It seems to me that that Playx blocks are 10 times more expensive than CMU. I don't want to spend that money, doesn't seem like a very feasible idea at the moment.

Nice demo, but the guys doing the wall need to put more mud in the blocks. Also I have the same questions as someone else, what about the electrical and plumbing runs, the cap for the roof, the openings for doors and windows and how is the foundation laid. Also what's the life expectancy of this product.

I'm speculating here, but the Plaex bricks have vertical holes running through the bricks, I imagine that's for running rebar (or an equivalent tensioning member) to link the layers together

Cement was added to the plastic; hence the gray color. This additive would also increase their fire resistance, UV resistance, and serve as a fire retardant. As stated, they are seeking certification and the appropriate test will be done.

Man....I've been involved with construction and financing mortgages for more than forty years. I can promise you three things: It will be more expensive than traditional lumber, despite getting material destined for landfills. It will be difficult to incorporate electric and plumbing. And it will be clad inside and out with traditional building material, despite being "trendy." Every new or recycled building trend like adobe, straw bale, concrete ICF, rammed earth, rice straw, steel dome, concrete inflation dome, fiberglass, light steel...and the list goes on--FAILS because of the impracticallities and exoense of using them. Most shops, barns, and stand alone garages on the west coast are steel framed. It's cheaper. But almost no houses are, despite the cheapness of the framing and cladding. And the reason is by the time they are finished, insulated, electrified, and plumbed to residential standards, the price is ludicrous. This product won't be any different than the myriad leggo block products that have been proposed for years. If I'm wrong, let's see the dude who made the video come argue with me.
@@aw8388cement block houses are dreadful for energy efficiency. There's not much you can do to make them better. They look bad, and they eventually become white elephants. No one in the snowbelt wants a concrete block wall house. I've seen seen it over and over.

Impact Tests, Get a "Chicken Canon, like they use to test Aircraft Windscreens, and High Speed Train Front Windows! And "Concrete Cloth/Fabric" wrapping, would add some benefits, too!

What do you do about windows and door openings? 3. What about finishes? How do you render or paint plastic? 4. What about structural integrity (not fire resistance, I'm talking the strength of the wall when it's above 150 degrees) Finally, cinder block walls are usually steel reinforced and core filled. Do that and re-do your testing Having said that, it appears to be a good product with some potential in certain applications

Cinder Blocks, or Concrete Blocks: insert Vertical Rebar & Concrete Poured into those Holes! You can do the Same for those PLAEX Blocks! For Retaining Walls, it seems you could put Multiple mid point 90° Stub Walls, that reach into the Bank, and Stake them as well, for Anchors!
I'm an engineer (like Michael Fraser) and when I retired, I became a Realtor, and Contractor, and bought, remodeled, and then sold homes. I immediately saw the "vision" of this, and near me, there is a large landfill full of plastic (and I can "get" concrete. So the big question here to you... when do you change from manufacturing into franchising???
