  • Flowers are not just nice to look at. Some are edible and delicious. Tony shows us an Italian delicacy... Sautéed or fried zucchini flower blossoms. There are many flowers you can eat. This is just one.

VERY nice. Just bought some at the farmer's market and didn't know quite what to do. Was looking for something lighter than the usual deep fried ones. Sauteeing in olive oil, sounds wonterful!!

How about a Mexican delight ? just fry in olive oil some mashed garlic cloves with a lot of chopped onion, 2 zucchinis ruff chopped and one can of corn kennels, low the flame add the epazote and let it cook for 6 min.( Epazote this is a real Mexican flavor leave) if you can't get it ? well you can use some cilantro but it will not have the real Mexican flavor, chop a few hot green chilies and add 1 teaspoon of consome powder, taste it if more salt is needed, when it is almost ready drop a bunch of blossoms,(about 2 dozens) cut in big pieces, cover it and let it cook for 3 more min. Serve it with cream and Oaxaca cheese and if you don't find it, you can use any white lite cheese that will dissolve with the heat. And Enjoy !!!!! Pls. excuse my English writing, hope you can understand me, as this is delicious !!!!!!

Jennifer Patterson, the late co host of the cooking show "Two Fat Ladies" mentioned fried zucchini blossoms and describe it as "a glorious dish of golden flowers". When I tried to make it...it wasn't glorious...thanks for the tips!

We fill ours with a goats cheese, mint and a hint of honey; then fry in a tempura batter...very yummy!

With all due respect, I suggest picking the flowers very early in the morning when the they are fully open. Otherwise, thanks for the suggested options to cook the flowers. Looks great!!
