    I would not rebury the jar, she needs to do that, if she chooses. I would return it to her, just set it on her doorstep - do not repack the contents. Have it placed in a lovely wooden box. Place a note in there about how you found it (and her). Apologize for disturbing her jar, ask for her to understand you had no ill intent. No need to identify yourself or where you are. She probably knows about you, but does not need to know any details, as it wouldn't be important. I would suggest offering a gift to her - something from 1982 added to the box would be lovely.

    Mad respect for the efforts you made, both to learn about something you knew little about - and frankly looked slightly uncomfortable with - and to give her the respect of both attempting to meet her, and leaving once she made her opinion known. From what I know about Witchcraft / Paganism, a lot of it is about intent. If you were to rebury the jar and its' contents, do so with the intent of respecting this woman, her wishes, and her love for Grace Kelly. You might even say a simple prayer as you do it. I know your wife is wanting to avoid everything having to do with that jar, but having her there and requesting that she say something might ease her mind a little. That jar was buried with love and protection as its' aim, not harm. It may only be reflecting any negative thoughts cast towards it back upon those who think them as a function of its' protection. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Great video series! Thanks for your work!

    Good job on this dude. I agree with the guy who said the treasure in the find is the journey it takes you on. When you find a coin it is a commonly known thing. Fascinating especially if it’s old but easy to find out about. Well documented. Hell I enjoyed researching a vintage key I found on an old mining site. And researching the site itself. This find though took you someplace you’ve never been. Someplace wrapped in spiritualism and mystery. But you weren’t afraid to try and learn about it. Very valuable find. Something tells me this may have another chapter. Very cool dude keep on detecting thanks for sharing.

    This was extremely interesting. I had to watch all the videos. I collect old antique knives and finding out stories about who owned them is an absolute treasure. The stories makes the items priceless to me. I get the feeling it does the same to you. Have your wife talk to the lady. Your wife would probably appear non-threatening as compared to you to a little old lady.

    • @QuarterHoarder
      @QuarterHoarder  7 років тому

      Thanks Chris. Most things I dig up there's no way to trace them back but this was an exception. You may have better luck with tracing back the knives, especially if they are unique or if you buy them from the original owner. My wife is freaked out by the whole jar thing so there's no chance she'd knock on her door in a million years. I may try again in a few months when the dust settles.

      A fascinating Story. Thanks for doing the research. And yes, I would agree that everything from the jar should be handled with respect. I do know that the Forward Day By Day is a daily devotional so that one would include the Scripture reading and thoughts for the day Grace Kelly died. A lovely memorial... Although I don't understand the "witchery" part of it. I like the suggestion that you pack it up carefully with an enclosed letter about it. And just drop it off

      One time i dug up a tin with a handful of ashes in a bag. Figured it was a pet because it was such a small amount of ashes. I reburied that after showing the property owner. She didnt know anything about it.
      Being from the islands i would think its some voodoo stuff and would totally rebury it. As far as contacting her, i would say write a letter telling the whole story. Explaining metal detecting, briefly mentioning digging up the jar, talking about your recent education into witchcraft, visiting her house and finally how you reburied the jar. Id think that would get a response. In my experience, i find that the people who dont want to be around other people are some of the most interesting humans.
      Good luck! Happy Hunting!

      No need, spirits have a whole different set of priorities. She's been dead for some time, she has probably forgotten about it. Personal, yes, but chances are if she died someplace else, she is most likely not there. Even if she was there, spirits are for the most part helpless. I realize the fear factor, but I hardly think there are unknown forces at work. The spirit is not something that can just find you. I personally know regardless of what you see on tv. Even if most people don't see it, I have a skill set that has helped me understand everything so far. I'm trying to unlock the human mind. I'm convinced there is a way. Understanding these beliefs may hold the key. UFO's are not a new thing, they are plastered throughout the bible. These are the Angels they talked about . They drew pictures and paintings of these craft. A deal was struck with these beings so long ago, and although I have a idea what that deal is, I'm looking for the contract.

    You did i n d e e d find “treasure”!! You found a memento of another person’s life, and, as you said, the things she included in her cache were very much “treasures” that she chose with great care, not merely odds and ends from her “junk drawer”. After you’ve spent whatever time you wish contemplating these things - which I hope you understand will contribute some of your aura to the stash, so think kind thoughts! - please put all the items back as you found them, and, if you can’t RETURN it to where you found it, at least rebury it in a place that approximates its original resting place. Be well.

    Hey from down on the MS gulf coast! Man, I watched all three of your witch jar videos and I am telling you that they were so very cool. I saw several negative comments on the first two videos from people accusing you of not "respecting" the historical significance of your find. Then I saw this video and hearing you tell about the information from your research and listening to your story of visiting the lady. I'd love to hear from some of those nay-sayers if they were to see this video. Let me tell you man, I have nothing but mad respect for you after watching this video. Take care and HH.

    9:50 The piece of paper torn into a leaf shape? Looks like it might be a magazine photo of stars. Might they be stars related to the constellations on the map?

    Very cool, I use to detect, I stopped not long ago, my gears got stolen, not been able to buy new ones, maybe one day but one of the most fun for me was finding the historic of some stuff I found, I always looked at it as a big part of my treasure huntings :). Way to go, fantastic find there and good job tracking all of this.

  • @moronicpest

    Since you have her address, you could mail the stuff back to her and include a letter explaining who you were, how you came upon those items, and ask if she'd like talk about the meaning of those items to her. That's assuming you still have curiosity about them and her. My guess is that she might engage you at that point. She was probably intimidated when a stranger came around, and a letter would be a way around that hurdle. I suppose there is some risk in doing that though, since perhaps she'd be mad that you disturbed what she intentionally buried, and for that reason still wouldn't want to talk.

    • @QuarterHoarder
      @QuarterHoarder  7 років тому +1

      Moronic Pest I don't know if seeing the jar would upset her so I don't think I'd show it to her. I might be curious about this for years but I'm gonna try to let it go.

    she must have really cared for Princess Grace, At firrst I thought it was just things she loved. This was a very interesting find, and it is quite sad, she must have been too. A well wishing jar for her soul perhaps. The map is very interesting, would love to find out if you find anything to the west of an old oak. Take care man, and thank you for sharing.

    Well having followed the story since you first dug up those old mason jars it's been very interesting to see what has been found & buried for all those years & the meanings behind those jars. It's a shame you never got the chance to talk with her about the things you found but it has been a great story. You've done well tracing these things & investigating the story behind them. Big thumbs up from me. Looking forward to the next adventure, GL & HH :)

    Bud, disturbance. Where I live there's been many encounters. No one truly understands the spiritual world. The fact that it's been Disturbed; arise concern.
    If you haven't yet, this is what you must do; have enough decency and respect- inform the lady of your find (but I'm sure she knows) she will know what to do and she will instruct what should be done.
    Disturbance and (of) intention must be made clear..

    EARTH ANGEL😇. BEING me,I would have left a note, and yes, I would have told her about finding the jar. Who knows,maybe she has wondered for years if anyone ever found it, and your story to her may have been as interesting as hers was to you!!🤔😌💕 THinking about it now, you could still mail or drop off a letter to her and let the ball be in her court. Then you'll know you did everything you could.Maybe she is very lonely!?👍😬 I do so love your videos! Thank you

    Witch jars have been used for centuries it's amazing you found one but I definitely would not ask her about it I'm sure she would not be happy with it being Disturbed. Now that you found it and have a video and took pictures maybe you should put it all back that meant something to her. And as far as knocking on her door, I know when someone knocks on my door I pretty much tell them to leave as well, I think we just don't like to be disturbed or questioned or judged. But very cool find and very interesting video thank you for sharing
