If Placidusax was a looming thunderstorm, rolling over you with that low drone of fear in the back of your head, Bayle is a volcano actively erupting before your eyes! I think its clear why Placidusax kept some of his faithful around and was still Dragonlord while Bayle had to make a retreat. The Lord losing 2 heads is certainly a heavy blow, but Bayle losing his wings and a leg makes his life very very difficult, clearly. Man even uses his exposed wing/arm bone as a cane. Well done! Minor note you didn't get to see, but Bayle has an explosion similar to Placi's where you hear that high pitched screech after it. Definitely the top two dragons in the Lands Between, shame their empire fell apart.
When you put it that way... both those dragons are metal afffffff! I'm so impressed with how wrecked their bodies were. It's a fascinating way to design dragon bosses.
This was the redeeming feature of the Jagged Peak I was referring to, my favourite From boss ever That Sennesax lore on the pots infuriated me, they put her in water, where lighting has a branching effect, then gave an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT lore justification to why she had it for no reason Lamenters Mask gives 5% DR, 20% holy defense and 8 arcane. Finally, and prepare to be shocked by this, this was Igon's voice actor's first ever role, he recorded his lines in an hour
Totally understandable choice for a best boss! I'm surprised the Lamenter's Mask gives so much extra holy defense. I could've sworn it only boosted it by a few points, but that's a significant use case. IGON'S VA DESERVES ALL THE MONEY
Thiolier's concoction was to be given to an ancient dragon who never slept. Florissax (not Lansseax), the dragon priestess, gave her sleep to placidusax, if you gave her the concoction she would become abandoned by Placi and would find a new lord by becoming your spirit summon "Could I have saved Igon?" You did exactly that, his life was miserable and the only reason he held onto it was to see the dread dragon fall.
@@coldrungaming1377 I missed the dragon priestess on my first run too, I forgot to say it also has to be at night. My biggest FromSoft gripe is making such an important interaction missable and cryptic. They've gotta go with one or the other, if I can miss it it should be obvious, if it's hard to figure out it should be available any time.
@@coldrungaming1377 also worthy of keeping in mind, can't remember if you noted it or not Bayle is the one who "inflicted a grievous wound" upon Placi and in return he was wounded himself. His missing leg and wings is as much a gift from Placi as Placi's missing heads are a gift from him. Think about how epic and devastating that fight must have been, one of them ran until they were in a land outside of the domain of time and the other ran until they were in a land outside of the domain of life.
