This version of syttd is sugar, spice and everything nice... I've just seen few episodes and the consultant is so pleasant . The bride and the entourage this time were very mild mannered and sweet.

She looked lovely in her dress.. she’s is such a pretty girl and wholesome looking with her porcelain skin and dark hair that the simple lines of the dress was perfect for her.. Also she looks fabulous ... I can’t believe she just had a baby.. her waist is tiny.. her entourage was so supportive..
It's a bit rude to ask her to stretch the budget before she's even started the appointment isn't it? Fair enough if she fell in love with something outside her price range, but she hadn't even tried anything on yet.
Actually, I think it's smarter to ask then, Shannon, because if the bride tries on something and can't afford what she tries on, then it's really awkward.

@@SuperLovehp Vows is a mid to high end designer dress shop. Even their highest discounted bridal dresses don't fall into a low budget. She might as well clarify if the bride can afford to shop their before trying them on.

Probably need to hunt it down on UA-cam or see if TLC has a way to subscribe to the show. There are so many versions now that I can't keep up- the original, Atlanta, Canada (with the stunning young woman who rocks a hijab) UK, Lancashire and Ireland. I also found a French version the other day! (Sadly, I don't speak French, so I didn't finish watching that one.)
This and the Lancashire SYTTD are great. Lovely, helpful and charming people in the shop and genuinely sweet brides with a delightful support group. Plus both have beautiful, slightly different dresses - or at least dresses that are to my taste - that don’t cost the earth.
That's it! I'm flying to Ireland so this woman can adopt ME!

People don't realise how expensive Ireland is sometimes tho
If they want budget dresses then they shouldn't be shopping at champagne taste boutiques. Many of the high end boutiques don't carry all the lower priced dresses. There's a shop on the east coast of the US called Vows where they go shopping at other boutiques and buy previous season gowns for a fraction of the price and then sell them for half of the original price.
Technically, they were under the mom's budget by $600
they were underbudget

@ I know that euros are their currency. I meant that Euros have a much higher value than US dollars, what is it like 2.50 to the dollar? They're asking them to increase their budget by $2,500 US. That's crazy.
Moira Anderson 1 euro is equal to 1.12 usd at the moment- strong dollar or weak euro, I suppose. The increase in budget is a max of 1,112usd.

Since I moved to Ireland I realised that what I had observed in all our years holidaying here from UK was correct, generally happier people who want the best for others even if they don't get what they want. It is also a much friendlier country, well certainly where we are i rural Co Galway. I so wish we had here many years ago and not just 2 years ago when we had to juggle lockdowns in 2 countries, 3 if you count having to travel through Wales to catch the ferry.
As much as I love seeing all the beautiful dresses, I really enjoy hearing the stories of all these brides and all the trials they overcome before getting to this point.
