  • In this video you can see how to make modification & permanently FIX low oil pressure on low RPM (red oil light on low RPM) on OPEL Vauxhall etc GM engines with oil pump installed on directly on crankshaft with same issue.
I highly recommend this modification-repair on all engines who start to show up oil light on low RPM as well preventive on those engines who are in good condition, & before installation on brand new oil pump crankcase cover assembly( remove plug & make modification no mater if its new). This modification will significantly extend the life of this engines.

Really great discovery , thank you. I suspect the same, while my Z10XEP begins to rattle on high RPM, after ~30 mins of Highway ride. The hydraulic lifters keep on crying contiously even after slowing down, but they get quiet again in further 20 mins of low ridig. It doesn't appear in short city routes, only at long ones, on high oil temerature, and high RPM. It is strange that the (almost new)oil pressure switch doesn't send warning at all.. My relief piston can be stuck too or restricted in sealing. In my opinion, such a gap can be blamed also for the short rattles by the startups. (I've already changed the drain valve in the oil filter housing). The question is, whether my mechanic would bother sanding that tunnel.. He won't invest any effort to manufacture a custom plug for the spring for sure. I don't want him to take the chain cover down for this either, while the valves are also accessible taking down the sump. I can olny hope that a simple cleaning of the tunnel and a new piston would help also.
