This is the normal food prices in Norway, OBS! The watermelon is actually 17 NOK pr/kg, so whatever the piece weight is, thats what the price is - just making that clear.

I am surprised that these prices are not outrages, the prices are not that different from prices in the U.S. and we get taxed on it here in Arizona. The avocados were high.

so far ive yet to see any youtuber look at cabbage, carrots, onions, tomatoes, red kidney beans, canned sweet corn, mixed forzen veg, olive oil ...thats what i hope to continue eating if i ever get to Norway

That's so interesting! I see people online from a few years back saying how expensive it is to buy groceries in Norway as a reason why you shouldn't live there, but these prices are actually cheaper than the things I can buy in the US right now! Especially vegetables and fruit!

interesting ! I think those prices are close to the ones in France. just slightly above. spending 100€ per week in groceries for a person is pretty normal here.. and if you're buying organic, it can goes beyond :)

Some of those prices were a bit shocking but generally speaking, overall, it's a little bit more than Australia for a family weekly shop. Thank you for the comparisons ❤
Usually salaries are higher in Norway for regular people though. If you come from a high salary occupation abroad you might have to settle for a lower salary in Norway.
@Will Swift It means regular people have higher salaries as I said, do they can afford more. In the US regular people is poor as hell and such need much cheaper goods.

Well it is not that expensive you shoose the most expensive so it is not the real cost so you have to learn never go to a Rema 1000 shop go to Kiwi or some shop and also look at the brands in Kiwi but also look for the brand First Price it is usually 20% cheaper than all you have shoose so you could saved maybe 700 kr for that week of food this way! So be careful shoping in Norway!!
And with beer choose Seidel (green boxes 0,5 litres) in Kiwi shop it is the most cheap beer and pretty good actually!!! Only a friendly advice.

I just came back from Denmark, and with the exchange rate, I found it pretty much as expensive as Norway, except for beer and certain fresh meats.

hi. Rema 1000 removed at least half of its goods/brands a few years ago. I don't remember why. They are also Norway's cheapest food chain. nice store for some groceries but if u want to have a bigger selection you want to go to Meny and coop
