This is at least the tenth time I have seen this but I can see it many more times and I still don't know if I would not continue with Craig Ferguson and Gerry Butler because they make me laugh and laughing is so needed in the world of today.

Oh yes, Craig indeed used to have a heavy (to us non-Scots) Glaswegian-Scottish accent but American life and culture has watered it down somewhat.

Did you realize how their accent becomes less and less pronounced whith time? It's a pity because their original accent is adorable and sexy
msinvincible2000 well Craig is in America but still seems to retain the accent but Gerard probably doesn't spend a lot of time with other Scots so that explains a lot of the fact isn't as thick as when he was younger because when you spend time around people of your same country it helps the retintion of the accent .
Yes! I'm Scottish and the Americanisation of their accents from the first video to the last was sad to behold. Guess they have musical ears, as that's apparently what makes people acclimatise to accents. Sean Connery must be tone deaf. 😂
Clothilde well if you're spending time or are around people of the same nation you're going to lose your accent . My great granddad Patrick Kennedy who was from Tipperary retained his simply because he was spending time with other Irish people ! keep me with other Australians and it stays strong whereas if I'm around people of other countries it gets weaker. But these two were joking around the American accents were fake !
That's not always the case. Some people retain their accents years after migrating and being surrounded by foreigners. I would say most, however, have the traits you describe. Being with fellow natives definitely makes a person's accent broader, but then people's accents and manners of speech change every day, depending on to whom they are talking.
Clothilde true whilst that is sometimes the case it wasn't for him he never developed an Australian accent , saw an interview with Gary oldman he said he had to retrain himself in his English accent because he's lost it because of being in America so long whereas others like James mcavoy whose Glaswegian despite living in London for many years still has the accent of his native drum chapel

I just love these two together. Out of all the guests, Craig has probably known Gerard the longest and it certainly shows. It's like two buddies hanging out together and we're all invited! Gerry has the funniest jokes.

they talk at the same time a lot and still clearly understand each other clearly. we should learn to speak like a scott.
I just have the sensation that Scottish men are not that different from Brazilians in the way they talk, in the way they laugh, and in the way they show affection. They are so expressive, authentic, warm and funny I felt like home watching this. ❤️
