Okee dokee. 54 year-old dude/guy here. I recognize your struggles. Things right now, for just about ANYONE, are chaotic and nonsensical and just plain suck to try and figure out. Took me this long to get to a place where I feel grounded (call it that place of inner zen, of peace and calm); it's nice because it makes things so much more.........calm. Know what I mean? It takes a lot now to rattle my cage now. How did I get here? Before I say bunches and bunches and end up having you just go "will you get to the point????", I will instead ask you this: have you taken a personality test? Know it sounds weird, but believe me, it HELPS! When I started back to school/college, they had me take a (personality) test. The results blew me away! It answered so many questions as to why I never felt like I fit in. Like why I perceived things differently from others. My personality type is way disposed to being spiritual. Also explained why I have trouble connecting to other people. Do you associate with possibly being an introvert? Does being around people drain you mentally, emotionally and spiritually? Does it take being alone for a while to recharge those spiritual batteries? If so, then a personality test could begin to give you an answer or answers. This coming from an INFJ (meaning me) that happens to be the rarest type of personality on the planet (and men of this type are even rarer!). Peace Out!
Funny you mention that. I looked up my personality test from 2021 and it said I was a protagonist, The extroverted type The diplomat type. Which I've always really felt. I've always felt a sense of leadership. I am a Leo after all lol. I know that place of inner peace for sure. For a long time. I actually wanted to become a monastic, live in an ashram where a monastery, and really be in silent contemplation and meditation as much as possible. So I think right now what I am learning to work through. I have that natural leadership, outgoing diplomatic personality, coupled with that inner knowing that there is so much more than the external material existence, but that so much more is less... Hmm

As a kid, my parents never forced a religion on me; makes sense, as dad (unknown to/by me) was a 33rd degree Master Mason; he encouraged me to be a free thinker and to find out for myself. I've experienced/been a part of many different religions, and in the end I was always drawn back to spiritual seeking. I don't look without to find validation for my existence; the answers, more often than not, can be found within. I am a leader, but I understand that for most people, they will resist being "fed" truth; they have to find it for themselves. So, in essence I "lead" people or act as a guide, offering advice or perspectives/opinions if asked; people have to find their own truths, and it is often when they have worked, sweated and bled, to find that truth do they appreciate it (that is when it has more value for them). Laughing, as I read your response to me in full; laughing, because as an Aries, I can (or use to) be pretty nasty tempered. Took a while to get here, but my temper is a beast that I recognize (I've used the term "demon") and with the spiritual practices I've learned, keep chained, sedated, and well-managed. Knowing compassion as I do, having it built into my core being, I work/strive every day to be the best person that I can be. Feels good to actually TALK to/with someone and feel heard and sense at least some portion of striving to understand and be understood. Isn't that in essence what it is to be human? (or a significant portion of)
