I was so happy to find this article on you, Dasia! I wanted to comment on your success on the first video that I saw about you, interviewing you and your science teacher for PBS, but the comments were turned off, sadly. You're such an inspiration. Overcoming monumental hurdles on a daily basis to accomplish your goals in science and beyond. I believe all things are possible for you and hope that you continue to reach for the stars. Your current work with sutures is life changing and can't wait for them to be available to all who need them. I firmly believe you will attain all of your goals. I've endured post op infection myself while dealing with a highly celebrated specialty group to perform a necessary surgical procedure. It took 4 more surgeries, during more than a year of treatment with very strong antibiotics and steroids, with open incisions, packing, cleaning, and bandages to attempt to heal from these issues. So I can fully understand the need for your sutures and the saving grace they would be. I wish you the very best and continued success and happiness on your journey. Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far. 👏🏻 🎉
Love this!
She is inspirational. I love her attitude and intellect.
We love this kid! Absolutely love what she’s doing with the youth.
Dasia you are AWESOME! I I don’t know you BUT I am VERY PROUD of you!🙏🏽🤩🥇🏆🔥🔥🔥💜💛
That is just amazing you go girl
She’s amazing! Hope she get the Patton before someone steals it! Great idea! Hope it works!how many have died because infection isn’t detected?
Protect her. 🙏🏾 They may also try to buy it for far less than what'it's worth. That's how KFC got their recipe from Miss Childress for $1,200.
Yes from trinidad where thevsad state of our public healtj hospitals have high post op infection rates😮
When I see amazing young people really making a change like this I ponder why they aren’t elevated. We should celebrate these individuals more than actors, professional athletes, singers, politicians, etc. Honestly, why isn’t Time magazine making them “persons” of the year!
What an amazing young woman! Thank you for sharing this. Would love to know the progress of her invention. She certainly has her sights set on redressing so many inequities and wrongs. Best of luck to her in her future endeavours! Do we see a Nobel Prize at some point?
❤
Wonderful love this and I will be following her process. GO DASIA!!!❤
I am so very proud of her.
I'm so proud of you Queen. Sky is the limit. ❤
This is good.
But from what I’ve seen from pictures, the sutures themselves, by their composition and how they’re made, attract or become a good milieu for bacterial growth.
Set up global go fund me😮
Eat your heart out Elizabeth Holmes!!
You wait and see. This invention will be stolen from her and ascribed to some other person who has financial influence. And her name may never be heard again in life after a few years! Happens all the time.
I pray that doesn’t happen, but we shall see.
