Astra Rear Door Can't Open From Outside Or Inside - QuickTip To Gain Access

In this video I give a quick Tip on how to gain assess to a Opel Vauxhall Holden Astra H rear door that won't open from the inside or outside (deadlocked). While this is not a fix it certainly is very useful so you can gain access to either use when needed or to carry out a repair and you are required to remove the door panel. Testing is required to confirm the fault, possible faults are the actuator or communication/power failure to the door actuator that requires repair.

Im so confused how this works but thanks, my door connector comes loose meaning the car door doesnt lock, fixed the connector yesterday and today it didnt unlock, thanks alot for your help!

One other thing- when I did this, the other doors would not open.
So I had to put the key in the door lock (drivers side) and unlock the door to open the rest of the doors.
What a nightmare. All sorted now.

Didn’t work, as I had turned the red switch with the key, and for some reason it won’t open when unlock the car, or unlock the way you said to try.

Same problem is happening with our 2012 Astra. Problem is, the childlock is on

Same with men I tried the following and it worked. It's a copy and paste from another video.

1) Get in the car, lock it, and open the window to the stuck door.
2) pull the inside lever of the door that's stuck and keep it pulled with tension.
3) with the lever kept pulled, unlock/lock the car using your fob a few times but end with it being unlocked.
4) with the lever still being pulled, reach through the window and open it from the outside.
5) the door now opens from the outside.
6) take child lock off
7 door now opens from inside and outside.
This is the exact process that worked for me with a zafira after trying everything else

No mate, just no. Surely this is one of the first things someone would try. Didnt work otherwise I wouldn’t be here
