@@AJUSA1 i think it needs the chassis control fixed so the magenetic dampers work again. He explained they're broken right now and basically do their own thing.
@@TranceFur The IRS likes to dance so you need damping control to get into the nines leaving on a 2 step. He should probably swap those malfunctioning shocks out entirely anyway even if they aren't completely broken and then he still should get the stop the hop kit... ALL the fast Gen 2s have that done. Possibly needs axles and driveshaft as well but he's on an odd motor and trans setup so it's hard to say on that. He should also be on a bias ply tire like a hoosier quicktime pro... specifically Hoosier 17604QTP Quick Time Pro DOT Tire Size: 28X11.50-17LT QTPRO works well for manual boosted coyotes to get into the 9s... stick cars struggle on radials. But yeah, if his shocks were somehow malfunctioning he could improve a bit just fixing them... but he still will gain more with the stop the hop kit and bias ply tires like the quick time pros.
What a lot of people often overlook in drag racing is suspension. Suspension is VERY important when it comes to your launch. It needs more compression damping so it's not bottoming out and some rebound so it's not bouncing out like it is. Give 'ol Jackstand a call, he'll tell you what you need to know.

dude this is exactly what i said. i have never seen a car move the way his did on a drag strip. it looked like a 96 ford explorer with all 4 shocks blown out going over some railroad tracks.
@erikkhyndman9184 naw I mean Cleetus... Correct the whole FF team is what makes the dream work, but Cleetus is the one signing everything and that owns the track to be able to have him back down. Hands down get Zach on it and James and get Cleetus for the actual driver tips and its a dream.
The barra is a bloody good motor, even more so when they've been worked. I've tried explaining to people how the power feels much different to other tuned cars, almost like you're going into a warp speed. Once I took then for a ride in it only then they understood what I mean. Very good torque
I think you nailed it with the suspension being the problem. Look at the difference in stance between your car and the GT500 at 18:47 and the rest of that run. Your car bounces every shift, and while part of that is likely the fact that yours is not a DCT, it has GOT to be causing some of your traction problems at launch and on the street. BC coils? Fixing Mag? who knows, but I suspect that might get you more time than pushing power into it at this point.
Definitely would like to see you work with James/Cleetus on getting the suspension + short track figured out. Having the drag racing content sprinkled in is super fun and cool to see you getting deeper into another Motorsport.
Always lower tire air pressure in steps until it smooths out the magna-ride suspension. That is the biggest problem for your suspension. You will be happy with your 60 foot times. Yes, sometimes a slight clutch slip helps with better ET's made. With over a 1,000 hp, the clutch has to be considered a wearable replacement item, so that the rest of the drive train does not become a wearable replacement item. Keep at it, and eventually you will reach the wanted ET goal. Good luck with everything.
After watching all of the launches, your stock suspension needs one thing, which is lower gears in the rear end to match the transmission first gear ratio. You have plenty of top end speed, and believe it or not, the 60 footers, and ET will dramatically drop while your mph increases. Talk to a couple of the major rear end shops for calculating the best gear ratio. Maybe a 4:30
@Latezen the rear is a bouncy castle because the front is coming up so fast making the rear off load. Both ends need work but the front is coming up way to fast.

How the rear end is currently making front end come up slower wont improve the overall suspension setup for dragstrip that much.

The BarraStang is a straight monster but I think the next step needs to be a 4 Link rear end. That will help with traction and be able to almost have unlimited adjustability on your suspension.
Adam, call Kelltrac (Kelly Aiken). He used to work for BMR, But he is THE KING of S550 suspension. Almost all the guys doing no prep and big dog races use his setups. He's local too Bradenton/Tampa too, and he will get you dialed.

Ill tell you an s550 secret. I own a 2016 gt350r btw. Mine still has the voodoo, but my grandpa and i went completely through it and solved all the oiling issues, i did copper head gaskets, titanium valves, valve springs, retainers, rods and full exhaust in ti. It has diamond billet pistons, custom ground cams just on the intake side. I gave it more lift and duration while obviously retaining that DIALED fuggin LSA they provided from the factory. THANKS MR.SHELBY!!! My dogs name is Shelby. She was born on May 9th 2012. Those of you who dont know, thats when the man, the myth, the legend, Carol Shelby sadly passed on. I have another younger female pit bull who i named Carol. I shit you not. So when i call my dogs its pretty awesome to any mustang guys in ear shot. Anyway, if you dont know, the rear suspension on s550 actually gain negative camber the closer they get to the bump stops. So instead of adjusting your camber when the car is at ride height, i put a ratchet strap through the rear subframe and ratchet that bitch down to max weight transfer when i do drag race it and set the camber accordingly. Obviously you have to find a happy medium because if u zero it out at full bump, youll have too much positive camber when she flatens out. I mostly just rip Mt.Rose highway and scare the absolute shit out of my lady, i road race it too. Ibdo not drift my gt350 simply because they were not built for that in any way, shape, or form. If you want to drift an s550, buy a regular gt, hit up drift domestic and get their entire front knee assemblies, im sponsored by fortune auto so, they provide me their triple adjustable units which are actually better than any KWs ive ever owned.
Installing something like the Steeda “Stop the Hop” kit or BMR equivalent preferably would help immensely if you haven’t already. The rear subframe in this car is not mounted tightly enough even with stock power. Steeda Drag springs would also help a ton. Thing would be dialed after that.
I bet the magneride is just completely off which then defaults it to the lowest viscosity, and therefore the softest setting it's capable of. You get that working again and it'll clear that right up.
The car needs some suspension upgrade, I don’t remember if you ever changed the suspension in the rear, but it may need some suspension parts and tuning to see if that help your launch and slip less on the launch
after you figure out what's going on with the magnaride I think bc makes coil over that are compatible with magnaride for it. also you are the reason why I got my magnetic metallic gt350 love this content
As an Australian i am glad to see that this car is finally doing what it should of been doing, & its good to see you finally into yet another aspect of racing *drag* But Adam a GTR or Evo with a sequential & rolling anti lag is way more fun, plus we hurt the big barra turbos at roll racing here ;)

My favorite car on the channel, love the Barra GT350.
US dynos are so kind, a well set up TT coyote powered base model here in Australia runs up near 150mph with 800Hp or less in some cases.
That squat shows the power under grip, very nice, time to build up the back end :D

Learn a couple things from Cletus, you need to leave at like 6k and slip the clutch out. Leaving at 4k instantly bogs it out and hooks up
