The crashed tiger I've understood for several years to be a reference to an encounter between a US towed AT gun that was unable to be moved because it fired so many rounds it buried itself in the mud deep enough the half track was struggling to get it out. Tiger came around the corner and was so close the gun couldn't depress enough to see the gun crew. The AT crew panicked, fired a shot at point blank causing the driver to panic, soil himself, and back up into a building which collapsed and knocked the tank out.
Also, the Welsh Guards would have had the same squadron tacsign shapes as the other armoured regiments, but the would've been white. Their regimental Tacsign would've been a white 45 over a green over blue square. For what it's worth, my name is Charles Tricker and I did some research for the original market garden book Hell's Highway alongside Battlefront. You can find me credited there and in the V3 Market Garden book, as well as on the BF website in an article about the grenadier Guards battalions.
always like having extra figures, cause that way when you've bought enough stuff you end up with a free platoon, or it allows you to take out poses that you don't like or guys that come miss cast.
The Challenger is now an option instead of a Firefly, in the Cromwell platoon, in the new compilation book. Something to note about the infantry sprue, it does the Rifle platoon, as well as the Motor platoon and the Rifle platoon is bigger, so you could possibly make up enough extra infantry bases to make a Rifle platoon, so you'd have options... The Sextons are really a replacement for towed 25pdrs and are a couple of pts cheaper than the towed guns. The Cromwell CS (Mk V or VIII) had a 95mm howitzer. Challengers didn't arrive in the early part of the Normandy campaign but were there from July 44, so it is historically correct as an option
@@ModellingforAdvantage Indeed, it's something many people have been moaning about for a while in the FB groups, same with the US not getting Hellcats and the Germans not getting JagdPanthers etc etc. The new compliation book has fixed all that though
I think they updated the Unit Cards for the Desert Rats to be able to field Challengers in Normandy, since they started arriving in July '44 and that's why the Card is in there.
Nice video. 👍 To me the british hard plastic inf is the best hard plastic infantry BF has done so far. (If you build the motor pln you get so much left over figures because the same sprues makes the inf pln).
I received my box 2 weeks ago, but the dice and tokens were not included in the box. Did this happen to somebody else and if yes what did you do to still get the missing dice and tokens?

Very true
The Ram tank was a Canadian tank based off of the M3 Lee chassis. It was its own tank.

AS Early as July 44? Did not realise that.

As early as that? I did not know that.
Another great and informative unboxing 👍🏼
If I remember correctly Fog of War made a British markings video a while ago.
Yeah he did. It is the 21st Army Group markings he is talking about.
@@ModellingforAdvantage Ah yes, he made it less confusing for me at least 😄
No Ram tank ever saw action. The Ram Kangeroo was a pretty good, well armoured, APC for WWII and was used by the Canadian's and British.
Aye
A few actually did make it to Europe with their guns and a some without they were used as OP tanks mainly with units that used sextons
