Comparing these 3 amazing reels on paper (and we use 2 of them).

**** PLEASE NOTE: Tesoro has a brass main and pinion gear! this only adds to its presence as a top class reel!
I have the 20000 size Tesoro
Filled with 960m of 50lb braid.
Extremely strong and super comfortable on a 15ft rod.
They’re amazing reels🔥
Almost every reel has a brass pinion gear. Also, hagane isnt a material in shimano terms... it means steel in japanese but shimano uses it to emphasize strength.

Love the drag sound of okuma reel. But Penn slammer is for me. This thing never fail no matter what condition.

Howzit fishos, I have recently gotten into rock and surf fishing in East London and I’m really enjoying, haven’t really caught anything yet, but I’m sure I’ll start soon. I always hear you guys talking about different spots around the yellow sands to cefani area. Why not make a video where you go on google earth and you go along the areas around east London and show on the map all the spots you guys refer to. For instance dead man’s gulley, verandah rocks to name a few. I’m super stoked to give some of these places a try one day. Keep up the awesome content 💪🏼🎣

you should do a reel ratchet sound battle test review video. i am kinda keen on the tesoro but after using the salina, i'm kinda weary of getting a tesoro. i'm worried about small/non-existent drag ratchet sound lol. i got a gosa and i can hear the thing from the other side of the pier.

We are not too familiar with that reel, but if I were you, in that price point, I’d consider a look at the Okuma Salina 14000.

Good day Fishos, which of the Tesoro's will be more or less the body size of a 8500 Slammer the 18 or 20 000? I have a 20 000 Saragosa for shark fishing but the reel is just to bulky for me, thinking of buying a Slammer iv 8500 but would like to consider the Tesoro aswell.

18k Tesoro would be better. I must say, despite fishing with a slammer for about 7 years (3 and 4), I am going to upgrade to the Tesoro this year. It’s an amazing reel!!!

IPX rating is higher, bearing count is higher, and the more I fish with the slammer, the more the ratchet (or lack of) sound annoys me.
The Tesoro has a great ratchet sound… although it’s not a Gosa🤣

On paper, not a bad reel to be honest. I think we just read up a bit more and go see one for ourselves before commenting too much.
But 65lb drag is WILD🤣 9+1 BB is good, and holds onto a lot of line.
I see it’s only water resistant though, which for the price is a pity…
But we must get our hands on one and give some proper feedback🤙🏻

How Tesoro compare to Twinpower and Penn Authority? Is it same bracket as those two or nearly close in term of design wise and performane ?

I’d say it’s around the slammer/saragosa class… however features are better than both, so for me- puts it in a higher class, but not at twin power level😉
@@untraceablefishing yeah.....I'm torn between being to pick up Penn Authority or Twinpower ...I already have Gosa 5000xg and looking for upgrade....if Tesoro worth for upgrade than Gosa...I might considered it if this reel comes close to Twinpower and Authority...

If no budget constraints here...what would you pick between Twinpower and Authority? I'm dilemma for Twinpower SW2021 and Authority....but might considered Tesoro after your explanation...
Can you recommended one for this?....tough call for me to decide because Stella and Saltiga are far ahead in terms of price wise...
I got my first slammer because of the ipx6 rating....after I found out that the gosa is ipx8. I moved over to gosa and never looked back. The new okuma is ipx7 I believe.
They are all great reels… hard to pick a favourite. I think it’s down to brand loyalty for us 🤙🏻

Got me the 10000 tesoro. Best investment I made for a reel. Lost all faith in saragosa with epicyclic gear on main gear splitting open on the 8000
