I’m not a hater, but this is kind of a “sellout” deal. You talked bad about these before and made me even question why I was using them so to see you make an ad all excited to use them surprised me
Respect for getting yourself into the 9s especially with not that much drag racing experience. I’m sure if Cleetus or James were to be there you would have gotten more pointers to get into the deeper 9s knowledge is a huge factor with drag racing
It’s the torsion diff causing the excessive sway up top. When you shift, it unloaded the diff and power alternates between the wheels. Torsion diffs are great but not for stick shift drag racing. Load needs to stay applied.
@@lewlingar9524I wrote this at the start of the video before I watched it, as in this is what I was looking forward too 🤙the last track day it was a sloppy boat 😅
Amazing to pull a 9 with a manual and a circuit style gearbox! I'm sure I would have got a 9 even earlier with the ZF transmission but this is way more rewarding. So glad.
Have you looked in to a clutch slipper valve? Not great for drifting I'm sure but for drag racing it's amazing. They're also adjustable so could potentially just leave it on the car an adjust it when you need to
Sean's filming was hilarious😂 The Mustang has plenty more left in it; next step some skinnies, a clutch release valve and a (long) road trip to Cleetus and and the crew to dial in that launch. And for the 4 rotor; get a good digital vacuum gauge. The manual ones are hard to setup right. Find one in the motorcycle world where they are still common. VacuumMate is a durable one found in a lot of shops and I found very nice to use. And a good oldschool tip on getting a good baseline at idle; use a needle to adjust the throttle body's to at idle position (so lay it under and adjust accordingly). This way they all get a equal gap and (if the housings are of good quality) equal vacuum. Often 1/2 are linked as the baseline, 3/4 are adjusted to that. Doing it by ear might get you started but there's a lot finetuning that's really worth doing in using the gauges. And o yes the TPS often has a reset function in the ECU to relearn the range of it's TPS sensor(potentiometer) but you've probably figured that out by now😉
Hey i gotta say the soldier stick connectors are awesome and a game changer. I love electrical work and they will definitely help. Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered me some
Just a friendly word of advice for the swaying. It’s highly recommended to run a bias ply front runner with a slick like that in the rear. Running a radial in the front and bias ply in the rear can cause you to wreck bc of the difference in stiffness of sidewall.
Hey Adam In Australia we have 7 second passing Barra's on the 1/4 . Talk to the guys at Dandy engines in Melbourne Australia Keep pushing the Barra Cheers
Even though I love the drag strip content for the Barra swapped mustang which is turning out pretty damn solid....... the sounds of the 4 Rotor just hits different 👍
when you sync the throttles without a vacuum tool, turn the engine off, take a 1/8" drill bit a stick it the throttle blade of the master throttle and use another 1/8" drill bit as a feeler gauge to set the others. that way the throttles are opening the same amount. you can not feel enough difference just holding your hand over the throttles. this is step 1 with any itb setup before tuning but i use it to base line the throttles if things are acting weird.
You need to link up with the mechanical stig, his youtube is Benny's Custom Works. He has been drag racing a Barra Cressida for years and could help with set up
Doing to long of burnouts can cause you to lose traction instead of gain traction. The compound becomes slippery instead of sticky. Tire temp sensors can help determine where to stop, or have cleet and the crew check it out. I'm sure it could handle the boost you had it at with a proper burnout.
@@runespaze (if you're talking about the USA) Not on newer cars, NHRA changed that a few years ago when factory cars started running 9's after they banned the Challenger Demon, cars newer than 2014 don't need a cage to run 9's, for 8's you still need safety equipment.
Congrats on the new record pass Adam and the crew! It would be awesome if somehow a Canadian won the giveaway (especially someone that purchased tickets to go the LZ Tour in Toronto) ;P
You got his bro man. Should definitely be talking with cleetus an haven him help you get were u want. That car's got plenty of power, just need to get itto launch an keep in power the whole time.
If you’re wheel hopping you need to replace the bushings in the rear. Wheel hop comes from front to back movement of the wheel in the wheel well it looks like the wheel hops in a circle.
Should put an electric clutch delay valve in it, Magnus Motorsports makes one that takes a signal from the ECU when launch control is active and allows you to just dump the clutch and it slips the clutch to get perfect repeatable launches
Biggest issue you have is your running a gearbox and clutch setup that's going to take a heap of testing to get right. Many drag guys with manual boxes run clutch solenoids to control the clutch engagement. Maybe they might help?
If you do want to run a tire with some side wall while keeping the front tires on as is, run a mickey thompson ET streets or pro bracket radial. Stiff wall DOT slick basically. i cut 1.5 60s with a cam only ls1 and a t56, dumping the clutch at about 6400-6500rpm. over 6000rpm allows the tires to spin just enough that it doesn't dead hook but still rides out. i run 15-18psi in the tires, cars about 2900lbs with driver.
Very nice! I race out there also but its so damn HOT out I don't bother to go to the track until Oct/ Nov. Your car would be a good race for my stick shift S197. I wish they made that inline shifter for the MT-82.
I cant say your the fastest but you're def one of the best improving driver's I know . This my back up acc, but been following you since I could remember. That being said have you thought about maybe you got a fault engine , cuz it happened to me when I blew my 427 roush and bought a new engine , they gave me a fault engine , It only lasted month
Stop messing around with the handbrake on the start line and you will be in a much better place to launch. If you're having issues with rolling out of the start beams install a lineloc with a trip switch on the throttle. If you're handy with arduino microcontrollers you can trip the release with a voltage signal from your TPS.
You need to put a scramble button just reprogram your windscreen wiper washer button to turn on the scramble will make heaps of difference in your times
You need to change out the ring and pinion to the next lower set that way the first gear won’t be as long and you’ll be able to run out the rpm @ top of 6th gear.
As an Australian my suggestion would be shorter diff gears. Try 4.11 or even 4.56 as a ratio. this will make first gear a lot shorter and allow you to be making the most of the sequential
I probably would have went up a couple psi in the slicks . The sway goes away do a hot burnout and send it . I run Hoosier QuickTime pros at like 17psi and the car hooks like a mofo
I know Drag Racing isn't really your thing but we need to either take the Barra Mustang to a race or build a true Drag Car for the channel!!! Loved This Video Sounds and Excitement Were Top Notch!!❤

Adam is the cosmo build still happening?
Adam LZ Awesome Video I'm glad you ran a 9.87 in your Barra Swapped Shelby GT350 and I can't wait to see how much faster she can get
Who woulda thought it was harder to zoom in a camera than it was to break into the 9 second bracket.
Adam's face at 13:13 when he realizes the cameraman missed the first 9 second pull
Gotta take cleetus for a rip or let him take it for a rip
Cleeter could get that mug into the 8’s within a week
He’d find the weak link for sure!
U have to let cleetus work on it so you can do 9’s or Better
Him and Jackstand could get it down the track faster or help diagnose, James' knowledge is immense
Adam doesn't want Cleetus to brake them comfy stock seats like he did with the Datsun 🤣👍
You should definitely do a drag and drive once you get it fully dialed in
Agreed
Sickweed
gotta do a race week brotherrr

too much time to dedicate for one thing with questionable return given he doesn't have car of mullet caliber

Good on ya. These modern cars are much, much harder to launch and run than the classic muscle cars. Awesome

In Australia you have to run skinnies with plies or slicks.🇦🇺 You also can't run 10s or under without safety
