Bishop Fernandez was just recently made Bishop, and came from the Cincinnati Diocese. We miss him here and his enthusiasm for the faith. It's not everyday that you get a priest (Bishop in his case) who is Holy, knowledgeable, and loves the faith. He started his priesthood off at a Latin Mass parish in Cincinnati (one of the very few) and incorporates the Traditional Latin Mass rubrics into his Novus Ordo Mass. The last parish that he took over in Cincinnati was a very liberal parish (in my eyes, as far as the Mass went) and going to Mass there was like going to the airport lounge with their band and drums etc., and I personally felt worse for having gone there because it was so loud that you couldn't even hear yourself pray. When he got there he quickly got rid of that abomination and started using incense and the Traditional Chant etc., and schooling the parishioners in the proper way to worship the Lord, and respecting the eucharistic presence without giving long preachy discourses, and the parishioners responded positively to his Mass (as far as I could tell. My original Parish was a five minute drive from it and I went to some of their Masses because we were experiencing a shortage of priest and Mass times at mine had changed). The parish he took over had just been hit with scandal from the previous pastor who was caught sending inappropriate text to children, so he was accepted to come in and clean up the mess from that situation as well. He didn't stay there long before being call up to be Bishop over Columbus but he made an immediate impact. That parish has diminished a little in some respects going back a step since his departure, but they're still a long way from where they were. The west side of Cincinnati where I'm from still has a significant number of Catholics, although most were poorly Catechized and have only a vague notion of what that really means, but tradition and family runs deep here and they are hungry for the Truth. Fernandez will make a huge difference in the diocese of Columbus, and hopefully it will filter down all the way back to Cincinnati where as you've mentioned our Bishop here seems to just go along with the latest trends of the destruction of the Church.
Bishop Fernandes is allowing the Latin mass to continue. We love Bishop Fernandes. During Holy Thursday, he went to the prison and did washing of the feet to the inmates. He is trying his best! 🙏. Yes, he is an immigrant from India. I believe most of his siblings became physicians. He went to medical school but he realized that his calling is to become a priest.
I had the opportunity to know Bishop Fernandes when he was a priest in Cincinnati. To say the Diocese of Columbus is blessed to have him is an understatement. He is both brilliant and very humble, as well being a stallwart of the faith!
Our Catholic identity- I remember as a child - though some Protestants didn't like Catholics, but admired and respected the faith as they had nothing to back their beliefs. Some loved the stability of the Church. Today- so many bishops don't care but more people are waking up.
I am a protestant who used to be a Cub Scout Leader at a Pack that was chartered to a Catholic Church in California. I was there because of the people in the Pack. Bishop Fernandez needs our prayers and support. Stand firm in the faith against the mob. This sin that is being pushed should be called out. We are all called to repentance for our sin.
Similar thing here in the diocese of Reno Nevada. Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg got rid of a heretic priest. That Newman center (our lady of wisdom) was so liberal it was considered a joke. Thanks be to God that Bishop took the lead, fired the priest, and changed things around for the better. We just had record mass attendance!
We are so very thankful for Bishop Fernandez! He finally did what should have been done at the Newman Center years ago. The students finally have their chapel back. Our bishop is not liberal or conservative… he is CATHOLIC.
For the clergy, religious, laity of the Catholic Church most especially me and my family: My adorable Jesus, may our feet journey together, may our hands gather in unity , may our hearts beat in unison, may our souls be in harmony, may our thoughts be as one, may our ears listen to the silence together, may our glances profoundly penetrate each other, may our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father. Amen. ❤
Religious conservatism is not political at all. Its simply upholding the foundation of the faith. It’s only perceived as political by others, who oppose these truths, attempt to impose their own “feelings” upon others then call those who do uphold their faith bigots for not “ keeping up with the times “. Keeping up with the times is the the dumbest reason to oppose a religion.. it may make sense for a politician to stay in office but not a bishop trying to salvage souls.
Bishop Fernandez needs our prayers. The Newman Center on the OSU campus was so liberal I could not stand going to Mass there.
I went to college with a woman whose now a FOCUS missionary there, hopefully that’ll change things around

God bless him!

We just had the good bishop to our parish this past Friday for Mass and a Eucharistic Procession! I thank God for Bishop Fernandez!

I am a revert, but when asked, I say I am an intentional Catholic. Discipleship flows from my commitment to Christ and His Church.
We need more Bishops like him.
I knew him when he was in Cincinnati, a VERY solid priest!
Brad, you are not doing your job if you don't alienate somebody!

I think bishops should also provide guidance on who to elect to public office. Guidance is not endorsement. Guidance is simply giving pointers.
Well, I can confirm my Bishop is not good but I pray for him.
Timestamp 11:34 - It’s not about being good. It’s about conformance to requirements.
To your guest who said the church is viewed as being run like a corporation and that’s wrong, I disagree.
Church Militant itself has pointed it out.

He was just made a bishop,he came from Cincinnati
I'm keeping an eye on latest, Pope Pius XII covered up a UFO crash.
Support good bishops as Fernandez and expose liberal bishops as : McElroy, Supich, Stole, Gregory, all the LGBT+ supporters.
Panned?
If don't creat controversy and call out what's wrong then you shouldn't be a leader
❤️
Are Newman centers still RC ?
like it
We love the Bishop
To be radical or conservative is not Catholic it is political.
Practicing the Catholic faith makes you a conservative, and disagreeing with wokelings is radical in their eyes.
