great reaction. id definitely recommend more 'stars in reasonably priced cars' segments like this from top gear. there's a bunch of people you're aware of who've been on. hope you and queen boomer are enjoying Greece! best wishes from England.
the whole point about the 'Reasonably Priced Car' is....they're incapable of reaching 80 mph one episode the 'Star' was Slash the sight of him trying to get the helmet on over all that hair was hilarious but then he closed the show by playing his variation of the theme tune which is Jessica by the Allman Brothers
Before they changed the car from that Suzuki Liana, he was beaten by Ellen Mcarthur, she had (probably still holds) the world record for the fastest solo circumnavigation in a yacht. Edit: She did that in 2005, was beaten in 2008. But she's still only one of four people who managed a world tour without stopover or assistance. She did it in 71 days. (Some quick Wikipedia-ing.)
She also circumnavigated Great Britain on her own .... when she was 19! I am the same age as her pretty much - I was not circumnavigating anything but the local pubs in 1995, lol
I’m glad you put that on here. I remember being a little bit fed up of hearing about the “oh-so-bloody-wonderful” Ellen McArthur at the time. Then she was on Top Gear, I watched the interview and I was instantly hit by all the things that everyone must’ve noticed before me. Charismatic, humble, funny, just a joy to watch. I’m gonna try and find that clip, might be worth recommending to KB. (Also, wasn’t she made, like, a Dame or something?).
lawsuits for injuries wouldn't even be a thing if you had universal healthcare. The fact that there is a monopoly making people billionaires on people getting sick or dying from injuries, means that people wouldn't be bothered to sue if they were able to get treated without being made bankrupt
Oh, you gullible child... you think that thousands of people aren't getting rich in universal healthcare countries? It was a feature each week that they would get a celeb to do a lap. They purposely chose mediocre "averagely priced" cars so anyone can participate and change the car every 3-5 years. They even do a separate board for F1 and rally drivers, who seem to take it more seriously than their actually championships because they've kept the same car for them for the entire shows life, so they get to compete against all the most famous drivers like Schumacher. After Jonothan Ross got his BBC chat show cancelled there was a sudden re-booking and Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz went on Top Gear instead, Tom Cruise was like a 5 year old let loose in a candy store he was so excited xD Simon Cowell takes it really seriously and came back later on to try and take the lead back.

The hot lap is a mark of pride amongst "stars" and Tom Cruise did a lap, check it out! You actually get three attempts and your best lap is shown but they don't advertise that.
They changed the rules with the second car (the one before the Kia cee'd) you were allowed 5 practice laps and then the 6th lap was timed, which is why Jimmy was last in the second car because he spun it on his timed lap. Had to check and it turns out that Jimmy Carr was beaten by Ellen MacArthur by 0.2 seconds (total time 1:46.7) before that car was retired. The interesting fact about the Suzuki Liana from this clip is that it was also driven on the same track by multiple F1 drivers. Kimi Räikkönen did 1:46.1 on very wet track and Lewis Hamilton (won F1 championship 7 times) did it in 1:42.9 and the best time ever was 1:42.2 by Daniel Ricciardo. The fourth musketeer of Top Gear!
I'd recommend watching some never mind the buzzcocks, hilarious! Frankie Boyle hosted a few of them shows, Simon amstell is funny on them too
That was the old car, they set a new board for every new car they get, I think there has been two or three cars since then
"if you come to the states please do not....." Actually just do not bother going, you can't get sued then..... hopefully no one sues me for saying that 😆
Have a look for the Dangerous brothers 😜
The car registration had 52 as the first two numbers so it was a September 2002 registered car.
Lil note,Jimmy was doing 3x the national average mileage in his car, average on this lil island is just 10,000 miles
I wasn't doing 115 last night on the motorway taking my dad to accident and emergency for them to say its a 7 hour waiting time to which my dad in a lot of pain said forget it I then drove him to his
gp dismorning and he is now staying overnight at AnE so they can diagnose what's wrong with him anyway u can speed in England very easily its a case of necessity
I've never even met anyone who's been sued. The US is weird.
Star In A Reasonably Priced Car has to go on the list
Jimmy Carr stayed on the top of the list for a long time if I'm not mistaken
A league of their own is a good comedy sports quiz and they have a new series showing at the moment and in one of the first episodes Jimmy carr crashed.
If memory serves, he stayed at the top until they got a different car, which he was then slowest in (or very near the bottom).
Ellen MacArthur was the only one who beat him, on that car.
the way to win is drive like you dying for a shit need the bog lol
Check out Stewart Lee - Top Gear
Huh, Jimmy Carr lives up to his name, I guess 😂
I think he stayed the top of that particular leaderboard but every few series they changed the car and start the board from scratch again
He stayed at the top for quite a while actually
Jimmy has had a lot of work done in recent years, and it is a constant source of jokes on Cats does countdown etc. A bit of surgery on the face, teeth done and hair transplant as well.
Nothing wrong with wanting to look good
@@petervan1353 Did I say there was? Just pointing out why he looks so different now
@@caphowdy666 I like you comment and true there was nothing wrong in your comment it was just a statement. Then again Jimmy Car isn’t know for velvet gloves. If he can give he should also be able to receive!
@@petervan1353 all good dude
@@caphowdy666 The internet is sometimes tricky in how you read a response or interpret a response!. Good to know were good
There is another side of the appearance with Jimmy giving a tour of Top Gear set and it is hilarious. Here it is- ua-cam.com/video/s1wYIENPkk0/v-deo.html
It would be difficult id imagine for an American to sue a tourist if that person hadn’t actually broken the law, they would just go back to their home country and you could ignore any lawyers letters
I got sued once, well nearly, I settled out of court with a baseball bat. Not a squeak since from the plaintiff
Pretty sure Simon Cowell came back for another crack. For something that was supposed to be a novelty it became pretty serious. The leader board part anyway
When is the next Inbetweeners episode out? I’m itching and sweating like a crackhead. I need my fix. It’s been 4 long days
