I have Ehlors-Danlos Syndrome, hypermobile type and am currently 30 weeks pregnant. (Yes I had a cervical cerclage placed at 13 weeks) My husband and I suspect that I have MS and am currently seeking a diagnosis. My symptoms of MS started before I got pregnant but having hEDS it’s been really difficult to know which symptoms are coming from what disease.
With that said, I did notice that starting at about 24 weeks into my pregnancy and especially in the beginning of my 3rd trimester, the neurological symptoms of severe pins and needles and numbness have only escalated. Now I feel them in my trunk and face. It’s really bad at night when I lay down. Im starting to drop things more and my feet don’t seem to want to pick up as high to take a step as they did normally. So, Im having to use my walker more. I also have PoTS and experiencing more symptoms since I got pregnant as well.
I say this because I’ve read some women feel better during pregnancy. Mine seems to have made me feel worse and only exacerbate the possible MS symptoms.
For reference I’m 38 years old and have come to learn that EDS and MS go hand in hand.
