    Agreed the feather looked less wrinkled. Helix definetly starts to rotate quicker. Another great slow mo video. Thank you.

    Very cool. This totally debunks the myth that you can't shoot helical fletchings through a Whisker Biscuit, especially with the shorter vanes. I could see almost no discernible difference between the helical and the 1-degree offset. Thank you!

      I could helical had already turned 1/2 turn where offset maybe an 1/8th

    Great video! You should order some zinger fletchings and see how they look passing through!

    Great video, I use slow motion in my work to determine root cause failures. Your bows are fixed, which is great, you can clearly watch the projection, deflection and collision as the arrow and fletchings (vanes) pass thru the biscuit fibers. I would love to see more direct comparisons videos, maybe consider another extended view showing the parallax effect in the first order (the initial bend). For those haters; people have been launching projectiles since hunting began, while you can add lots of complexity, weight and cost to components that help a hunter do this, you can still kill an animal with a straight pointed stick and a bent bow. If you feel you need to drop several hundred dollars on a rest to help you do this, go for it. None of that makes you a better hunter, it just makes you a better consumer. First rule of Design and Engineering; K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid.

    I got an awful lot of animals that hate the whisker biscuit like some of you guys commenting here. :)

    Man, this bow and arrow setup is TUNED. There's absolutely zero nock travel. I wish i could tune my setups like that, i can never tune those tears out completely.

    Love my WB, replace fletch types/colours more often than I'll look to change a solid rest. Good vid, thanks.

    I found that you can thin out the hairs just where where your fletching goes thru- without compromising the biscuit- to have even less effect on your arrows. sort of creating a very thin "v" shape. still experimenting to what degree i can go.

      Well if the fletching makes contact with the wb it generates more twist and it should make the arrow a bit more accurate, but comparing it to something like a drop away rest where the arrow doesnt even contact anything and less twist is generated the difference is not wisible actually seems like it doesnt even make any difference...

    This is why I use drop away rests.

      mikey woomer yes sir, I thought so as well. And that helical twist definitely got the shaft spinning faster.

    I feel better about using a whisker biscuit on my recurve. I will stay with feathers

    Did you use feather fletching in the drop away test? What gets your arrow spinning quicker off the bow with a drop away? If any difference

    The moral of the story is : Whisker biscuits are made to go in the trash and that is all.
    Get a real rest like a Hamskea Trinity Pro Hunter and let your arrows leave the bow like intended.

    • @rogerkay8603
      @rogerkay8603 3 роки тому +2

      Except this proves the WB had minimal effect vs a $250 rest that does exactly what to justify that? Full containment on your Hamskea or bouncing it at full draw?

    • @mikielyke
      @mikielyke 3 роки тому +3

      I totally disagree the biscuit had no affect and I know from shooting one they preform as well as a drop away with far less to go wrong, cost, silent, don't have to worry about arrow falling off of your rest and spooking game, all positive with no negitve.

      Tell that to the probably millions of game animals taken with a whisker biscuit 😆
