This is enough information to get the novice dead in a hurry.
Your priority is your freezer, period. Not lights, not other things. Protein is possibly the most important macro nutrient in a WROL scenario. Run the freezer at night after the Li batt has a full charge. If you still have charge on your Li batteries at the end of the night, then communications, NV, Thermals (assuming you have enough people in your group to stand regular watches). As the presenter stated, your DC water pump is priority if you have a well. Otherwise, learn about solar stills.
PVs (photovotaic) panels - If I'm a raider, I'm looking for PVs, whether on the roof or in the yard. PVs tells me you have electricity, and therefore food (and maybe frozen water bottles) as well as other things I might want.
    - Keep your PVs hidden from sight as much as possible, while in as much sunlight as possible. Don't expect 12 hours. Expect 4 hours (very) best case.
    - Expect 50% output from your PVs, not 90%. This is real data, not best case from the manufacturer when the sun is shinining directly overhead. How much sunlight is really hitting your panels? Two 100W panels should be enough to keep your food frozen, assuming you have enough sunlight to charge your Li battery. I see the presenter is in the Upper Sonoran Habitat. Things are different in Florida and elsewhere, so expect even less return on your PVs.
    - When not in use, keep your PVs unplugged. Remove the pigtail. Doing this, they might be able to weather an EMP. Otherwise, current flow will fuse the P/N junctions of the PV, rendering the panel useless.
Light Discipline - If I'm a raider, your lights will attract me like a moth. 'Nuff said. Likewise the sound of your gasoline or liquid fuel generator.
Car Batteries - The longer they sit in a discharged state, the less of a charge they'll be able to take, due to the buildup of lead sulfate (PbS04) on the plates.
Gasoline can store for many, many years without treatment. Keep it sealed, like in a thermos. Real GI gas cans work well. Gasoline is a mixture, with many of the components having high evaporation rates. When those components evaporate, you're left with sludge. So keep the cans well sealed.
Just because you've done it or are doing it in a civilized, polite society doesn't mean it works in WROL. Remember, Grey Man tactics matter.
Likewise, consider the notion that if you somehow survive the first few months of SHTF, 80% or more of the population will be gone. Those remaining will most likely band into small groups. Car batteries? A car driving down the road will be a lead magnet.
About Me: I'm a retired engineer. 33 years in electronics, 4+ prior to that as an industrial electrician. Out of the 33 years, 18 were R&D as an engineer, with approximately 4 years prior to that working R&D as an electronics technician (top of my pay grade). The rest of my time as an ET was working cutting edge guidance and seeker systems. Digital, RF systems primarily. Some software.
.And finally, I have nothing against Armored Republic. I have several sets of their armor, and wouldn't trade them for anything.

i would also add lead acid batteries they can withstand an Emp and dont have a Bms

Batteries in general are impervious to EMP. The electronics in a BMS will probably be immune as well, assuming the battery is disconnected.
Cables are antenae, which gather (collect) the EMP energy. Expect our power grid and communications to go down in event of an EMP.

So Mark, thank you so much for watching and commenting. We disagree with your assessment regarding the freezer is the ultimate priority and your assumption that there will be food to freeze. In this video, David (the presenter) lived for a quite a long time off grid. This isn't theory for him. It was his life.

    • @MarkRose-s9l

      @@TheArmoredRepublic I respect your assessment.
Thank you for your comment. I realize each of us may experience things differently. Each of us may have different priorities.
My post is based on my strategy, should SHTF. And by SHTF, the worst thing that can happen where I'm at is the grid goes down. No more water, no more sewage. You get one flush, so decide if you're going to drink the water in the toilet tank or flush the toilet.
If the US is invaded, or if the Cartels attack my neighborhood, I'll defend until I'm dead. That won't take long, and so long-term preps are a moot point.
I lived off grid for a year or so. No water, so I hauled it from town. No electricity, so I made do with wood I gathered, blocks of ice, oil lamps, and hand tools. I was limited to eating canned beans and tortillas and peanut butter because of my lack of refridgeration. The ice didn't last very long, even when stored in an ice chest.
My paragraph was a bit awkward. Priority One should be water pump (if you have a well) until you've stored up water to last a while. Then top it off periodically.
Even so, an above ground cistern is something I'd look for if I was a raider. It tells me you probably have a well and electricity to pump water.
Likewise, above ground swimming pools tells me you at least have water. What else? It'd be worth investigating.
      Next comes the freezer.
The freezer priority comes with the assumption that you're a prepper and not living paycheck to paycheck or wasting your money and health by eating at McDonald's every day. Live game will be hard to come by. If you have animals like goats and chickens, I'd still stuff the freezer and top it off during good times.
This is what I do now. I don't have goats and chickens. Buy your reloading supplies or manufactured ammo, body armor (from The Armored Republic - it's good stuff), NV, Thermals, and any other gear you think you might need during the good times. I have three man-years of food put away. Buckets of grains and legumes. A bedroom full of shelving, loaded with Spam, etc.. This accumulated over many years. Don't go into debt, despite any panic or sense of urgency you might feel.
And don't forget to pick up barter items and handouts for those in true need.
Kept goats and chickens are something I'd look for. Easier than hunting or trapping wild game. The raider, if he is thinking properly, will steal them for the eggs and milk.
My strategy is to keep such a low profile that my house gets passed up by raiders. Let them go to the house down the street. I'll watch and observe, and maybe have an opportunity to take them out.
I can move throughout my house without lights. Yes, batteries are important, but they're low on my priority list. I buy CR123, CR2032, AA, AAA batteries in bulk. (American brands. The Chinese brands are crap.) They're not rechargable (even though there's a very high probability that I'll have electricity in a grid-down scenario), but all I have to do is wait it out. Then I can scavenge more or figure out an alternative. I run constant comms with rechargeable batteries, listening, not broadcasting. I keep two sets of batteries on constant charge.
My freezer's full. It's filled with meat, jars of tallow, some butter, some bacon. I dehydrate the raw beef and then grind it into powder for a meal supplement and for making pemmican. I give the pork to my dogs. They're very appreciative. I buy tallow by the five gallon bucket and transfer to jars. Animal fat, like protein, is a necessary macro nutrient. Carbs, not so much. I wish I had the room to get another freezer.
If I was starting from scratch, I'd buy Spam and canned beans. Multi-vitamines. Batteries, flashlights (don't forget to learn and observe light and noise discipline). Then split peas and lentils (they cook quickly and don't use much fuel). Rice (same same). Stockpile water and learn how to harvest more. Firearms and ammo (of course).
Don't panic buy. You're only wasting your money.
Eat the canned food first. Cold. The scent of cooking food travels quite far. I can smell cooking rice from a surprising distance. Likewise the smell of a wood fire. My gasoline stockpile is for heating water only.
This assumes you've decided and made the adjustments necessary to hunker down instead of trying to live a "normal" life during WROL. Like I stated previously, what works in a civilized, polite society may not work during SHTF.
I've been doing this for most of my life. Since the early '70s, with the exception of my time in the military and college.
