This is the best 16 minute bike video I've ever watched on YT! The riding was definitely the icing on the cake. That's how these things should be ridden. Well done! This video deserves millions of views!
great rebuild - you've got gret building skills and shredding skills - people dont realise how good these old school bikes are - thank you for the video
I'm currently riding a 1995 Specialized Rockhopper Comp A1 that I've been slowly upgrading. Watching this video makes me feel a lot more justified in keeping the old bike!
Im currently goint to restore my grandfather's bike, for the porpuse of making it a travel bike for the rest of summer, this vedio is such a motivation
Just got a 1999 Rockhopper RS which is why I am here. I stayed for the excellent video production. No doubt our host has a lot to say but this video is even MORE effective without narrative. Really appreciate the multiple cam angles including drone footage. Editing is superb. Natural sounds with no silly music is the gold standard.
Ahh man so happy I stumbled upon you. What an awesome video. I was transfixed all the way through. Takes me back to my early MTB days in the 90s. The care you’ve taken here is absolutely incredible. Colour scheme is so dope. Subscribed 👊🏻
Wow brother! I enjoyed watching the restoration part! It must have taken a lot of time. Great work! I bet it felt great to ride once your work was completed! It all came together - it is a mountain bike!
So artfully executed-- Plus an equal is that run, the soundtrack, the tiniest crushes of dirt & stone..the various camera positions-- my god, what a labor of pure luv ! Christ All Mighty- this deserves an Emmy🎈
WOW !!! Just discovered this channel, after months of binge-watching 3 very different UA-camrs - Sam Pilgrim, Old Shovel, and Blue Lug. Man, this is like the best bits of all those 3 combined, but on top of that, your videography is off the hook ! Full respect man. This is sick. 👍
This was so good! I've got an old 90's Mongoose I was going to turn into a gravel bike. I think this just changed my mind. It needs to see some jumps 😂
Dude, me too. I have a mid 90s aluminium Rockadile DX with rock shocks. I’m (trying at least) converting to all rigid and a 1 x 10. Get some riser bars on there.
The sticker timelapse dude. Nobody is doing that in restoro vids. Very cool like stop animation 80s childrens TV programmes. I watch all the restoration YTers and this pisses over most of them. Cinematography at the end too. Outstanding.
This is a great video that showcases the potential of a great bike. My first 'real' mtb was a 2001 Rockhopper A1(disc). I still have that bike and it's done just about everything.
My 1st MTB was a 1992 Rockhopper absolutely loved that bike watching this makes me want to rebuild my old Ti frame to use again....... great video thank you
That was awesome . Three things are apparent here . Firstly , you have great skills in restoring and setting up a MTB Secondly , you shred And finally , so many riders are "over-biked" , which is not a sin ! just funny . You have proven that a good rider on a decent , solid foundation bike can be an awesome combination .
Thorough. Great close ups with high res and stop frame photography is excellent with shock decals coming off, etc. Solid mech work & riding to boot!! 😎👍💯
Im rocking a mid 80’s all original Bridgestone MB2. Just started MTB’ing after simply loving bikes as transportation and bike camping over nights. Its really fun! Love old steel frame steeds.
one of the best restoration/rebuild bicycle video and great shredding after that too! subscribed!!🤙🏽 built my 95 Marin Bear Valley SE with new parts after watching this but didn't ride/shred like you..🤣 thank for the inspiration. 🤜🏽🤛🏾
great restoration. amazing ride footage. sitting here on a rainy day and it felt like i was taking the ride with you! dope as fu$k! thanks for sharing!
Great video. Loved the restoration. 👍(you should really wear a respirator when painting to stop those nasty vow's getting in your lungs). Just goes to show how good a quality those 90's steel mtb's were. Liked the 1x update.
Im the original owner of a 2001 Specialized rockhopper comp A1. I have already done a bunch of upgrades to it and now my 12yr old son rides it. I was hoping you might be able to provide some specifics on the parts used and if you changed the geometry any (shorter stem, wider bars?), rims with a wider internal diameter (> 17mm or 19mm internal width)? etc. great video btw.
How does this only have 3k views.... cinematography and handiness is insane ! What an amazing video
almost 6k
it blew up now it has 40k
Totally agree. This is an outstanding video production. No narration. No music. Video does all the talking.
125k Views 2023
because everyone too busy watching yes yes yes icecream so good
Nice Rebuild 🤘
A helmet is cooler than a cap on the trail 🤙
True, riders choice though 🤷♂️ thanks for watching!
Too true. I keep most of my memories in my brain. Would be shame to loose that archive.
Se nota que nunca te han dado puntos en la cabeza por no llevarlo
This is the best 16 minute bike video I've ever watched on YT! The riding was definitely the icing on the cake. That's how these things should be ridden. Well done! This video deserves millions of views!
Jesus christ, 7,800 views?! The riding at the end is the cherry on top, god damn. A++ restore video.
great rebuild - you've got gret building skills and shredding skills - people dont realise how good these old school bikes are - thank you for the video
Some are really sick! Indeed
My 90's rigid MTB with only road tyres and a meticolous tuning, is now a fast and robust sport road bike. I love its 26' wheels.
I'm currently riding a 1995 Specialized Rockhopper Comp A1 that I've been slowly upgrading. Watching this video makes me feel a lot more justified in keeping the old bike!
r/xbiking
I've got newer more capable bikes, but I can't say I've had more fun than on my old 89 Nishiki Colorado.
Its not fair ,this video deserves at least 10 m view...Its like watching a movie.Great Work .
The way he lands every jump is so smooth.
Im currently goint to restore my grandfather's bike, for the porpuse of making it a travel bike for the rest of summer, this vedio is such a motivation

Probably one of the best if not the best incarnation of the Rockhopper.
Such a classic. I want to restore mine
My first full restomod was a 96 Rockhopper. Great climber, nimble and lots of joy. The 90s produced lots of cool mtb’s.
Those steel framed rockhoppers were lush to ride. great rebuild!
LOVE the video style. Lots of other restorers/restomodders out there take note!
I am taking on my first mountain bike rebuild. A Specialized Stumpjumper, thank you for this video mate.
The self-removing stickers was a brilliant touch, cheers.
You know that you are doing well when the youtube algorithm recommends you to other users excellent video

Damn , that was the best rebuild video i've seen... great job!
Damn, not even new bikes can sound that solid. Well done.
Very nice , gives me inspiration for older bikes !
Wow brother! I enjoyed watching the restoration part! It must have taken a lot of time. Great work! I bet it felt great to ride once your work was completed! It all came together - it is a mountain bike!
Glad you enjoyed it
pleasantly surprised you actually rode it as a mountain bike instead of just turning it into a commuter bike like 70% of restoration channels do
Wow...what a rebuild.... you didn't miss anything... the detail you put into it was outstanding
So artfully executed--
Plus an equal is that run, the soundtrack, the tiniest crushes of dirt & stone..the various camera positions-- my god, what a labor of pure luv !
Christ All Mighty- this deserves an Emmy🎈
Nice rebuild, I like the Oldschool Bikes. Enjoy it!!!
nice built. Awesome backyard trail + riding + filming.
Good job
Just picked up one of these for a steal!!! 98 rockhopper in mint condition can’t wait to update and upgrade it so I can shred it! Great video!
Just got a 90 something rockhopper can't wait to bring it back to life
Amazing bro! Professional building, riding, vibing and recordings. Thanks for sharing, you're awesome.

I don't know why, but this era of 26er MTB is just so fucking rad.
I'm now a fan of your work.

Nice resto love the camera work at the end
