When the show was on, I didn't take the time to watch it. I had lost my first husband in 1997, was working full-time, then 5 years later, (2002), started dating again. When I finally did take the time to settle down and watch the re-runs, I really enjoyed it. There was some really good acting in it. I was surprised too at how closely my friends and I paralleled the show's dating scene...of course nothing on the grand scale of the show, but I had to laugh at how ridiculous and tiring dating can be. There were a lot of screwballs out there! Thank goodness, love came again for me in 2007. I was glad to hang up my dating hat and never want to do that again!

As a HUGE fan of the show, I wasnt put off by the "lack of diversity" especially in the core cast. Best friends usually have extreme amounts of commonality: same socioeconomic backgrounds, similar tastes and similar familiar experiences. They usually tend to be the same race. Which is PERFECTLY FINE. I did like the way they introduced different characters of different backgrounds that did not neglect how they would end up in each others spheres. The professional sports doctor that moves into a high end building is completely plausible (him being as sexy as Blair Underwood...less plausible LOL). I love the series and the two subsequent movies❤❤❤. You could honestly replace the ladies with any race/ethnicity and except for cultural specifics, would run the same (see "Girlfriends" and "Golden Girls" even "Living Single)
