A huge part of what keeps the audience loving Gerard Butler is not just his charisma, it's also the fact that he's a normal dude doing his best. I believe that since he never truly made it big, he still has maintained that level of "the everyday man". Sure, not all of us will be able to land Hollywood roles like him but he still feels like someone who is like the rest of us and lives in reality.
Never made it big??? 300 has the record for being the 24th highest grossing opening weekend in box office history as well as that movie being a huge success. How to train your dragon, Den of Thieves and its upcoming sequel I imagine is going to do well also. Even Phantom of the Opera was successful film. Wild statement to make saying he never made it big just because he’s a celebrity that prefers not being in the limelight
@@StonedCabbage I'm not speaking of money. I'm speaking of playing a role that hits high levels of popularity, like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine or Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Gerard Butler is memorable but not really so much for a single role, even though 300 comes the closest to being so.
