Hang in there ! We don’t want a world without “La Vagabonde”. Wish you the best with your boat repair. Great episode. That’s a unique place to sail. Thanks for sharing
I'm just an old retired IT manager living alone (but happily) in a tiny place amongst 2500 acres of pine forest an hour west of Augusta GA. Although I've never in my 73 years been out on any ocean, I've been watching all of your episodes for years. When I saw you'd added a new episode in the past hour or so, I was so relieved. Watched it immediately. Since the accident, I have been so worried about you, your kids and your team. When today's episode was over, I surprised myself by becoming emotional--tears and all--knowing at last that you were all OK. I hadn't realized how much you all had come to mean to me and, surely, to many, many others. Bless you all, and thank you for the massive joy you bring.
@@versedi you got a problem, too long to type, but you need to follow your own advice maybe and get back out and turn the media off. You’ve become too disconnected, some people are toooooo fragile and can’t handle this content and the FOMO and the basic envy. Just the absolute basic jist premise is that many people are too sensitive and jealous and envious and it’s damaging to them fear of missing out or dead of not being as cool and popular.
As a dad of 2 young girls (3.5 & 1.5) I love seeing how you guys handle the boys in stressful situations. Please keep the family “bloopers” in the videos, it’s nice to know it doesn’t matter where in the world you are toddlers are toddlers! Thanks for the videos!
Riley, you and Elayna are forces of nature! I think most people don't realize what it takes to be successful in life. It's many things but the main thing is determination. Every time you get knocked down you get up again, you focus and drive yourselves forward. I have such admiration for you both.
Thank you SLV for taking the time to post this after everything you’ve been thru since the accident. It was a really good episode! Kai is such a treasure-he is so reassuring and a total brainiac when it comes to fixing problems on the boat. Everyone was so natural this episode-I really enjoyed it!
Thanks so much Sue, glad you liked the episode 🥲 Kai really is such a special person. We’re so lucky to have met him at the marina we were docked at in the Azores 4 years ago!
Kai and Careen have contributed massively. ❤❤What incredible human beings you find to accompany you. This is the best crew ever. I'll miss Ellie and David - both are incredible too. ❤❤
Darwin is sooo in Tune. His gifts may appear as oddities, but honouring them as you do will allow them to grow into their full potential and surprise you wonderfully. Our son had clairvoyant tuning, and then was tested as highly gifted. He's an adult now and leading a brilliant life.
As a woman, the mental load tends to fall on us for a lot of things. It's so wonderful to have a partner acknowledge that. Well done, you two. Got my heart all mushy 💜💜
You guys are so awesome,. You approached the whirlpools with trepidation, and then went for it. The boys handled it very well too. Kai is a perfect mate to sail with, he is so cool and calm. Thank you for this great episode!
Y’all are such amazing parents. I know we only see a curated version of your interactions, but it is so obvious your children are well-adjusted, loved individuals. Kudos! Also, watching La Vagabond 3 sail across the water is so peaceful!! Thanks for sharing your lives l!! ❤
Watching the ebb and flow of team Vag is so inspirational. You all exemplify what it means to be human, working together, keeping each other safe and all the while negotiating your shared sailing lives.
EXACTLY...!!! Thank You, Riley !! For recognizing Elayna...and what she brings. There was a point when you were in Portugal and COVID lock down. I was sooo pissed at you, Riley. You were a spoiled caveman, with Elayna!! That it was all about you....and couldn't see the work and value, that Elayna brought!! That...I almost stopped watching La Vagabonde!! Thank You, Riley....you're finally growing up. And I can say this...as I have my own 62'-er. Doing about 150,000miles, sailing the world's oceans. As I also raised 2 girls as well!! Good Onya Mate!! Jeffery....💃⚘️
@MikeGibson-l5e You're missing the point, Mike...like Sue said. You're thinking with a male brain. It's about validating, with your partner. And besides....Riley or ANY male...is not the leader of the family. A leader only leads...as their partner allows them too....before they say...GoodBye!! And in Portugal...a Goodbye, was so VERY CLOSE to happening. As Elyana took Lenny and left the boat. And in those episodes...it appeared that Riley started to grow up. To learn what a man is!! Because the thing is, Mike!! A male is never a born a man...and may never...ever...become a man!! Until he grows into...learning what a man is!! And actually learns to carry the burden and responsibility of what a man is!! And after all of these years....Riley is growing into that....and you can see that in their relationship....!! It's not an easy life on a boat, Mike!! And merely because Rikey is a male...doesn't make him the leader of the family. It takes two, Mike...both of them...to lead a family!! Jeffery....⚘️
@jefferyjeffery1707 So very well put Jeffrey....you EARN being considered a MAN and a leader. You'll know you've achieved That Right of Passage when the men and women (people) in your life GRANT you that acknowledgment.
Absolutely stunning. Unparalleled content. In focus, challenge, direction, and intention. A mountain of work done. At sea. You make me want to write words that have meaning. Thank you.
Thank you again for another wonderful video. Even with the adrenaline rush of the whirlpools, this was a fun watch. From a distance and not having the day to day tasks of raising them, the boys are growing up too fast. I say the same thing about my grandchildren, understanding that as a parent it doesn't seem like it some days and you wonder if they are ever going to grow up. So glad you're relishing these precious moments. May God be with you wherever you are today, whatever you may be facing. You are loved. ♾
I have been watching you two for several years. It’s lovely to see how you support each other and are raising your sons. I know it’s tough right now, but we all care for you and are rooting you on from wherever in the world we are! Keep your spirits up, you will be able to extend your time in Japan. The people seem very friendly, and there’s so much to explore. Make the most of it, keep using Betterhelp for support, and maybe learn some Japanese while waiting for your boat repairs. WooHoo. Such a great video. Loved every minute. Especially Riles acknowledging Elayna for her hard work and gifts. More of that please. She is Super Mom. Love Kaj filming whilst you guys were away. He is a gem.
For whatever reason Riley talking about reefing the sail made all sail talk make sense to me, I understand absolutely every function of all items but I don't have the experience to know when. I'm from Iowa in the US and have never even been close to a sailboat so it's pretty cool to me and my mechanical mind I like to know how things work and you guys have taught me all I know. I appreciate these videos tremendously It has really pushed me to explore what I truly want in life and has made life much more enjoyable thank you guys!

Hello guys, so glad to see you posting. I just love being a part of your adventures, I feel like part of your family. I pray for you guys daily for your safety. God bless y’all from Haysville, Kansas, USA.
Elayna, I have been watching you guys from the start of your channel. Before kids, just you and Riley and I feel so proud of you. The woman you have become after the last years! I watch you navigate your family's spirit and path with grace and kindness! I adore it! My name is Katerina from Tinos island, Greece.I m sending lots of Love and positive energy for your travels!
I’ve been with y’all from the very beginning. Even patreoning back when I cud afford it. I have to say though I love all the sailing stuff and that’s what I came for but my absolute favorite thing is watching the boys grow up! They are already so smart and engaged, it just warms my heart so much to just see their subtle interactions and explorations. Legends in the making for sure.
You guys have such a knack of always surrounding yourself with good, decent, knowledgeable in their craft people! Kai is definitely one of them. I'm so glad he was the one with you guys on the boat when the crash happened, having such a knowledgeable, capable and levelheaded crewmate is such a blessing. Btw, on my mates' fishing boat, 'Fish & Chicks', when we go out fishing, he pops the little sail up like the one you guys saw on that boat and it honestly does work. It stabilises the boat, it definitely helps the rocking.
Omg!Guys! My adrenaline is racing thru my body watching you all going thru that!! You all are Amazing on the water. I get so excited for you. Love you lots 💖
Hi Riley, Elayna, the boys, and the crew, I just wanted to say how good it is to know you guys are safe and recovering. Great video! I love all the beautiful views of Japan and how well your lovely sailboat is performing. I started following your journey back in 2014 and have only missed a handful of videos over the years, so I'm proud of what the two of you have accomplished. All the best from a retired guy in Canada who loves your life and your videos.
This was an awesome episode! Family, Friends, Teamwork, Action. Love it! So sorry about the accident but i love watching your stories become productions! Love Love Love!
Again, you did such an amazing job combining informational content and story-telling. The shots of the Whirlpools are fascinating andI love the crew in all its different facets! All the best to you!
The small sail on the back of fishingboats is to help them keep the bow into the wind and waves when lying stationary out on the fishing fields. Normal here in Norway as well 🙂
Was about to say the same! And it helps a lot against seasickness. A light boat will wobble slower with the small sail so its easier for the brain and inner ear to keep track on the "ground"
@@woodruffashbourne8372it’s spelled y’all. Kidding of course. Amazing episode guys. And you’re right; Elanya is absolutely amazing in all circumstances. Seeing you praise her on camera warmed my heart.

We have been watching you since the begining and you still surprise us. What a lovely group of adventurers you are. Great to see the kids grow up. We have fond memories of our two boys who are now adults. Love your shows every time. Keep it up. Stay creative as you are.
That was an AMAZING SAIL, through those crazy whirlpools! OMG, Exhilirating and adrenalin producing to even watch! What a team you all are, boys included now, pulling up the anchor lines. Professional filming and editing ! ! Exceptional. ❤🙏
Naruto is beautiful place, and I crossed this bridge more than 50 times and I enjoyed this scenery all the time The shots of the Whirlpools are fascinating! All the best to you!
What a great video, thanks for all the work you did to create it. Elayna you were so cute, so many times in this, your excitement, even the nervousness. I'm so sorry that your accident has brought all the adventures in your boat in Japan to a halt. Thank you Riley for acknowledging all that Elayna does, I think alot of women do so much that is never acknowledged or appreciated and it can ruin a relationship and cause her so much grief by not being appreciated or having any acknowledgement. I've said it so many times I think your boys are living their best life. Take care ❤
Those whirlpools looked so frightening. Glad you got through (what seemed) so easily. What a wonderful crew! Thank you for putting together these videos even with your hands so full of everything else! Much love and prayers... happy sails are ahead ❤❤❤❤
You videos are truly mini documentaries. I so appreciate the journey we all get to take with your family and friends. I hope that you can get your boat all sorted out so that you can continue the amazing adventure you are on that we get to peek into.
great video guys - Elayna you are doing an awesome job creating more back-fill content! Those whirlpool were legendary - thanks for showing more of this beautiful country to us!!
That’s so incredibly cool… Lenny is a savant now and incredibly predicting things…! Your mother must be so proud - she must be beside herself with excitement
What an enjoyable sail - but I'm exhausted!! The whirlpools did me in. At the same time, how wickedly beautiful! Thank you and waiting to hear how you're all doing in real time!! I'm so sad/sorry that had to happen to you Glad to see you in the next video!!
As usual a great video. It was really nice to hear Rileys appreciative words about Elayna. Women really are often "unsung heroes", therefore we can get so frustrated if we get taken for granted!!! Love and hugs Gail, Czech Republic ❤️
Having a guy like Kai on board is amazing, someone keeping a level head and talking you through while you're stressing about a reef is one of the most helpful thing i could think off.
Yikes! I can't wait to catch up with the crash details. I check every day! Y'all are AMAZING! Difficulties happen, but they are ALWAYS paths to better - when positive choices are made. You can and will do it! I look forward to your future!
Thanks for this episode guys! Was really beautifully filmed and exciting! Love seeing you guys safe and happy. I hope all is going well regarding the boat crash and your insurance. Much love to you all.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey guys, thank you for I love this episode. It reminds me that you need to make bold moves sometimes in order to feel most alive and that life has to be lived in an adventurous way. I’ve just decided that I’m going to live in a cabin on a farm for the winter. Past 2 years I’ve been living with my sister and 6yr old niece which has been nothing less than a blessing. Been renovating the house which is almost finished so it’s time to turn the page. Looking into buying a boat as well. Not a sailing vessel but more like a motor cruiser or old cargo boat as I’m still tied to land for work but watching your channel has definitely helped in making the mind shift. As always, much love
Love love love you guys! I hope you’re all ok and not too devastated from the accident. You are an eternal source of inspiration to many….still. Thank you for all that you do to bring this awesomeness to us. Ive been with you guys for about 5-6 yrs I believe. Hell yes! 😂❤️💪🏼
4:30 *WOW!* shame about the plug BUT I absolutely know what you mean, I started following that random pair of "chancers" who got a boat on a whim and I followed religiously 🤤.... I stopped watching about 2-3 years ago because I didn't like how you guys appeared to have sold yourselves out... *BUT* today I got an urge to search for you guys 😁😁 so, so, so glad to see you guys have come full circle and are making real world videos again!!! - as for Lennie 🤯🤯 what a little gem you guys have raised! From Elana's little bump to major medical concern to well rounded young man!... 😊😊 Yeah you guys are nailing it! I'm re-subbed!
The two of you seem to be extraordinarily resilient and strong. This giant boat problem will pass - you will figure it all out. Life is such a rollercoaster, but as long as the four of you are safe, happy, and healthy all will be well.
I’m just in awe that you guys keep posting videos even after the crash. I love all the fun and goofballing around, the hard work, the kids learning the ropes one moment and just playing around and being kids the next, the fears, the challenges, the elation, the calm and quiet, the crashing waves, the amazing views, everything! I feel so honored that you let us be part of all of this. Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Well done, that was EPIC, you guys. Elayna, it's time to cut your bangs again....😃Riley, it is wonderful that you appreciate Elayna. I'm sure your fans who have been following you for years feel like we are all one big happy family!
OMG, as a former cruiser, the idea of having a Kai onboard, not only as a stable co-pilot when things are going wild at sea, but as a smart guy up in the mast, fixing complex electronics while I get to tour the town... And how about the talented ones making delicious meals? It's just amazing. What a dream life you and Elayna have achieved here. Well done!
I completely understand your fear around the whirlpools! We live near Old Sow whirlpool which is the largest tidal whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. It feels really intense to boat near it and there is folklore around it re boats disappearing into it! Another great episode from fellow sailors and now users of Sea People in Canada. Much love to you all ❤️🇨🇦
As always, another great episode. Hope you guys are all doing well and things are looking up since the accident. Never noticed until today how pick n mix Lenny's accent is. A proper kid of the world. One cool little dude 😎
That was ball breaking stuff, goodonya for doing it, I had no doubt that your boat would do the job, as a footnote, I have been watching young Lenny these past few months and watching his avid interest in aspects of sailing, tying knots, dropping the anchor and many other things, he will be your number one crew man in the coming years, cheers Lenny, you rock. 😊😊
Lenny's face when you asked him about the reefing lines! 😆It was nice to hear Riley acknowledge all of Elayna's contributions to your family, business and everything in between (not that I ever thought he was unappreciative). Sending best wishes to all as you navigate the accident and its impacts.
I was with Elayna on not wanting to sail through the whirlpools !!!!! Yikes. Quite a team. Love watching you and have for years and years now. Kai is such a go-getter, never leaving anything unturned.
Those whirlpools were astonishing. The power of them is quite alarming . Very true Elayna's attention to the family is understated. The architecture in Japan is so quintessentially enjoyable and basically superb. Dry jointed harmoniously configured joints of such exquisite proportions which you don't realise at the time. Your continuing accounts of life at sea and islands/countries that you visit keep me enthralled. I truly love all your episodes and recounts of all your thoughts, statements and emotions.. I am surprised that the damage to the boat hasn't restricted your mobility of sailing. The new idea that Riley has is rather interesting. cheers Paul.

Those whirlpools were massive glad you made it thru unscathed and had fun doing so . Thanks for the ride .
Naruto is beautiful place, and I crossed this bridge more than 50 times and I enjoyed this scenery all the time The shots of the Whirlpools are fascinating! All the best to you!
Elayna, you are such a natural in front of a camera. You would have found yourself on camera one way or another! You have so much pure joy. XOXO
Take care ❤
Kai is super smart yet so calm... love how Lenny sees him as a 'mentor'... great education for both of your kids! You guys rock! Happy Holidays!
Another wonderful video. So thankful for you all. Sending good vibrations for a speedy recovery from the crash.
Can't wait to watch next week. Really hoping that you made it to the concert. Wishing you all easy sailing.
Wow, what an exciting journey you're on! So fortunate to have a fantastic crew. Amazing.
Thanks!
Love your lifes journey. I've been following you for years. Good luck with the repairs. Just grateful you're all ok.
I'm so glad you're all safe. We were all worried. I also wish you all a Merry Christmas and the best New Year.
great video guys - Elayna you are doing an awesome job creating more back-fill content! Those whirlpool were legendary - thanks for showing more of this beautiful country to us!!
LOVED THIS VIDEO.
Got back to your roots and it was great. Thank you! Hope you guys get everything figured out. 🙏
That’s so incredibly cool… Lenny is a savant now and incredibly predicting things…! Your mother must be so proud - she must be beside herself with excitement
This was an amazing video. Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us. Praying for all of you and that things work out for you very soon.❤
Your kids have so many stories to tell already. Good job mom and dad!! Great video as always. Hope your doing as well as can be expected. ❤❤❤
I really like this episode, it has a little bit of everything we like about you guys. Thanks for sharing, keep it up and safe travels!!
Having a guy like Kai on board is amazing, someone keeping a level head and talking you through while you're stressing about a reef is one of the most helpful thing i could think off.
Thinking of you guys! Really happy everyone's all safe + sound, despite the drama
Much love to you all.❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a terrifying experience going through those whirlpools !!!!
What an AWESOME team work !!!
Love that you made it through all the whirlpools understand your heart pounding Elena!!! 🥰🤗
You guys are epic parents and partners. It is such a joy to tune into your adventures weekly. Love the crew as well!
Enjoying your travels, hope things get sorted as quickly as possible for you all .stay safe
Always a pleasure to check in on your channel. One of a very few YTs I watch consistently. Keep on keeping on please.
You guys best video ever! Perfect videography and story.
Merry Christmas La Vaga. You guys were part of my gift wrapping session. Thanks
The two of you seem to be extraordinarily resilient and strong. This giant boat problem will pass - you will figure it all out. Life is such a rollercoaster, but as long as the four of you are safe, happy, and healthy all will be well.
Well said! We love you La Vagabonde
Cheers Elizabeth, appreciate you! 🥰
Be safe out there !!! Love you all family and crew of friends! Thanks for great videos always 🙂
I came aboard when you sailed Greta and her dad to Spain and I have loved every moment since then! Sending you all my love! 💕💕💕
What an exciting journey, with the whirlpools and water currants plus the winds...
You are a lovely team with a network of brilliant friends
That my friend, is what you call the Motherhood mental load! All the things we carry!!
Keep up the good work guys!! Especially you Mama Elayna
I’ve been watching since it was just you and Riley. Really loved watching your journey, and where you’re at now. ❤
Your vlogs make my life happy watching your all time adventures.
Always watching you all xxxxxxx
Loving all the episodes filmed of your adventures sailing to, around, and into Japan’s inland sea. Primo content❤❤
Warm hugs to whole SLV family and crew.
Always love ALL these episodes !! Praying All is well with your boat and will be underway again soon!! 🤍🙏🏼🤍⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
Much love to you all ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so, so much for another fabulous video! 💕💕💕
Love Kai’s boat fixing vlogg🥳
Professional!
Adorable little ones helping out... very clever
Wow!! I was hooked on this episode!! Love you guys ❤
So exciting going through those whirlpools! It is all about the adrenaline rush! Allows us to understand our boundaries!
Hi guys! Been following and watching you for ages. Just thought since I’ve got gotten to like and comment on all the videos I would.
I was with Elayna on not wanting to sail through the whirlpools !!!!! Yikes. Quite a team. Love watching you and have for years and years now. Kai is such a go-getter, never leaving anything unturned.
Love you kids , great vid elayna you have a way with the cinematic world and so glad I’m along on your journey! The shorts go by too quick
