I found this old girl in an antique shop in Dothan Alabama. She was in a corner buried under a bunch of junk. This tractor is 68 years old and it seemed a shame to leave her there to wind up in a recycling plant.
I would live to hear the stories this old tractor could tell! They don'y make toys like this anymore. We need to save all the models that we can find.
I ordered all the correct parts and decals for her. I did change the color to another color that these came in. I've painted to many things yellow already.
If you like this restoration, please SUBSCRIBE to see more projects like this one! PS...THIS VIDEO IS LONGER THEN MY USUAL DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT IT TOOK TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT.
Thank you.
RS
Great to see toys of yesterday being restored and repurposed in modern day throw away world. Brilliant job well done.
Dude I dig it bro, well done. I agree that more things like this need to be saved. All the plastic crap that they're building today won't stand the test of time like this old boy did. I'm glad that you fixed it up for future generations to enjoy.
the plastic crap today is much much safer for children
@@imperialpresence3331 that maybe be so, I had steel toys when I was a kid and I still have all my original equipment and no scars from them. Bikes however are a different story.
@@timsmith1589 i had a marx service station that gave my 5 year old self a half a glascow smile..child safety was pretty much an afterthought until the baby boomer generation put a halt to that
Nice work. Good to see you put that coat of clear on it.
Excellent restoration, now let's get ploughing LOL, have a nice day friend !!!.
Great restoration, result is amazing. It must have taken a lot of work to make this toy 68 years ago, glad you saved it
Thank you so much for reestroing the old pedal tractor and your other videos on You Tub just wish everything didn't have to always be red whats wrong with green are tractor was green even if you had to crack it from the front to start it he he thanks so much ooh the memory's of easer times thank you and my God Bless your work and your videos
If there is one universal truth, there is no such thing as not enough paint stripper. This is one of your best and most intense restoration ever Rusty. Thank you so much for sharing!
Great Restoration on a great pedal tractor. I had a Castelli tractor, hand me down from older brother. Mine was red and I enjoyed the heck out of it.
I am now 64 yrs old. & would love to find a Castelli to restore for myself.
Stay Real.
Thanks for sharing such great childhood memories! RS
Mine was red to
I loved all the pedal cars when I was a kid.
Старые игрушки хоть и простые но такие душевные, а какой полёт фантазии рождается в голове у ребенка которого окружают подобные игрушки 👍👍👍
Thank you for doing this!!! There are very few pedal car restoration videos on UA-cam, and yours is by far the best one!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Perfect restoration, thanks for excellent video
Thank you sir! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank God this was a nice one to watch. The last one someone painted the dang headlights blue to mach the car!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha! Blue headlights? Crazy!
Nicely done! 👌🏽
I was born in 1951 and had one of these when i was four years old, nice job.
That was a fun project. Great job.!
Amazing restortation. I grew up in the 1950's, but I never saw a pedal tractor associated with that name. To pretty to play with.
Wow I can’t believe this thing was in that good of shape to begin with considering the type of toy it is -me and my brother would have beat the crap out of it back in the day. New subscriber- hope the rest of your videos are this good.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Beautiful! Now THAT'S what you call a well-built toy! (And, a first-rate renovation! I tell you, your skills have increased by leaps and bounds! You're like an expert restorer now, not just Grandpop fixing up old toys... Congratulations!)
Great restore and paint just bought up with your video Mick Thailand
WOW!!! Looks sharp... Red is my favorite color, loved the fire truck too.. you do beautiful work .. Really enjoy watching what you do...
We need rain. We have been in the high 90s and more
But glad to see this video
we had 100.4 Fahrenheit (38°C) in July, glad it's getting fresher now =)
Wow! Ambitions project! Shame you couldn’t ride it at the end lol
Oh, I tried! At 6-2 my legs couldn’t get short enough to reach the pedals! 😂
Wow, you use the same model of stand that I use for painting ! 🤣🤣🤣
Good job Sir! 👍🏻
Thank you Ruben!
Looks like a legit resto and not something the was purposely weathered and rusted in the recent past.
Fantastic job. A brilliant transformation. 👍
Awesome excellent amazing superb outstanding beautiful stupendous job you did on that tractor keep up the good work I will be watching you

GREAT JOB!!!!! When my grandson was 2 he had a plastic John Deere tractor, (we couldn't find a metal one) it was his favorite toy, he was very upset when he out grew it...
Great job! I was looking for something like this to gauge a similar restoration of a 1953 BMC pedal tractor. Gave me some good ideas.
This was an amazing restoration!! Thanks for posting.
Thank you Texana! Much appreciated! God bless. RS
Great work, never seen this variety before but came out well. Many plow hours ahead.
FINALLY - a restoration gent who knows what he's doing! Great job on the tractor. One Christmas about 65 years ago I got a cool little bicycle and younger brother got a tractor like this one for Christmas....I always did like that tractor more than the stupid bike. Liked, subscribed and looking forward to watching more. Nicely done!
DUDE! Sandblaster!
The human shrug. DUDE! I have a sandblaster. Most of the parts were to big to fit comfortably in the blasting box.
Amazing amount of patience and work. I think the red makes it outstanding in its field. Great restoration Rusty.
Beautiful job, but I did like the original yellow color better.
Thanks for your opinion!🙏🏻. I had already restored so many things that were yellow, that I just wanted to use a different color. 🙂
Excellent job 🇬🇧
Awesome job 😎
Very nice work.
This is better then new.
SOO KOOOOOLLLL.
Mike Espo .
I’m aware that I put a rear wheels on with the tread facing the wrong way. I have corrected that. Thanks for letting me know about that. 👍🏼 RS
This tractor looks great, even in red. Ya can buy a chain rivet tool at the bike 🚲 shop to take apart the chain. They cost about $19.99, for a good 👍 one. Don't resort to Wal-Mart. Theirs are junk. I never even knew 👌 that the rear tire treads were facing in the wrong direction, because I'm new to your channel. I don't know if you're putting fresh rubber 💆 on those rims. I'd hang this tractor up ☝ as a collector's piece. Even if not 👎, some kid will be proud to ride it. Smart idea 💡 with the new chain. I'd also have gone with new tires, it didn't look like 👍 ya replaced those. Now 👎 everybody in town will know 👌 who's riding this BRIGHT RED tractor. It must be an Italian 🍕 brand. "Cintelli", if I'm not 👎 mistaken. Your friend, Jeff.
Castelli, I couldn't quite remember. Sounds Italian 🍕. Your friend, Jeff.
Amazing restoration, beautiful! Isuspect your next big purchase will be an oven for powder coating.
Thank you! I have an oven for powder coating. You can see it being used in some of my other videos. These parts were to big to fit in it.
Looks awesome. Makes me want to redo a John Deere pedal tractor and trailer l have. Thanks for sharing
I was thinking, if I was the one redoing it, I woukd have used John Deere colors!
@@texanasimmons1761 yup
Awesome restoration and video 👍
Beautiful resteration.
Just watched the restore on the fire truck you have definitely stepped your game great job on this and the fire truck Mick Thailand
Turned out really nice. Congrats !
Much appreciated sir! RS
Absolutely 💯 great 👍 job.
Awesome the color
Te felicito por tu trabajo es muy lindo
Thanks!🙏
My brother had one of these, mom and dad kept it and it went to their grandson. The gear shifter lever had a rubberized handle on it but I'm guessing it's next to impossible to find them anymore, not criticizing at all you did an absolutely beautiful job with this!
Really nice. Thanks for everything you do
My that has to be your biggest project to date, but it came out beautiful . Nice choice.
I love the orange-peel finish on the paintwork, although I doubt senor Castelli would have been amused!
I left it on to add character to the tractor.
Very nice, excellent detail
Great job early in the morning 9:04.
Been waiting since the first photo. SWEET!
Excelente Trabajo 🚜👍Saludos desde León Nicaragua
Good job love the new colors
awesome result 😎👍
As always, very good work. I love that you don't add any clown or elevator music to your videos.
Fantastic Job 👍
The wheels came out very nice...the whole project came out great..I have a fire engine of this type of metal pedal car....might go yellow.
I like the red.
I like the color choice over the yellow. Came out looking really nice. I remember these toys I was 7 when this one made.
Very good 👍
Great Work!! 👍😁
Awesome!!
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Nice work!
Thank you Sir!🙏🏻
That Aircraft remover is impossible to get here, every time they try shipping it over here the plane disappears.
Morris McKinnon Hahahaha! Nice!
But evidently it works. No aircraft seen in this video, so there's your proof.
but i need it .... i have a plane stuck in my windshield and cant remove it without
:)
Beautiful job!
Very nice work
Im ashamed at youtube didnt tell me this was was uploaded. Not even a sugguestion. Great job
Hit that notification 🛎! RS
Real nice job, keep up the good work.
Nice job! Glad I have a sandblaster, though. One comment for aesthetic purposes, flip the left wheel and get the tread oriented in the correct direction. You got the right side correct.
I have a sandblasting cabinet, but the big parts wouldn’t fit. I have already reversed the tires so the tread faces the correct way. Thanks for your input! 🙏🏻
Here's a tip for applying transfers and stickers. Use soapy water on the surface you are applying the sticker. that way you can adjust the position and squeegee out air bubbles and wrinkles.
Good job thank you for not painting 🎨 it yellow not a fan of yellow. Have a wonderful week.
The Castelli tractor looks like new how come you didn't paint it the original color?
This model came in yellow and red. I’ve painted a lot of stuff yellow already. I thought that the red with the black stripes would look good. A little sportier then the yellow. Thanks for watching! RS
Rusty Shepherd *than the yellow.
Nice color scheme. This was definitely worth the wait! Awesome job!
awesome job!! no problem spraying primer over that little rust wee see one some parts? thanks man
The rust was wire brushed, then had a rust converter applied to stop any further rust, and to seal it. So there is no problem. Thanks for spotting that. RS
@@RustyShepherd cool, thanks for the tips, i never know how to deals with that litle rust spots i cant remove. thanks!
MAGNIFICIENT!!!
I enjoyed watching this video, I did notice that when you welded the steering wheel to the steering post you should have cleaned the metal first it would have made a better weld. Now back to watching, I'm betting it will look great.
Hermoso, felicitaciones.
muchas gracias!
Nice one, mate. 👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
ficou maravilhoso parabens
Isn't that front wheel fork bent backwards a little bit? Or should it be mounted 180 degrees turned? 🙄
The shaft is off center. That’s so the well will stay straight when pushing without using the steering wheel. RS
Super 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Like from Brazil.
This is varey perfect 👍👍
Great good.
Perfection!!!
Nice restoration but with that paint job it's really a display piece cause if you wanted it to really last powder coating would've been the correct choice.
I completely agree. Unfortunately those parts wouldn’t fit in my powder coating oven.
@@RustyShepherd Yes figured that we all have that problem with large toys but keep up the great work.
I had one similar to that but mine was red when we lived in Las Vegas when I was young
OCD kicked in when you put one of the rear wheels on backwards.....
I’m glad you called me out on that! I didn’t even realize that. I have corrected the mistake. Thanks!
@@RustyShepherd Well done!
Good. I thought it was just me !
Rusty Shepherd I was thinking the same thing OCD through the screen 😂 can you give us an update have you sold it since restored
gerardo gomez I haven’t sold it yet. A few people are interested. Still working with them on wether one of them is going to take it.
Amazing!!!!!
Does someone sell repro stickers or were these specially made for you?
One thing I might have done differently: if you'd applied the stickers *before* the clear coat, the varnish would have protected the stickers *and* blended the edges into the finish.
You put a lot of work into this resto, especially the metalwork, I hope someone gets years of pleasure from it. If it lasts *another* 70 years, that could be *ten* more kids who get to enjoy it.😁👍👌
Hi 2H80vids. The stickers I found on eBay for $17. There are several places online that make replacement parts for these old tractors. With regards to the clear coat over the stickers, some clear coats will react with the stickers and cause them to crinkle up into a mess. I’ve had that happen a few times. I didn’t want to have to order a new set of stickers of the clear wrecked them. RS.
@@RustyShepherd aT $17, I'm not surprised - fair enough reason, just thinking aloud really.😁 I wonder if he sells many; you wouldn't think there would be too many of these around. Even if there's quite a few left, how many will be getting restored? I guess it must pay him though. At $17 a pop, he won't need to sell many.😂
Rusty, GREAT job man ! Color change was spot on and your work was top notch as always. Long wait for BIG project.
wow looks good but u got the free wheel on backwards
Yeah. I fixed that just after posting the video.
Конструкция - огонь! Почти ничего не пришлось срезать/приваривать высверливать/расклепывать. Сейчас так не делают!
🤔🤷🏻♂️
My only addition would have been to apply the decals before assembly to make it easier.....good job, looks like some kid should have fun on it. But I suppose some collector will just display it.
Wonderful 🍺🍺🍺🍺
