I firmly believe that the name "Ancient Dragon-Man" being a name we are forced to take seriously is a in-joke by the devs. In a world of "Magma Wyrm Makar" and "Dragonlord Placidusax" and all these grand names of awe and terror, having a guy referred to by something like, D-list superhero tier is hilarious. More memorable than a cool name, honestly.
Heres the 2 marbles that were rolling around in my head at this point in my playthrough. "Igon and Bayle are in a southeastern dragon themed area. In Game of Thrones Aegon and Balerion came from a dragon themed area in the southeast." I forgot to develop the thought any further than that You said "The dragon people ate hearts and got corrupted this way" - a reminder that the people who did that ended up as magma wyrms, perhaps this is something different entirely. Also I support the cerulean coast next idea, but the choice is pretty free from this point onwards. Some areas are independent storylines to the DLC, I'll leave it to you to ask for each area whether or not thats the case if you want to know. My strongest opinion on navigation is to ignore the the guidance of grace until there is nothing left to do. Remember in the base game if you'd followed that you'd have skipped Ranni, Mohg, Rykard, Malenia, Radhan and their entire regions.
Aah, Igon, everyone's favorite NPC. The voice actor feels so overly invested, yelling and screaming constantly, and everyone loves it! Dunno if you noticed, but that dragon katana is a great katana, a new weapon class I'd suggest doing the Cerulean Coast next, I feel it's the "right order of progression", but it's really just me.
