- Why do 80% of Americans seek medical care for backpain during their lives, compared to only 3% of Japanese? In this fascinating talk Turner Osler examines the sitting disease that afflicts the western world, and suggests a $5 solution for our kids so that they will not suffer the same fate. Turner Osler was an academic trauma surgeon (University of Vermont) for over 20 years with over 300 peer reviewed papers and book chapters. But then he went off script, got a masters in Biostatistics, an NIH grant and abandoned the operating room to study trauma epidemiology. Somewhere in the last decade he became obsessed with the problems that come from sitting too much. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
I grabbed my cheap balance board and put a seat cushion on top. It's the kind of balance board that is a round circle with a half sphere underneath. I put it on a chair. And now I have an active chair 👍 Yay!

My chair just came in the mail today. On first sit, it feels amazing. Like sitting on a yoga ball. I am excited to see the results after a few weeks and if my back pain has improved.
This is amazing, and again where can I get one!

So let me straight, you say the plywood chair would only cost $5, but you sell the plywood chair for kids on your website for $150 and describe it as "It’s an affordable way to introduce kids to the world of active sitting". Affordable for who?
I love my QOR 360 chair for office work.
