- I'm back! I know it's been a long time since I dropped a video but life.. uh... finds a way. So here I am with another update. This time in the form of a Yogi's Tech Tip on how to fix your rear spoiler. If your 996 has as many miles as mine does, 101K, then it's time to address the spoiler as it probably is on the brink of failure. Enjoy!
Items used in video:
DeoxIT 5% Spray Contact Cleaner

Cheers! I just got a stock assembly to swap in/out with my fixed wing. This video will help me mount it all in correctly.
Happy to help!
OUTSTANDING to have a wife that is willing to help w/ your sports cars!!! My wife is a GEM ! She helps me all of the time when I need a help on my Porsche or BMW.. ! Love It !!
Thanks man! She’s also super helpful with my broll close up shots. Couldn’t do it without her.
Nice use of time lapse and having done this a few months ago, I’m pretty sure this is the only video how to in existence - and it’s a GREAT one!
Thank! I’m recording at 60FPS for smoother time lapse.
Very thorough video Yogi, that’s an evergreen resource 💎. Thank you 🙏
Anytime! I’m sure yours could use a little sprucing up too. 😎
Great job son again knock it out the park😎👍
Great editing!! Good info, too!
Great work!
Thanks!
It's also worth bearing in mind that the microswitches can also fail, giving an incorrect logical state at the instrument cluster's pins 9 and 26. Mine had 36 ohms on pin 9 w.r.t. ground when the spoiler was retracted or deployed - it was a short in the loom itself!
Thanks for the tip. My top isn’t always responsive so I might check into that.
This is interesting. Did the durametric give you any code for the cluster?
