It is a MDFpanel routed out with in between 3 mm thick felt from recycled materials so it is quite sturdy but also meant to control sounds. Did you watch their video? That is in English.
Hi, nice work. I wonder hiw far you could open the door with the panels installed? Could you open them further than 90 degrees? Seems unlikely as on the hinges side it would pinch where tge panels meet.
You'd need to cut it below the ceiling though anyway. The full length panel would catch the ceiling. Most importantly, it would warp over time as it wouldn't be fixed to the wall. Very good thinking though and would've been very nice indeed if the material itself allowed it.
Great video! Few questions guys to anyone that can help. 1- When cutting a reveal, I’m finding it super tricky to not splinter the veneer. I’ve tried everything and came to this video specifically to see how you cut around plug sockets. I’ve tried mounting the socket to the paneling but you can see behind the socket when looking down the slats… so this isn’t an option. We have mounting boxes available in the uk also, tempered to use these if I can’t find and easier way to do it. 2- Is there a particular blade to use on the jigsaw that would help not chip the veneers?
This is amazing Sebastiaan and Thank You for the video. Question for you, did you used screws and put it in the "black" part of the panel or just finishing nails into the oak wood?
Hi Sebastian, pls can you tell me how did you fixed the sleds to the black back panrl? From behind with screws? Or just a fixing glue? Or some other method? Thanks for shating
Hello, I couldn’t tell from the video but are you screwing the panels to the furring through the felt or through the slats? Thank you, looks way more professional than many of the other videos I have seen!
How do you do to open the door all the way out with touching one piece of wood with the other when you opening, because I am trying to to install same panel but with hidden hinges and doesn’t not open all the 90 angle, and you can see a big gap between the panels, and looks ugly.
Hi thomas! This is interesting. I have made a sample of the setup with invisible hinges. But it won’t work on the long term, they will seize up and interfere with the cladded panels. The fulcrum (theorethical) is too close too the door face. And the regular hinges have a fysical fulcrum furter away from the door face. So those will not interfere with the cladding. For instance the ‘argenta’ brand hinges specify they allow 4mm thick door cladding but these panels are 16mm so that is too thick. This is a great question!
Looks great, have tried doing the same with secret hinges but the slats touch each other and give a relatively narrow opening. Any specific hinges you recommend to facilitate at least a 90 degree opening please? Thank you

Hi, nice work. I wonder hiw far you could open the door with the panels installed? Could you open them further than 90 degrees?

An idea: how about if you leave a full lenght panel on the door so you can't see the cut? Would hide the door even more.
yes thats also great

😍love that wall💯
Looks good, I like the idea of hiding the extra space.
Thanks man!
looking really great. The only point I didn‘t understand ist why you haven used hidden hinges. Just a little bit more expensive.
I got an explaination of this in another comment, it doesn’t fit well in short. The hinges do not allow a setup like this.
you can make it with wood glut plans
Stunning! Really elegant. May I ask why you cut the bottom skirting off and then put it back on? Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! We cut something else off. The length of the panels started off shorter than the ceiling. I understand why you saw it like that.
Fantastiese werk. My Amerikaanse man dink ook dit is wel gedaan.

hi, moet je de latten gebruiken bij de deur? of heeft dat te maken omdat je de kabels erachter wilt verwerken?

Hi Sebastian, pls can you tell me how did you fixed the sleds to the black back panrl? From behind with screws? Or just a fixing glue? Or some other method? Thanks for shating
The panels come with slats and backing and all. and this is glued and screwed to the wall of firring.
nice vid
Good work! What backing did you use? The black part?
I would appreciate sound comparison with and without the panels
What are the dimensions of the vertical chopsticks , and verry good job by the way
These are 32x16mm or 1 1/4 and 5/8. But this is a panel so its premade in a factory.
@@SebastiaanMollema And what is the width of the gap between them?
Great job
Just checked your videos, I only see the barn door you made... How did you make this one? What type of wood?
It looks great! But What’s the material of the black backing wall and the wood slats?
Thanks! The black in between is felt. The plastic type. Not the cotton type.

Hello, I couldn’t tell from the video but are you screwing the panels to the furring through the felt or through the slats? Thank you, looks way more professional than many of the other videos I have seen!
Hi Pete, thanks. I screw and nail through the felt part. This works but the glue is also relevant for stability.
Is this real wood even panel at back or ply wood with wood finish cause that is garbage or mdf. If real wood panels then what is the source suppliers?
Its an veneer on mdf, here in NL we have specialty local suppliers. They might ship it. This product is Iwood from danmark.

Hi there, i'd like to do the same project so i was wondering what kind of glue you use to stick those panels up on the wall? Thanks, nice work!
Wow
Looks great 👍 did you also install the hidden door? If so, why didn’t you choose invisible door concealed hinges?
Hi thomas! This is interesting. I have made a sample of the setup with invisible hinges. But it won’t work on the long term, they will seize up and interfere with the cladded panels. @@SebastiaanMollema I was thinking about using the Tectus concealed hinges by Simonswerk for the door to my server room.
What are the dimensions on the wood that you attach the panels to?
It seems you’re using panels on the wall. Are you buying these from somewhere or are you fabricating them yourself? Not clear.
Lovely work. Did you use regular common black door hinges or are they special? How much additional spacing between slats to provide clearance?
Yes these are black, regular types. The space needed is 16 mm or 5/8” . Then it works out good enough.
I would like to know what material black did you use for the background of wood.

I want an easy solution, to use the door space on the wall, a wall paper covering door AND wall around, any ideas, suggestions ?
Thank you Bea, well make sure the wall and door are in te same plane and then apply the wall paper cover. This will make it nice.
Hi all enjoy this video on this slatted project! Next episode will show more trim details and finishing!
What hinges do you use so that the door slats when opening doesnt touch the wall panel slats.
Im trying to do this in the next few weeks. What is the name for the pop off latch that you have used?
This is Tip-on by Blum. You can search that.
Can the door be opened from the other side?
Unfortunately not.
Can you use magnets to keep the door closed?
What size wood did u add to the wall?
I would rather have the line above the door to run across the length of the wall to give semblance of deliberate design and divert focus from the door
Why are you using a blue pencil?
can these be screwed into a plastboard wall without fixings if so what screws should i use thanks
yes but use adequate glue.
Regular screws work, but placing them in the studs is key and a High Tack glue is good
What type of panels are those, and how much cost one?
I-wood and they have the price online. Woodup also is a product and has theor price online (also check delivery)
For the slats at the door, instead of door height why cant it goes all the way to the ceiling?
It can but budget/leadtime is not infinite. It is possible to make floor to ceiling doors but price will give a trade off at some point.
is that wood looking plastic panel (wood panel) or real wood?
This is an oak veneer on Mdf carrier. The felt is inbetween. Different brands have similar constructions like this.
That door downstairs: how many degrees can it open without breaking the slats?
The door stops at 90 degrees. The panels and wood stays undamaged it only stops the door. Luckily nothing gets pinched.
What is that dark material behind wood pieces?
That is a plastic type of felt
How did you make the custom door?
можно было сделать до потолка кусок на дверях они ж наружу открываютса
