    Man I loved what you wrote at the beginning of your vid about "Never stop evolving", I have a f500 cannondale from 98' that my father helped me to buy cause I finished university and started a job paying him monthly, feel just the same that my bike and me both evolved since then, this year I moved from Mexico to Canada and decided to bring it with me, have many upgrades and changes Im proud but the only stupid thing I did years ago was getting rid of the headshok, cause I thought it was going to be so hard to fix and find parts for it, hope one day I could find one and bring it back, I feel so attached to my bike, and will do my best to keep for a lifetime, thanks for sharing!!!

    I just got my 99 Cannondale out of storage It's a Cad3 with the fatty headshok....first, all the cables and drivetrain then the headshok is next,just got the replacement elastomer and am ready to roll and hit the trails again....love to see a bike that looks close to mine sans the yellow headshok cover...and bike rack....mine is strictly trails only. Nice job !! I'm still running my old XTR drivetrain rear derailleur and a suntour pro front and it still shifts great !!

    I am still tearing up my local trails on my Cannondale F600 that is older than the guys I pass regularly! Keep all those "Made in America" beauties alive! I have mostly modern transmission, and upgraded V-brakes (no disk bosses to speak of). Black metallic, with gold labels. So gorgeous. BTW, someone out there find me a modern aluminum bike with better welds. Please, I'm waiting...

    I do the same with an old cad2 c500 now.
    The frame is like new and I love the pipe and welding quality from the 90th.

    I love this video! Very chill. I just sandblasted my wife's 1989 Cannondale MTB as we're going to upgrade it. Loaned it out, and it was left outside, rusted, and paint was gouged. This video got me excited! Cheers!

    I just upgraded few things on my f700
    Rockshox recon silver tk
    Raceface stem
    Cannondale kp058 reducer 1 1/8 fork tube
    I was never a true fan of the headshox, so my bike ended up sitting forever. . I couldn't part with this one though.. the rockshox are a huge difference....
    I plan on more of an urban assault / road profile for this bike with the option to trail it..
    I also found a super v 500 with a lefty fork on the cheap from ebay, and it's on its way (new project!) That will be the single track grandpa that I intend to update to current xtr and refresh the suspension..
    So the hard tail for the crossfit and the full suspension classic for the action :)
    Gotta love what cannondale was up to in the 90s

      Hello Girald. I just bought a F700 for 40 dollars here in Florida . Its in bad shape. May 96 . I'm slowly working on it. My question to you is about the fork. I think I have a not original fork. Chrome , not suspension . Would a DD60 fit ? A DD50 ? Thanks.

    I'm a proud owner of a 1997 F1000 that I have owned since new. This year I had been on the fence about investing in a new MTB but your video has inspired me to continue to evolve my beautiful mango coloured F1000. Thanks for that! One question - what crank setup are you using in the video?

    Great video! I hv a similar bike that needs a rebuild. Identified as a 1999 cannondale unmarked. Shocks are probably mc60 and does not work. I am inspired by your video!

    @downallyourstreets 2 роки тому

    The 1995 2.8 frame was the lightest at 1400 grams the first of the power pyramid cad3’s. After that they gained half a pound. The Avid Supremes were better and half the weight of disk brakes. 2007 Crossmax slr 26 ceramic rims were 1400 grams no lighter rim available plus bomb proof stiffness this looks great but heavy

    Hiya, I have the same bike I believe. I bought it secondhand in around 2002. Is yours a f700? I'm trying to rebuild the fatty head shok. But all the info and videos shows different type of damper with an air valve located in the base of the fork. Do you know what fatty fork is on yours? Eg fs99fsd with 80mm of travel? Anyway your bike looks great and hopefully will do a the same to mine.

    Very clean bike. Looking at building one soon but unsure on what size. How tall are you and what size is that frame? I’ve seen 18” or 22” up for sale, and I am 6ft1 so think I need a 20” really.

    • @tukedesign3869
      @tukedesign3869  3 роки тому

      Hi Rikki, I'm 6 feet (183cm) and this frame is 20 inches (size L). It's quite small for me.

    • @rikkileejacobs
      @rikkileejacobs 3 роки тому

      @@tukedesign3869 thanks for responding so quickly. 22” might be a good size then for me then. Also want to have it as a commuter/gravel bike as well as XC bike so good choice. Only think I don’t like is a massive frame against the tiny 26” wheels. Changing from 29” to 26” will be interesting.

    I have a chance to buy a mint 2001 Cannondale f700 with all the original components I believe. The bike probably has less than 10-20 very easy hours on it. It's $300 Canadian. Not sure what it's worth. The only thing holding me back is the size. It's a 20 inch frame, and I'm only 5'8". I was planning on a short stem like this bike and street tires to make it a sweet city bike that can handle some abuse. I'm not sure if the 20 inch frame would be a good fit for that type of use at my height. I'm so tempted just because of the condition.

      Hi, thank you for your watching.
      I'm 6 feet and my Cannondale is also 20 inches (size L). It a little bit small for me (my daily bike is surly XL + 29"). Anyway, in my opinion, an M frame (48cm) may be a better choice for you. Cheers

    こんにちは thank you for the video I am also in the process of doing something similar but was afraid because I thought a long cage derailleur would be too long for 26” (I guessed yours are also 26”)
    And also for the cassette which one are you using ? Is it a 11 speed 11-42 teeth cassette ? Would it fit a 8-speed hub?
    Thank you again

    • @tukedesign3869
      @tukedesign3869  3 роки тому +1

      The derailleur is a longer version (RD-M8000-SGS), which matches my 11-46T cassette, and I think the shorter version (RD-M8000-GS) should be perfect with 11-42T. Anyway, they are both okay for 26'' wheel. Another good news about XT M8000 series cassette, they are all fit 8s/9s/10s hub.
      cheers
