't really miss it either, but I hate it when people frame it like it's just something people do for "fun" there. Besides, the "abundance" you see is relatively new. The real development started in the 70's. My currently alive grandparents (who are in their 90's now) lived in anything but abundance.
@@Lemonz1989 so is it a survival food or not? you seem to be contradicting yourself. cows and pigs are domesticated and not wind animals, like whales, in danger of going extinct. nothing you said justifies Sonny's well fed ass flying on a jet to eat these endangered animals.

Legit, any person who can live off the sea and land and have respect for it's sustainability is a truly gorgeous soul inside and out, and although there has been much consternation regarding the Faroe Islands traditions, they are no different than any other indigenous group, and unless you're from there, your opinion is exactly that. Thank you for showing the true heart of her people, and for remaining respectful and reverent towards the special gift you received to be invited to join the folks who live on and work the ecosystem.
its good to see you explore cultures and give us insights about it, sometimes we dont need to judge them so quickly , we just need to respect them for who they are and their culture, its just about respecting , they are not harming anyone or the animals, they are just trying to live and living out their culture, big respect to you sonny 👍👍👍👍

I love seeing your dynamic look on the food, your narrative is amazing. And you are showing me and the world that we have interesting differences and cultural differences that are.... ok. Thank you
I love how peaceful and beautiful this place is, I could definitely live there.
This is one of the most interesting videos I have ever seen. Food is a huge part of culture, and I learned more about the Faroe Islands culture from their food than I probably could have in any other way. Fantastic video. Now I really want to try fermented lamb.😄
This is one of the most fun, educational, unique, beautiful and amazing best ever food review love from Tokyo 🇯🇵 I’ve already seen the original before but still for me this is one of the best ❤️
It’s not okay if you eat whale from a “research” ship.
@@dirtyfiendswithneedles3111 It's not OK to feed cows with corn & soya bean either.
This is the best part of the (old) travel channel meets, bizarre foods meets the original food network. ❤
Where have you been in my life? 😊
This show is what I've been missing. Thank you for all you do. Please continue your wonderful videos.
This was an amazing, insightful and very well done mini documentary. I’ve always wanted to go and experience the Faroe Island and this confirmed it. Amazing culture and way of life. Well done 👏🏼
This was a wonderful episode. Thank you so much!
Ive spent the last 5 days binging on your videos. I have loved everymoment. Its the conversations that you have with the people while you eat their food. I think you have hit the nail on the head. You do great..
Very impressed with how the true lifestyle of the people of the Islands was captured - uninterrupted, untainted, and pristine. I am also impressed with how they accepted you (and the production crew) and almost completely opened up about every question you asked. I'm with you on those Langostino's, I could eat 'em every meal for a week.
I must tell you, I've watched you off and on for a couple years and some of the vlogs just turned me off entirely. I hope this is a turn around for the direction you are heading. Keep up the great work, and keep 'em coming!!!
well said sir!
PLEASE explore the most northern parts of Canada! Northwest Territories and Nunavut to be specific, I don't live in the NWT anymore, but there are some delicacies you'd like to try, same with Nunavut. Its a vast part of Canada, and can be expensive, but an experience none the less.
I love your channels, and have been watching for a few years now. Amazing content.
I'm always grateful for the continued content. I just hope you someday re-visiting places you have already been to. Places do change within a decade.
This channel really deserves it's name. Best Ever Food Review Show indeed!
I can't wait until you hit 10 mil subscribers. You're channel is soo unique and hits on a huge variety of concepts in regards to foods from around the world. Every video is entertaining, you're a great host and have awesome energy. Keep doing what you're doing because it's awesome. I think they already have 10m. But I think he deserves 100M. such a educational fun channel with positive information.
What a beautiful, wild place. I love it and the people seem to be incredibly hardy and kind.
Sonny's energy is so welcoming and friendly tho the point he fits in everywhere
I just checked and I'm nearly an hour into this video. Wow! I don't usually watch youtube videos this long, but I haven't skipped a beat for your videos. Thank you and team for all the hard work and respect to the peoples and cultures you visit and share with the rest of the world!
This was absolutely fascinating and the production was so well done. Bravo!
I want to experience these amazing food culture. I love the way you've documented it.Thanks Sonny.
killing whales is cool

Such hospitable people. A wonderful culture I’m glad that this was up on UA-cam and everyone can get a glimpse on a unique and relatively unknown people that are actually trying to save the planet despite what others think.
Unknown people?.. what is this bad joke? these people are well known throughout the world for their monstrous slaughter of whales and above all for the cruelty in slaughtered thering them, mammals endowed with an extreme intelligence undoubtedly superior to many ignorant subhuman parasites that populate this planet and who unfortunately are even destroying, exactly like those who populate that island.🤬
it is about the adventure and the people we bond with over the day to day mixing of cultures. Thank you and them for sharing the stories
That last dude passed the vibe check lol
Thank you. Thank you for introducing us to the warm, kind people of the Faroe Islands. My wife and I loved this video.
One of best episodes, Faroe, is greatest unique place in Europe. This troubles are similar but different in Egypts episodes, and this was epic & adventurous as well ! My big compliments and love for ALL content of Best Ever Food🤟🏆✌💞Peace
....in every episodes i feel sorry for the killed animals, - i am a flexitarian
Excellent Video Sonny 😊. So much history there. The food's looked great. 👌
I love how I watch every second of this video. It's very informative!
U make me wanna visit Faroe Island. It's amazing. This video is one of my favorites of yours. Thanks for sharing :)
as a faroese person.
If in the past the tradition of massacring whales and dolphins it is now anachronistic because the island is rich and survival is no longer a concern.
!yea! yea! ;)
Sonny fits in anywhere! Love his humour too
I was in the Faroe Islands in 2019… I love ❤ the Faroes! 🇫🇴
What an awesome documentary great humour and great hosts
This was an incredible offering! Very well done!
Been watching for a while now and like many before me have said...this could be an actual TV show. The production quality and sonny's experience and personality are spot on.
for survival it's ok but to see a modern person living in abundance then going into the wild to eat "survival" food (whales) is quite repulsive.
@@johnsterling5425 Yeah cause big agriculture and slaughter is a lot more sane and morale than hunting in a naturalist setting. 🤡
@@disgruntled4627 i'm glad you put the clown emoji on such a troll of a comment. . .
1) that's a false premise to argue we can only have one or the other (big agri or whaling are out only choces?)
2) whaling is not a natural nor sustainable, these are modern people hunting endangered species under the guise of 'culture'
whaling is a repulsive joke
When I hear that your interactions and observations reflect the knowledge and experience that you've gained over the years, I am so proud of your hard work, and your team's alongside you.
8:57 ~ Little dude has been living his life in a comparatively weightless, dim, cold, liquid environment... If something yanked your boat _down_ , you'd probably jump/swim/fall out too, 😄.
Kudos to the whole team. Your show has evolved from a guy making food-travel video to a Food Documentary.
My best friend was from Sweden, and her husband was Arne from the Faroes, God RIP you both. Love you Anna Maja Martinsson Bugatsh!
Montis is one hell of a guy, handsome too! Definitely living his dream I'd say.
Incredible video, I mean, the intro is very good. The smoothness that this video has is incredible. Good work 👏
This one was amazing to watch. Great job showing the culture and the reason behind it.
It's not the whale, fermented sheep or puffins. It's the friends you meet along the way.
its good to see you explore cultures and give us insights about it, sometimes we dont need to judge them so quickly , we just need to respect them for who they are and their culture, its just about respecting , they are not harming anyone or the animals, they are just trying to live and living out their culture, big respect to you sonny 👍👍👍👍
No one asked but I live there 😢😅
What’s that like?

Thank you
I think this is the cleanest country or island I seen and heard of.... the island look so damn clean everything they do look so clean❤
That was amazing! You have done so many exotic food videos, and mostly in Asia. Who would have guessed that one of your most exotic food videos would be in the ocean west of Europe. So crazy interesting. I live in Utah, USA, and I do some hunting. But this was next level. Thank you. 🙏
Best channel..not just fun but u learn!!!
I've watched this video three times. Once for the original upload and twice for this video. You've made me actually want to go to the Faroes.
I really like the chef of Faroe islands. He seems to enjoy his life so much. He loves the job and also a very smart person.
MAN I'M SO GLAD THAT I MET YOUR CHANNEL, NOT BECAUSE I HAVE A LOVE FOR SEAFOOD BUT TO THE FACT THAT U PUT INTERESTS IN TRAVELING,MEETING OTHER INDIVIDUALS AND SHOWING US THE DIFFERENT TYPE OF SPECIES THERE ARE AMONG THE OCEANS BY JUST EXPLORING. MUCH LOVE COMING FROM A COUNTRY CALLED ANTIGUA.😎🫡🙏🏾🇦🇬💯
This is great. Food is culture. In my culture, we share similar traditions. It's just how you survive. You live off the land and what it can provide around you. We understand the importance of the animal and the respect that goes with it. Nothing is wasted. Legit episode!
This channel is such a comfort channel for me. Love all of your videos! Also cracked up at you calling out your wifes feet smell lmao 🤣🤣
