I cannot remember following a channel but you are definitely fun to watch. Good content and comments.
I am also a ‘child’ of the 80s (genX) and found it hard to find new good bands. Check out Symphony X. I bet you ll love it!

Might not be your type but I still thought I’d mention them: Ad Infinitum, Amaranthe, Rave The Reqviem.

Yo nice to see that you are looking into the newer metal scene and I hope you find some artists or sub genres that hit the right spot.
I thought I'd give a few suggestions and hope you enjoy them.
    Well to start off:
Alestorm - P.A.R.T.Y, drink, or keelhauled
    jinjer - Pisces
Spiritbox - either circle with me or rule of nines.
Slaughter to prevail - viking or demolisher
We butter the bread with butter - choose a song any are funny.
    Imminence - temptation
    Archspire - bleed the future
And list could go on. These are a few of my eclectic daily listens. If you already know them awesome, if not have fun discovering new stuff.

Some bands to check out if you havent, are Amon Amarth (but they are more popular) Sabaton, or Amaranthe

From the Nordic department I'd recommend:
Dynazty - Natural Born Killer (SWE)
    Amaranthe - The Nexus (SWE)
    Arion - Unforgivable (FIN)
Ember Falls - We Are Become Fire (FIN)
    Other countries:
Orden Ogan - Heart Of The Android (GER)
Paleface Swiss - God Looks The Other Way (SWI)
Lorna Shore - Pain Remains (USA) Note: this is a trilogy, I'd recommend watching the lyric trilogy video
Ice Nine Kills - Assault & Batteries (USA) Note: Very much recommend the band if you're a horror movie fan. Their albums are all about the horror movies and in their music videos they've created their own story line as well, linking them together.
If you want more Brothers of Metal, Kaunaz Dagaz is an amazing song, as well as Yggdrasil.

If you like comedic metal, Nanowar of Steel - "Valhalelujah" and "Norwegian Reggaeton" 😂

I’ve found a ton of awesome bands through UA-cam, here’s my top five: Nightwish, Sabaton, Unleash the Archers, Orbit Culture, and Feuerschwanz. Notable mentions: Ignea, Falling in Reverse, Slaughter to Prevail, Cypecore, Halo Effect… you get the picture. There are lots. Watch your head falling down the rabbit holes!

Would definitely check out more from them, this is a departure from their usually style, most of their songs are rooted in and based off viking/Norse mythology. The comedy is sparse, not being all of their songs.

@@HeadbangersGuild Id like to add that the song Yggdrasil is another great song from them. I personally love the female lead singers voice. There are two main lead singers, male and female. There are some songs where you get both of their voices.

Kinda late to the party, but if you enjoyed Brothers of Metal (fun fact, Ylva, the singer, has another project going on called Good Harvest, an American Country duo. Their music is pretty good too) you should check Lacuna Coil, especially the album Black Anima, which I think has some inspiration from the work of My Dying Bride. By the way, From the Lacuna Coil's discography i recommend Reckless or Layers of Time as a good introduction to the band or one of their classics like Heaven's a lie(in my mind in the more recent albums they struck a better balance between the two singers, therefore their newer music is more enjoyable by an outsider)

I guess I experienced the same thing as you with music. I found what I was missing in Japan. Don't regret for a second sticking my head down the rabbit hole of Japanese metal.
Try; Unlucky Morpheus "The Black Death Mansion Murders"

I would recommend the halo effect - "shadowminds" or "feel what i believe"
and orbit culture - "saw" or "strangler"

I don't know if you will come back to the comments of this video or not.
But finding new metal bands is what I've been doing for close to the past decade.
I don't know exactly what things turn you off, I just know from this a laugh will not. I tend to like the more melodic stuff. I kept it to 15 bands that have had a song hit my playlist in the last 2 years. Though with a few bands I still chose my first song reccmendation to be something a little further back in their catelogy
    Symphonic Metal
    Elvellon - Germany
I liked my first song from them last month called The Aftermath of Life
    Xandria - Germany
Not a new band but they have had a new lead singer Ambre Vourvahis since 2022 so it feels new. First song Rec: Your Stories I'll Remember
    Power Metal
    Orden Ogan - Germany
Does a lot of themeing, the recent songs have been on the Dark Souls type of themeing. First Song Rec: The Order of Fear
    Unleashed the Archers - Canada
Brittney Slayes has been the Metal Queen of Canada. I rather suggest my top song from 2020 though. First Song Rec: Abyss
    Mister Misery - Sweden
A new band for me in 2024. Bringing back the white face paint. First Song Rec: Survival of the Sickest
    Crownshift - Finland
If you were ever a fan of Children of Bodom, this is where a lot of the band members are now. First Song Rec: If You Dare
    Alterium - Italy
They focus on the fantasy side from what I've listened. First song Rec: Siren's Call
    Theocracy - United States
This is not a newer band but Mosaic was my favorite song in 2023. I like my melodic metal haha.
    Frozen Crown - Italy
You want guitar solos, M is for Mondelli. First Song Rec: Far Beyond
    Progressive Metal
    Evergrey - Sweden
They have been around for 25 years BUT to me they are producing their best music recently. First Song Rec: Ominous
    Melodic Death Metal
    Hiraes - Germany
If you need something with full harsh vocals this gets the fix in. First Song Rec: Through the Storm
    Space of Variations - Ukraine
Honestly this band really is its own catergory. This song is a trip. First Song Rec: Tribe
    Heavy Metal
    Cobra Spell - Netherlands
This is an all female metal band and The Devil Inside of Me was my 3rd favorite song last year
Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons - UK
This is what Phil has been up to, doing a band with the family. First song Rec: Strike the Match
    Metalcore
    DeMotional - Sewden
Going to attempt to see if the core can work or not for you in 2024. First Song Rec: Lost in this City
    Viking Metal
    Gods of Metal - Germany
If you want something more like this video this band has you covered. First Song Rec: Gods of Metal
