      I am wondering if you compared the twinkle effect on both. Which one of the two gives better twinkle effects?

    The fact that the clouds are behind the moon irrationally irritates me more than it should...

    Umm... Not to be a Debbie Downer, but on both of the Moon & Clouds projections, isn't the moon IN FRONT of the clouds?? (Besides being humongous, I mean? Though if it's really that close, I guess it WOULD look mighty big!)

    I tested both devices and I found the FX model to be way better engineered than the ds1. Maybe I received a faulty ds1 unit, but the motor rotating the disks was noisy especially in the highest setting, also there always was a rattling sound when changing rotation direction. I think this came from the tray that you insert that holds the disk. It has two tiny plastic pulleys that touch the disk to guide it while rotating. The actual rotation is done with a rubberized pulley connected to the motor. The pulley touches the edge of the disk so there is friction. The FX has a solid gear wheel on all the disks because the rotation is done with a gear wheel so nothing can slip here and there is no friction. Overall for me the build quality and image quality simply was not good enough for the price tag on the ds1. The fx however I kept and found it to be very good...actually superior to the ds1.

    I would probably opt for a screen projector keystone it to my ceiling and run some universe footage or whatever and not worry to much about a dark room.

  • @majorbrighton

    Well it´s not nearly x6 times more, it is simply a ridiculous price, they have not come with new images either? So no incentive to buy at all.
    The moon still floats in front of the clouds, something that would make me send it back. They also have this mistake on the other projector?
    I actually thought the DS-FX gave more realistic lighting of the stars, as they are not blindingly bright normally.
    The shooting star is obviously not something they have seen in real life, amazing, why so bright and slow?
    They move extremely fast and their speed across the sky is their main attraction. Their version was way too bright and was like a dud firework.
    The real ones leave extremely thin trails that are gone as soon as you have seen them.
    600 dollars, I would sooner buy 6 of the other model and give them as gifts to children. Falling to sleep thinking about that 600 dollars would make my head
    aww stars on its own.

    A huge thanks for yet another expertly produced video. You do an incredible job with both production and communication. A quick question if you don't mind;
    Can you recommend any Aurora/Northern Lights Galaxy Star Projectors? Sadly most of them lack smart functionality and the units themselves look like children's toys. The best two I've narrowed it down to are Blisslights Velarus Aurora Projector and the Rosetta Star Projector. If you know of any better alternatives I'd appreciate your input. Perhaps you'd consider making a future video on this subject matter.
    Keep up the amazing work. Your channel is one of the best I've ever come across.

      Hey Adam, appreciate the kind words. I'm working on two more projector videos currently. One compares all the top laser star projectors (a v3 version to my current comparison) and another one coming that similar to this compares more realistic projectors against each other. Keep an eye out, As for your question, if you want that swirling type "nebula" I'd go for the Blisslights. They're an established company specializing in these type of projectors! There's a 15% coupon too right now here: amzn.to/3I4zHEm

      Maybe the regular disc on the DS-1, but not the chrome disc. These need near complete darkness to showcase their intended effect.

    Would have liked to see some commentary on the critically important rotation feature and what the speed is on the DX-FS. I have been in search of a good quality projector and have tried 4 so far and all suffer from the same problems: in rotation mode, every minute or so, the image lurches as if the rotator is "bumping" something on the way around. It's quite frustrating. It's most prevalent on the Laview, but very obvious on the other ones I've tried.
    Another issue is at times you do not see as much of a lurch, but the image goes out of focus for half a second and then returns to normal as it rotates. Finally, some of these projectors rotate so slowly that it doesn't add to the experience at all. I returned the Orzorz primarily for this reason. Is the rotation speed on this barely visible? I'm guessing there is only one speed?
    I considered dropping the cash for the DS-1 but get the feeling that the makers don't want my money as I've never had one of these before and they continually warn that if you haven't you should not purchase this. They don't give a reason why though, which is very strange.

    • @FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE
      @FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE  7 місяців тому

      I'd say the DS-FX is your best bet for rotation consistency or perhaps the flux. I understand the problem your having, but fortunately hasn't been an issue for me.

    Thanks for the comparison, I have a few open questions, which werent discussed in the video. Is the DS-1 worth the extra price in terms of projection quality? Is the projection of the DS-1 more in focus and sharper than the DS-FX. Would love to get a few more details.

    • @FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE
      @FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE  5 місяців тому

      Thanks for dropping the super! Is the DS-1 worth the extra price is tough to say. I'd say for most people no. However, if money isn't really a consideration, than yes absolutely the DS-1 is a nicer image, much larger disc with the shooting star feature and perhaps a tad sharper with definite brighter lamp. However, in practice if your in a dark room (which you need to be for either to work effectively) than I don't think spending 6x the price is justified at all. You can get 80% the way there with the DS-FX at nearly 1/6th of the cost.

    DS1: How do I take the disc out of its container? No directions and I’m afraid I’m going to snap it. Also one ‘brand new’ disc arrived in box absolutely filthy with prints of a dirty rag trying to clean it. 😢

    The freakin' moon is IN FRONT of the clouds on the 100 dollar projector, and on the 600 it is at best in a perfect hole in the clouds. lolz. Would not want either device. Sure they have other options, but that laughable lack of attention likely extends to the internals of the devices. Hahahahaha.

      Lol I can see a "setup tour in my new bigger pad so I can keep making these videos video" in your future future 😂. I have the govee curtains but something annoys me about them,I usually love all things govee but I find the animations apart from the sound reactivity a bit clunky plus they look ugly when not on so thinking the matrix with its higher density and sleeker design might be worth upgrading to. I'll keep my eye out for your review as I know you'll cave and get them anyway
