I thought the Brets were hosed when you dropped so many pegs in the first turn but it turned back quick when you lost your steam tank. Very cool battle
Good game lads, enjoy these short form reports. Quick question regarding line of sight. At 7:44, appears you've shot your skirmishing Outriders into those knights, what did you come to regarding how many had line of sight vs how many were blocked by models in their own unit? Were the 4 left-most Outriders in the rear "rank" unable to draw line of sight but the rest ok without cover modifiers?
@CamWhiteDentist yeah sweet, wasn't implying otherwise, just confirming my understanding of the rules. Skirmishers shooting around each other model by model and determining line of sight, -1 or -2 cover, feels a bit clunky and often felt my group were doing it wrong 😂
@oldworldfanatics I was watching a few short battle reports of your mate Sean, he took a high elf list with skirmishing Sisters of Averlorn and had each rank overlapping in such a way that no model was entirely obscured by another in the front "ranks." So possibly you could. My only reservation of that is that any overlapping/obscuring line of sight creates cover so the ones behind the front rank would be -1 to hit (or -2 to hit if the overlapping was in such a way that >50% obscured). Be good to hear Sean's opinion and how he plays it seeing as he has those helpful rules videos.
@@euchenecheffaw2017 Sisters of Avelorn have "ignore cover" so they don't care. But in general it's unclear if a skirmishers own unit provides cover, the FAQ unhelpfully clarified that they don't grant cover to themselves from enemy shooting. But very unclear if that goes both ways.
I feel like whoever wrote the Brets armylist just looked at Questing Knights like the 6e book and figured they were defensive knights. I think their role is to still be proactive, they're just supposed to throw themselves into the enemy's battleline and use Stubborn and high WS (mitigating enemy return fire thus combat res) to gum up the works. It's still pretty niche tech and despite how much I love my questy bois, I'm not sure if they make the cut compared to just aggressively taking more pegs and grails.
@@nehrigen Brets have like... 2-3 bad unit choices in the whole army. It's not really cheese if your army is like... the battalion box and one unit of the best unit in the list and one unit of the worst + elise and a mounted bsb. Brets are just good, but barely have any options in their roster. Empire are bad, but have almost 3 times as many choices.
16:19 Lady Élisse Duchaard only got a 6 up armour save so you get no armour save and then failed the ward save, *Edit* Did she have The Lady's Gift (Signature Spell) if so why didn't you dispel it as it only a cast at a 7, so a 4+ on 2D6 not that hard.
@@CamWhiteDentist Remains in play get reduce to the minimum casting value. Pretty much so you don't have to remember the casting result. It needs to be clarify by GW when spells have 2 casting results.

Great looking models and enjoyed the batrep.

Yep, Col did all the line of sight correctly. He rolled well, I rolled bad. Good times were had by all

Yeah has me wondering if you can come up with some weird movement tray to maximise LOS :)

Awesome battle. Where did you get the mat and the high elf sceinery?
And what is painted is done beautifully.
Hi! What grass gaming mat are you using?
Great report - enjoyed that.
Great bat rep, very watchable format!
Dang, looks good. Keep the reports coming! Can I ask what you filmed this with?

@@oldworldfanaticsthere you go folks, if you have a phone you can do a battle report! More Warhammer!🎉
Awesome!
Empire is strong, but only when you avoid taking the trash options. A hellblaster and a cannon would have done way more than the steam tank too.
Also, the bretonian army is tournament level op list, so this battle was only going one way here.😢

When it's cast on a 10+ it's a 10+ to dispell, I thought that was in an FAQ? *IMMEDIATELY STARTS GOOGLING*
Also, I am having a memory of a 3 being rolled in the attempt to dispell

360 flying circus/horn combo is toxic/typical broken GW rules writing at its worst, how has it not been faq'd yet?
It should affect all flying models friend and foe.
Also shouldn't effect gyro copters etc.
Why TF shouldn't it effect "gyrocoptors etc"?
how have dragons not been nerfed yet
