I like how despite this movie being totally ridiculous overall, their depiction of medieval siege warfare wasn't that bad. Mantlets, makeshift bridges, multistage defence. Everything has sense.
Reminds me of the movie 'Eight-Legged Freaks' where they had the giant man-eating mutant spiders sound like chipmunks, with hilarious high-pitched noises instead of scary monster sounds.
At 1:19 they should have kept the skeleton silent when his jaw dropped when fireball drops on him for better comedic moment and scream after the explosion
The most impressive part is the fact the skeletons had to train for 2 months before this scene to use bagpipes and flutes without lungs. special effects team had to figure out and entirely new system using oxygen tanks rested inside the skeleton actors that would discharge a little bit of air when they pressed a button on their palm. amazing.
Someone on the production questioned the bagpipe joke, saying it made no sense. Sam Raimi said; "If you're questioning things like that, this movie isn't for you."
We can at least see what's going on too. And the decisions made way more sense than what they did against the Night King. I'm still pissed at how they positioned their goddamn trebuchets in the front of their army, outside the walls. And that they were outside their wall in the first place.
