      Sexual harassment Panda that's the really fucked part. I mean if these laws actually helped I, might have a different view point on this, I certainly wouldn't like not being able to own certain things but if everyone else was happy I'd let them have it their way. It's really fucked though how every time it doesn't help, and crime rates get higher so they just go and restrict everyone's freedom even more.

    I'm sure I've said it before, but thank you so much for your selflessness and openness with this design, it really shows the character of the guy behind the youtube union.
    On the bow itself, I'm surprised you didn't mention my favourite little aspect of it: You can (and did) stick your thumb up on the magazine at full draw, which must make it very easy to maintain fully spanned, and I'm sure it helps with steady shooting as well by using forearm (i.e. hand) muscles 'locked' in place rather than shoulder and back muscles that can quiver and move about all over the place.

    My wife has a bow that is too strong for her, and too short for me, he just lies idle. With this improvement, we can both use it, and it's that simple, a minimum of tools, easy to do in a couple of hours. I went to buy arrows! I want an instant legolas! How lucky I am to stumble upon this wonderful channel!

  • @GiaZera
    @GiaZera 5 років тому +3

    Not first, but for once I caught this pretty early. Great work on the revision, Jörg! While being able to use full grip under the magazine is definitely an improvement, I feel like a catch loop (though using such a device would slightly reduce rate of fire), or some type of handle (maybe something vaguely spherical so it's easy to let go of, but coated in a grippy material like latex to prevent accidents?) tied to the string would serve as better alternatives. Those are just my inane ramblings, though.

    Joerg, I have watched every post, honestly, I trust your choice, therefore please pardon my suggestion; you said a thousand dollar masterpiece. Yes, I believe there is a market just for that, a personally designed bow, by you. There are millions of Millionaires and far too many Billionaires here in the US that cost is no object. The selling part is a masterpiece one of a kind. Give it a try, even if you have to get your own sight to sell it, there is something else DVD's of all your shows with detailed instructions so dummies like myself can build a working bow.

    I am beyond impressed Joerg, and I do hope that one day we see these being produced for purchase one day (With your name on it of course). However it does make me wonder: If this system was able to improve on this cheaper Chinese Triangle bow that much, what could it do for the other 2 higher end bows you showed us in the previous micro bow video? ( The LibertyOne and the Gearhead T18) I'd have to imagine they would perform much better with this system.

  • @gibbeldon
    @gibbeldon 5 років тому

    How about adding a railgrip to the right side of the shaft to draw the string?
    I imagine a mounted rail ridden by a grip with hooks above and below the shaft for the string. The hooks have a release on the grip.
    As long as the grip doesn't stay in a cocked position on the rail (which would be neet) it is no crossbow, or am I mistaken?
    This is due to the fact that you still have to hold the string by your own power, which is easy with a compound.
    Olympic compound shooters use a release aid, maybe something similar can be done here. Replacing the grip with a loop to pull with the release aid.
    That way you could draw the string evenly and still be comfortable.
    Also I'd think you could draw the string faster with a grip.
    A hooked grip would be better to ensure a longer lifespan of the string. Maybe it is possible to combine the pullback action with a release aid.
    That is something I'd like to see with the next iteration.

    Love that ingenuity! I wonder if you were to use something smooth, like plastic, for the arm holding the arrows down, would it help reduce the friction and increase the speed? Or maybe a small wheel at the end of the spring loaded arm so it can roll along the arrow rather than rubbing against it. Keep up the great work!

    • @Slingshotchannel
      @Slingshotchannel  5 років тому +2

      That would only work for the very last arrow. Otherwise the friction is between the arrow in the groove and the one above it.

    • @Slingshotchannel
      @Slingshotchannel  5 років тому +2

      @@kirkw1740 Even that would not work as the friction is between the two arrows, not between the arrow and the frame. The pressure is also required, otherwise the arrow would jump out of the groove. Much like the spring clamp that holds down a crossbow bolt. Keep in mind these arrows don't have nocks.

    If Joerg sprave had a laser cutter he would be arming the whole prepper community ^^
    And ofcourse save him alot of time.

    I think it would be much safer to have the arrows run on aluminum rails (and less friction). Any pitch with the arrow and you will have it punching through the walls and seriously cause some potentially dangerous issues. Nevertheless, it is an incredible invention!!!! At least you are wearing your safety shirt

    I think you should put some kind of 2 or 3-finger grip on the string to make it more comfortable to draw

    A draw handle with your locking design similar to that of your muzzle loader collaboration design would make a really neat triggering mechanism.

    Your workshop looks a bit like mine, except for the plastic garbage bags, but I even detected a yellow mail transport box. Good example that you do not need a fancy workshop if you are a brilliant designer overflowing with creativity and humour.

    Oh man, seeing that 15 in arrow drawn back with the tip just floating around behind your hand made me nervous vicariously! Probably just because I've snapped my forearm with the string so many times lol

    I love this Joerg, this is the modern version of the korean Tong-Ah. Problably could design it to shoot smaller bolts.

    @JoergSprave you are a genius, and a madman! Hey, I got an idea... How about put one of those repeater magazines on a slingshot? I mean a SLINGBOW of course. In other words, JUST GET RID OF THE BOW! the same mechanism, same handles, basically just tack an elastic band on the outside... In other other words: a stick that shoots arrows.

    REVERSE CROSSBOW Joe! Try making it on a reverse crossbow. That will make the bow compacter and get more power on a smaller stroke.

    2:19 Jörg sei vorsichtig. Ich als Bogenschütze kann nicht laut genug betonen wie gefährlich das ist wenn dir die Sehne mal fliegen geht.
    Dennoch wieder ein super Video! Viel glück übrigens mit der UA-camrs Union! Ich verfolge es durchweg und drück euch die Daumen!

    Here it’s one more challenge !!Wonder if you ever Fly fishing. If not you should try something nobody ever build, because of the complexity involved in to build a fly casting device to cast either way , a single hand fly rod as well two handed fly fishing rod 🤔
    Thank you for sharing your work, is just brilliant 👌👌.

    An old archery trick is to load the hollow arrows with a string to add weight to a light shaft. ( or perhaps a rubber band since this is the slingshot channel 😉 )

      You'd have to pump many times for a shot. Pump action is a very weak way to invest muscle energy.
