- In this video I will be reviewing the new XTOOL P2 55w laser cuter/engraver.

Lots of experience with laser engravers. I can actually smell this video just from watching it 🔥
LOL as a bachelor I had one in my living room!
@@robinson-foundry I’ll assume you weren’t a bachelor for long lmao
With the purifier?
Don't worry this isn't turning into a review channel. Please let me know if you have any ideas for how I can use this machine in future projects.
what about engraving your logo on leather?
Could you engrave metal with this? maybe you could make some cool engraved patterns on metal cups or something 🤔
You could texture your parts if theyre small enough to fit in
A co2 laser should be good on ali but I think brass and stainless need a separate diode. Dont quote me on that tho
I was wondering about cutting non ferrous metal plate?
Yeah, test it for etching your company logo onto things you've made. Surely it works on metals.
I love that you don't talk for the sake of talking on this video. It made it much cleaner and more satisfying to watch. I have no idea why some people think that you need to be talking or people will stop watching...
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
I use my laser cutter when I'm casting custom coins. (turns out I cast a LOT of coins nowadays) It's super easy to make sandcasting masters with runners included and engrave the logos both sides (using the original sheet of material as a jig to align for the second side). It even kind of automatically adds a little draft when it cuts, so make sure the parting line is on the right side.
Wow cool suggestion! I'm going to seriously think about doing this. What material works best? I would think something like MDF or HDF would work well. Thanks!
@@robinson-foundry I like acrylic for coin blanks. The cuts turn out drafted and polished without any additional steps, and the engraving is predictable enough that you can even get pretty reasonable (shallow) 3D shapes out of it.
I'll see if i can make up a quick reference video of my process.
Thanks I'll use acrylic then. Sounds like a cool project!
That was an excellent review. I don't know anything about laser cutters, but I found the entire video fascinating. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Indeed!
6:39 that's a surprisingly clever feature :o
I have their d1 20w pro for quite a bit less than what the p2 is going for, but if I decide to get a co2 one, definately will investigate more!
Xtool knows its target audience is UA-camrs 😂 can't wait to see all the interesting stuff!
They sure do! They gave these things to a ton of creators.
Since you do castings, will you ever use this laser to cut and shape high density foam layers that could be glued together and manipulated prior to creating the petrochemical sand negative spaces? I’m seriously tempted to get on of these systems but before Covid my wife and I were sourced into retirement and we now are living on social insecurity. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Enjoy your new too. Peace brother
Glad you asked for more ideas. I would love to see a portrait burned in! Can you simply drop a jpeg or some other image file?
Be cool to have the new base completely made using the laser.
You always put out good content...
Thank you!
You can use it to etch your company logo onto things you've made. I'm sure these work well on metals for etching, right?
Good idea! These things cant even scratch metal. They can blast anodizing and paint off but that's about it. You can use something called Cermark to bake a ceramic coating onto metals and that works really well.
Pretty cool!
Does this mean we might see some light engraving on some of your metal pieces you make now?
I wish but these things cant even scratch metal. They can blast anodizing and paint off but that's about it. You can use something called Cermark to bake a ceramic coating onto metals and that works really well.
Would of liked to of seen you show how the purifier was handling the smoke.
Yeah I should have shown that a little better. It worked really well. I couldn't see or smell anything coming out of the exhaust end.
Looks like a lot of charring when engraving and cutting...thoughts?
عالی بود 👌
درود بر شما 👍🏼
Xtool needs to send me the P2.
I'd be willing to do a review if someone gave me a $5000.00 laser too.
Are these money printers? I see a lot of laser cut items for sale online. Even those fidget spinners, I bet he made a nice chunk of money off that
A CO2 one is yeah, its got a much broader range than a traditional one
They definitely can be, but the market is very saturated with the stuff these things can make so you'd have to be creative. I did sell a ton of fidget spinners!
Warranty void if removed.
C'mon, who does he think he's fooling?! No way he's going to diss this freebie!
For that amount of money, you would think they'd give you a stand for the machine.
Ваш CO2 лазер внешне похож на наш магнитофон вм-12
Make a wood hammer with the face of Shrek engraved on the flat face so when you hit someone in the mouth it's like kissing Shrek.
edit: Or make knuckles out of solid and transparent plastic to make invisible knuckles.
Come on..."I was not paid for this review and my opinions are my own. ", you got a free very expensive laser. LOL!
Wow. x-tool are saturation marketing this laser. They're sending it to everyone.
I know what my 12 year old self would do with this, Print Dinosaur Skeleton Models!
I've been tempted!
make a small statue of yourself
Looked more like an infomercial than a "review."
So, everyone shoots laser engravers. Will not watch this time...
