Our budget was £5000, and before the price of everything shot up this last year we were on track to stay within that. Now I reckon closer to £6500. So it can be done. But it is no way a 'traditional' wedding, and it is super DIY. You have to be creative and willing to prioritise and compromise a great deal. For what we wanted it suited us. I'd love to have a little more to elevate a couple of areas but they are not deal breakers to having a great day. I know people will have a great time, and will appreciate the wedding reflects us as a couple. But I also know that it is not what most people would choose for themselves. It all depends on your expectations.
I suppose telling a cake maker to make a fake cake is like telling a florist to use fake flowers, it goes against their traditional craft and passion for many!
Please please do a divorced parents episode! I’m planning to have my mum walk me down the aisle and I know it’s going to cause issues with my stepdad, who is paying for a chunk of my wedding, and my dad who hasn’t offered a penny. I’m closer to my stepdad, but think getting my mum to walk me down the aisle is the safest decision for me. But like, what about speeches? The cars to the chapel and venue? Family portraits!? HELP ME
I think £25k is in in unachievable for most couples to pay for a wedding and most under that budget unfortunately wouldn’t be able to afford luxury wedding services like a coordinator and complete styling. Especially younger couples who are juggling buying a house and paying for a wedding. I get married next week and we have been engaged for 5 years so we were able to buy and furnish our house before booking the wedding.
Love u guys, but your mom paying for your dress is receiving financial support. Thats about $1500 dollars you could put towards something else on your big day on average.
We are all going to the hotel/villa for our hen and stag do but doing separate things on separate nights mainly because we have a mixture of people going to both that we don’t want to get them bankrupt by paying for two 😂
Especially to the same place as it is somewhere we both have always wanted to go. We are leaning towards a villa so we can all split it to make it cheaper for all involved 😂xx
