- Jessica Monahan and her mother are set on getting a tea length wedding dress but when a full length gown takes the young bride's fancy, mum is not too happy.
Catch Say Yes to the Dress on TLC - Sky 133, Virgin 162, BT TV 323
She looked very nice in ALL of them. Mom in NO way turned into a 'Momzilla' (thankfully !) She was very supportive. Good for them !
That's what I thought. Mom was really sweet. Title is clickbait
Although the tea length suits her..... I'm glad that she chose what she felt beautiful in 😊
Me too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sometimes a tea length dress can come across as a grown woman playing dress up, it doesn't suit everyone. She picked the perfect dress for her.

I hated it on her. She looked way better in the dress she choose
@@SASSY13169 Yes, they can look costumey.
Full length gowns gives a slimming effect to curvy brides.. always better than tea length, but even the tea lengths were really pretty and classy on this bride.
Agreed, and she felt beautiful in it.
I agree!!!#
Oi, you, we can wear whatever the hell we please and slimming effect be damned!
That's not always true. Apple figure may look better with shorter dresses because a long dress make it seem as if the whole body is as big as the top
The long length and the vee neckline were so flattering and feminine. Glad she went with the long gown.
"... it was made for her, not me". Love that part! She made the right choice! :)
Tea length
Lol the Irish version of a "controlling" mum "you're the one who has to wear it, not me". I love the Irish version of the show, the people are just nicer ❤
I was just thinking the same, lol.
The Irish “guilt trip” is real tho. Coming from a large Irish family, there’s nothing more devastating than hearing, “it’s up to you, but….”. Oh, Lordy, if you don’t follow that suggestion, life will never be the same lol 😉
@@tales.of.adventureSo true!!!
Glad she chose the long dress..It looks way prettier on her than the T - length dresses.
Yeah, it gives her the full princess look.
I agreed. The dress she chose looked flattering on her. Tea length looked good but full length is her go
I read motherzilla as mozzarella in my head lol
Edit : Thank you for all the likes ❤
Lol
Me too lol
lol me too
Sameeeee
You need to go out yourself some cheese, 🧀 because it sounds like the subconscious is telling you something. 😂 That, or a pizza - with extra mozzarella.
I'm glad she chose the dress with the lower neckline. She has a bit of a short neck and the lower neckline helps lighten it up. I'm also glad she chose the long dress, it suits her beautifully.
Absolutely! The second dress was so flattering, especially compared to the first. I was really surprised at the initial negative reaction. And Franc is one of the best, along with Randy and Lori!
Ireland episodes are sweet n pleasant:-)
Less drama I guess
Thanks, but being Irish, I have a feeling any episodes showing so many of us having such gooey warm and sweet talks all the time, are seriously edited. 😉

Yes. The ppl are all so polite & chill. It’s a nice change from the American version.
We are generally very down to earth as people. That applies to weddings too
this mom is actually super sweet! she obviously loved the idea of her daughter wearing a wedding dress like hers but she was so understanding about the fact that it wasn’t her dress and her day.
Daughter: "I fear my mum is going to turn into a Motherzilla"
Mum: loves every dress and supports her fully on her choice.
Finally a mother who speaks the truth. “I don’t have to say yes to the dress, you do. I’m not the one wearing it.”
But at the same time, the daughter wants her mother to love the dress. It would have been nicer for the mum to be more positive and supportive in her language.
Bless her, i wish she tried more long lengths
I just love the Irish sense of humor! When she says, "I really thought the cryin was just put on, on these shows", just heartmelting how happy she was, and how beautiful she looked!
I like Franc. He seems so personable. And I love this version of the show. I can picture being in this shop with a cup of tea and truly enjoying a fitting.
He had a brilliant show on telly called Brides of Franc.
Wedding planning,he did a Harry Potter theme wedding it was amazing,he is so good at his job.
Hopefully it's online somewhere.
The other guy is a man, or a woman?
Heck, I'd come and make tea daily to hang out!
@@emilyflotilla931 I'd love a day now and again with Franc and brides but even more with Gok and Jo and Al
This young Lady looked gorgeous in every dress. I have to admit that once jacked up, she looked like an angel in the long dress .
oh man she looks great in everything she tried on
I love the Irish accent. “Mohdderzillah”
This mom is SO lovely and respectful! I have seen moms get WAY worse than this on the US and other UK version.
The bride is so beautiful look at her eyes , hair and the way she talk 😍😍
She look pretty in each and every dress.. and that dress she choose really suits her. Look stunning
The accents... I just want to... lurk in that shop... and listen to everyone small talk.
I Love every consultant in this shop. They really mean it when they say they are rooting for the bride. I Love the dress choices for this lady. I Love the checker shoes, too. :0)
SYTTD Ireland is the very best.
I love the people, the atmosphere and they are all so sweet!!!
I really like Say Yes To The Dress Ireland. Probbaly more than the others. It feels so genuine!
And classy. The dresses are real and beautiful and so are the people, not an attempt to make a spectacle. Franc behaves like a gentleman. He doesn't call eveyone beautiful and turn it into a trite greeting. This whole show is heart warming and natural and puts every bride to be at ease. This is the royal family of Yes to the Dress.
I love her choice. I liked the tea length a lot, but the 2nd one looked lovely on her.
Having said that, how utterly lovely are these people, staff and clients? Never seen the Irish one before.
I love her mum. She said it beautifully, when she pointed out that she's not the 1 wearing the dress. Her daughter is. The bride looks lovely in her choice.
Oh...I want to get married...
But don't know with whom...😭
Zindagi jhandawa, fir bhi ghamandwa
I just want to try wedding dresses on without getting married. I want to play dress up
@@pinkheart315 same!
zindagi is complete jhandawa Why???
@@loganbothwell543 because it would be fun
She's beautiful and the dress she picked up was the best one.
Absolutely gorgeous. I felt tears well up when I saw the floor length gown. So gorgeous😍😍😍😍
She looked very beautiful in all the dresses!!! The long gown she chose was just perfect!!
Honestly she looked amazing in all of the dresses!
either knee length or long is best for us shorter gals (I'm including myself ). The tea length makes us look even shorter and wider. Congratulations Mum for loving your daughter more than a particular dress length!
Yes, the tea length cuts people off and makes them appear shorter than they really are.
I love how she came into the fitting with an idea, built when she found HER dress, she knew it was made for her xxx
I love the full length dress on her.
Me too
Bride's first dress...breathtaking. she's a gorgeous bride
I love what the second dress does for her back tattoo.
Tea length dresses make the bride look like they're going to make their confirmation or smthg
Take a shot every time someone says “T-length”
No! Don't! You'll die! 💀
I took a toke instead. 😤😵😴😴😴
I’m so glad that she choose the second dress it’s beautiful on her
That dress is so amazing on her. I love she went with the dress that made her the happiest ❤️
aww so glad she found her perfect wedding dress and her friends and family loved it as well!
so supportive
She's a lovely young woman in a lovely dress. She will look beautiful on her wedding day.
Everyone is saying I love how calm us Irish are but it’s not always like that haha
Yea like when the Irish get angry they GET ANGRY
@@emilythara06 we do.We are also LOUD
The long sleeved tea length and the 4th dress looked AMAZING on her but I’m glad on her final choice
shes so beautiful!!
I’m not a fan of t-length wedding dresses. So glad she chose the long one. Beautiful!
I’m really glad the bride chose a dress she wanted - felt like her mum kept pushing for a tea-length 👗
Lovely sweet bride. She did look wonderful in the tea length.
Oh! She is Beautiful in the first tea length dress! And she glows in the long dress, she is beautiful and the dress is beautiful on her!
First episode of SYTTD Ireland and I am definitely not disappointed! Beautiful bride, nice family, beautiful dresses, and kind consultants.
Love the friend who said "well put it back on!"
She looked great in everything, I'm glad she picked the one she loved.
Well done! She picked the right dress! She looked good in it!
I really think she should have chosen a longer non tea length... she's offered also forgetting that the style her grandmother got married and was the style for the period. We're no longer in the 40s or 50s
- 0:36 I want one of those little *pin cushions* you wear on the wrist. Just for walking around.
- 1:45 Why are *people in Ireland* so good looking? They always have a couchful of goodlooking girls on this show. 😄
- I really like the *tea length.* It depends on what it is! a) I like the name, 'tea length.' 😄 b) I especially like it when it's a full, 50's style skirt like here; then the dress it still dramatic. c) _How_ good did brides look at that time, late 50's/early 60s? So chic, with their little pointy pumps, and the bridesmaids standing around in their pastel-colored, full, tea-length dresses, maybe with a little hat! And gloves!
- I think - I don't know why… that that 50's look looks really good on *brides with glasses.*
- I love *this show* the best. 😄 (Though the *Lancaster* one is a contender. Irish people are lovelier than *English* though (who are nicer than *Americans,* at least bride entourages (the *Atlanta* show is appalling) - but then the American show has *Randy.* And the UK show has *Daniel Emanuel,* who designed *Princess Diana's* famous, absolutely _iconic_ dress… The *curvaceous* show from Essex is lovely too (those ladies, plus they do their job a thousand x better than the defunct US plus size show). So I guess they all win in one way or another. 😄 (Except the *Canadian* one; dull as dishwater.)
- I didn't expect this bride to have a big back tattoo!
Well done you look beautiful in the longer dress - you can wear a tea length dress to any old garden party xx
what a sweet young lady, every happiness
I feel the dress she choosed was the best. It made her taller, the neckline was the most flattering for her neck and arms, and it made a nice figure for her. Plus, is her wedding, not her mother´s
I don't know if she's just tense in the the tea length dresses because she loves the long one so much, but the tea lengths seem like they're smothering her. She looks so elegant in the long dress though! ❤️
I was surprised at how lovely the tea length dresses looked.
She is soo beautiful in her final dress!!!! loved her
Her mother is so sweet!
Oh my god I think the mum is wearing the same glasses I have. I'm only 30! How bloody depressing.
ahhhh so sweet...and that man is adorable!!!
This bride looked lovely in every dress, but when she put on the full length she saw a bride looking back at her in the mirror. I think mum needed to rock the tea length dress at the wedding. I hope she found one that she loved.
The second dress was very flattering.
Glad she chose that one. Very nice
What I don't understand is why her mother couldn't see what her daughter actually looked like in the dress. With her physique, the tea-length dress made her look shorter and broader. The higher neckline made her neck disappear. The long dress elongated her and had a slimming effect. I am so glad that she stood up for the dress that she wanted.
These consultants are so warm
I love that she walks out in every frock confident. No body issues... This is me and I love it!
I actually love the tea length but definitely the longer dress is pretty.
Congratulations on the bride picking the dress that made her feel beautiful no matter what her mom thought. #beautifulbride I got 14 days until my wedding
Hope all went well? Many happy years to you.
Love the dress she chose. It’s the most flattering on her. She looks beautiful.
She looks so lovely in every dress she have tried. Her mom also supportive
She looked so beautiful 😍
I wanted to see her try a full length dress in the same style as the crisp "plain" (but actually the most beautiful) 3rd tea length one she tried on because the vibe of that one suited her so beautifully!!!
The longer length was more flattering for her short upper body. Tea length draws a lot of attention to ankles which is great for slim ankles.
I absolutely love that consultant and this girl picked a beautiful dress on her
She is beautiful ❤️💕💕
AIN´T THEY SWEET?
IN THEIR OPINION SHE LOOKS GOOD IN ALL THE DRESSES!!! ;)
She looked lovely in all the dresses! Awww! The tears, DECIDE!!!💓💓💓💓
personally, i think tea lengths make one seem shorter, especially if the bride is curvy
It can make a bride look more like a First Communion girl than a grown woman. Audrey Hepburn looked great in hers, but that was Audrey; and I think there was a reason this length didn't stick around. :-\
Laughing at "curvy".
She looked gorgeous in all those dresses!
The first one flatterd her the most but the one she picked out made her look really pretty
She looks beautiful in the full length dress.
This bride is beautiful
The mum is quite sweet!
She arrived for the 1st dress and I was like wow so beautiful!!
Beautiful bride, beautiful dress...🌹
Love no 2!!! It elongates, so romantic and elegant
She looked so much better in the tea length dresses, they really did suit her.
Am the only one who thinks her mom is forcing her for tea length dress
free spirit me too
Well she definitely visioned her daughter in that but she didn't get angry when the bride chose the full length dress so this one is ok there have been far worse situations
The daughter initially and even later said she really thought she wanted a tea length. A lot of times we think we want one thing until we try something different
His checkered shoes tho 🔥🔥🔥
Yea, I was wondering why nobody else was talking about those shoes! 😳😂
She looks taller in the long dress 👗
The long dress looks so much nicer and she looks comfortable in it
I think the long dress make her look talles, specially from the back, and the neckline was very flattering
Her hair is so sleek and shiny :) The first dress would have been perfect if it was floor length.
So cute when she's crying
Wow, she looks great in all of them I think. Beautiful
Tbh that first dress looked beautiful on her!
