Hey we're in Victoria too! Glad to see some fellow health + homesteading minded people, and Christians too?!
Haha you two are me and my wife to a tee. Very similar supermarket choices (from the good side). Good work guys should be more of it 🤝
Loving this Video. It's so good to be diligent in taking care of vessels, and what a great example you are being to your kiddies, learning and installing this in them right from the start. Bless you guys and great to see your looking better!
You guys are so good. Love the mic on the spatula. You guys rock ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this, you guys are so inspiring and it’s nice to watch people who are still learning and growing as it seems so much more doable.
Brilliant video guys! We are also two Melbournians slowly making plans to homestead in rural vic to escape the ever tightening grip!
Keep up the good work!
Much love from the Mornington Peninsula
Hi guys! This video is great! I’m so impressed with this video!
I’ve been making food from scratch since before I had kids! Now there in thier teens.
I had to laugh at the vegetable oil we only buy it as an accelerant for the fire pit and charcoal bbq 😂
Juice we don’t buy it’s too taxing on the liver from the sudden influx of fructose.
We make do make aqua Frescas which is water with poreed fruit to flavour water and monk fruit or allulose to sweeten. We are also a sugar free household.
Gtreat work guys. I have a friend who lives in wee jasper and she has been self sustaining for over a decade. When she lived in Sydney she turned her front and back yard into a mini homestead it was inspiring!
❤
Brilliant!! I moved to a tiny seaside town in WA where its 330km return trip to Coles and Woolies - our local IGA has limited options, so I'm getting way better at cooking from scratch (and growing my own in my mini food forest and permaculture garden). Cooking from scratch sure saves money too!!
That’s fantastic guys , I have been doing clean eating for 8 years and buy all the clean foods you showed us , we also buy grass feed beef from farmers market .but there were a few things I haven’t seen like the barbecue sauce and the pasta sauce thanks for all your hard work. Keep it up and God Richest Blessings ❤️🤗
What was the price difference between the good and bad food?
@@Zara-w7w it was about $30 difference:)
I’ve started. And I’m going to do my best to make better decisions.
I’m on a tight budget, so healthier options from the big supermarkets and health food stores come with luxury price tags 😞
I’d love help finding budget friendly healthier eating.
Great information, sadly vegetable oil is in so many foods and it is so bad for our health. We try to grow our own food as much as we can. Currently we are raising 30 meat birds, along with our own, lamb, beef and pork. Sitting down to a meal you have raised and grown is very satisfying.
That sugar film is a great film as well, shows the effect sugar has on the body.
So good guys, thanks for the good video, it really helps as a reminder to always check labels 🤩
@@gypsiestravellingoz thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for still following our story! So easy to not check the labels but so important !
@Homestead_OnTheRock_ there was definitely a reason we camped near you, thanks for the fantastic information 😀
Great video love it great to see you's back Bless you and your family ❤😊
Don;t know if you have an ALDI near you. can you do better choices at ALDI.
Just out of curiosity what was the price difference between the healthy and not so healthy options ?
@@coraleegrey6620 it was about $30 difference :)
Great vid guys. We're big on reading the ingredients here already but you got me on the coconut milk! I didn't really think i'd need to check that as coconut milk is coconut milk right. Whoops! I look forward to sharing your video with our 11 and 12 year old kids in the morning.
Nice video guys! Hopefully, you'll get more people checking ingredients before they buy things.
How about doing a video on oils? We always use olive oil but it's getting so expensive now I was wondering about your thoughts on
cheaper alternatives at the supermarket. I have used Rice bran oil before but not sure if it's much better than canola etc.
I'm trying to reduce my daily teaspoons of destruction.😁
So what did you do with all the food Tom bought?
Makes sense . Less ingredients the better,
There's a movement in America, MAHA: Make America Healthy Again. I hope that we can see change in the system and in the culture. Good food has been becoming hard er and harder to find. We see organic products being discontinued more and more and so many people just don't care about being healthy. We hope that changes as people become more aware and educated!
Fantastic! Nothing more to say! God bless you all.
Love what you do ❤
Would have loved to see a few options for those with dairy and gluten allergens. Maybe something for next time? I love this kind of content, just can't eat most of the stuff you mentioned 😢
Lovely job guys! Edicating the masses ,😊
We buy those first straps as well, super expensive, but way better ingredients!
Good afternoon all 🌻🌻🌻
Good afternoon to you ☺️
The wife and i use a app called Yuka, scan the barcode with your camera and it will tell you the nutrition and what additives are in the food, also works for cosmetics
Pics peanut butter is the best. It's actually made in Nelson in nz.
Hey I live close to yous. Where do you get your milk from? I used to get some a local farmer but he has passed away. I love milk! I use make everything dairy.
Great video guys.
@@lornawatkins8495 thank you ❤️
Great tips!…. But what was the 🥄/ 🎤 spoon mic sitting in the whole time? It looked like a shake but didn’t wet the spoon? 😂
Rice
@@BookloverFantasy92 that makes sense! 😂 thanks
Good job
Such a good video
Good informative video. Thanks.
By the way, acidity regulators is the same as added lemon juice or citric acid to canning recipes to up the acidity and make stuff safe for canning. Sodium chloride is salt. Polydextrose is bad - synthetic sugar, but not being able to pronounce stuff is not usually a good indicator, especially if you have a high school chemistry background. I agree with the numbers tho - avoid that!
You guys are adorable 🎉
Very good.
Better hide those Coco Pops. Beano might find them and get hooked to the sugars. 🙀😵💫
Thank you for sharing your shopping so others can know the best ingredients when we are too unmotivated to go through everything ourselves😉are you giving the bad choices to the food bank they buy that stuff all the time and would be glad to have it.
When my children were young I went to a demonstration to raise money and a Chinese chef cooked. One dish he put 23 tablespoons of sugar in it it was a large dish as we all got a taste but it didn’t taste overly sweet if you hadn’t watched him you would never have known.!
From scratch food tastes so much better. Cut..... not allowed. :)
curious what you did with all the "bad foods" i hope you didnt just bin them all and create more waste especially when alot of people dont have the money to purchase all the better stuff due to it generally being more expensive. i hope it was donated to a food bank.. love the message your trying to get across though..
You guys won't like my shopping trolley. I'm gluten and dairy free due to allergies, which need hospital attention, so sadly I can't avoid some of those nasties. I know you are talking to the general population and medical needs should be treated differently.
However, I do have a large organic orchard and vegetable garden, and when shopping, I shop for ingredients over prepackaged foods.
What can I smell from my kitchen right now? 5 ingredient gluten free potato bread, in the slow cooker. Only 39 minutes cooking time remaining from an original 2.5 hours.
Great video! I hope you took all the wrong foods back to the supermarket and got your money back!
Lol I love you guys and your words are so true a healthy diet is the best way 💖💖
Thank you haha! We love you too!! Hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
Interesting ...... What did you do with the food you weren't going to eat? So hoping it wasn't wasted and was donated to someone who would be grateful to have it
@@lynne-i7j hey there! We returned what food we could, we ate what we could but the ice cream and Coke went into the bin
@@Homestead_OnTheRock_😂😂
why are the staff allowed to film customers then if filming is illegal after all they all have video cameras attached to them nowadays ....
You video was interesting in someway, misleading in other ways 99% of the pop. DONT shop at Coles, I personally shop at Aldi as do many others, heaps of people shop at WW. I found some of your comments way off the mark its all depends of the research you have chosen to do. By all means feed your family the food/s that suit you but please dont be so critical of the food that other may choose to feed their family. Not everyone has an unlimited budget and can pay the high prices of most the food you recommend to buy
