Many players look like they're giving a guitar orders, making demands with their fingers.
When Orianthi plays it seems like her hands gently and kindly ask the guitar for notes, and it happily provides them. Beautiful to watch.
i kinda feel bad if like richie ever read all these comments. Richie if you read this. You wrote some great music dont let anyone take that away from you.

Orianthi just has those fabulous clean clops. She is really a nice person, very unpretentious. Just makes her super talent stand out more. Such a fun show.and the still at the end says it all. Only at Norms Rare guitars that attract very rare people. Thanks!

Richie has so much talent & knows his craft, he has absolutely nothing to prove to anyone. He's goofy sometimes & always has been, its one of his endearing traits but don't let it fool you. Read his lyrics, hear his music....he's poetic, soulful, he's intelligent, deep & serious about his music and still has fun with it. He opens up, invites you in & hides nothing through his songs while being completely vulnerable. Thats a true musician, a story teller, a singer songwriter who leaves it all out there. Thats my opinion!!

So nice to see more recent footage of the King of Swing (I'd miss this clip). He is in the top 5 of my own most influential guitarists--his soulful and powerful playing coupled with his one-of-a-kind voice, stage presence (and his amazing signature instruments) really inspired my teenage self, back in the 80s and 90s. Sad to see him not well for a while now. Take care of yourself, Mr. Bluesman, you still have so much music in you!

Her guitar sound and ability is second to none! I could watch and listen to her play anything she likes all day all night! She makes everything sound amazing and has every technique in the book down to a tee! Genius Guitarist! 100%!!

I grew up listening to Marty Robbins. Saw him play live numerous times. He played that tiny Martin guitar every single time, and he made it sound like heaven.
For some reason I first read that as Mary Poppins.

I want to spend a whole damn day in this shop, just hanging out. Teens through college it was book stores for me. When I was stressed out, needed to decompress, book stores. Those sorts of book stores don’t exist anymore. Now it’s guitar shops, but the chain stores, there’s nothing to explore there. It’s so standardized. So I go to the thrift shops, and in fact haven’t bought a totally new guitar yet. So Norm’s, that’s pure heaven for me.

Dave Ghrol broke a leg on a show and he still perform the all show with his leg broken when everybody wanted to take him to the hospital,there are diferent levels of showing fans their respect .

Sales no matter what SUCKS. Selling guitars is marginally more fun in L.A. but it's still DRUDGERY. "Stars" comprise maybe 1 out of hundreds of tire kickin' grinders that don't help you make the rent so no - Norm's is just more pressure because you are trying to part people from their hard earned on very expensive - yet still made just as cheap as ANY good $1000 guitar - foo foo old guitars..... not any easy sale. Daily, you'd make more money selling picks strings, mics and stomp boxes all day long - but NOT at Norm's. 🎸🎶

@@shugyigo4901 They broke up in 2018 because Ori was uncomfortable being with richie because in the media everyone thought she wanted his money and shit. It was really sad... But thankfully she doesnt seem to mind nowadays or kind of accepted it or whatever but they're back together and everything seems fine

@@KenobisGurke She still gets beat up on social media all time! They both do. She had backed off on posting anything about Richie for awhile, but looks like she's putting a little more out there again. She's also been so busy recording, the Gibson Endorsement and Geosphere show, she hasn't a whole lot of time for Richie. But yeah, everyone has to be so kind, calling him grandpa, etc. My daughter is 38 and her husband is 60. I have never seen her happier. Age is just a number after all.

You have to recognize that quick lick Richie throws in at around 10:25, right after the do a zoom in on the way he sets the tone of the guitar. For a brief second there he shows you what he is really about.

Richie’s gift is not improvising on the spot. He gets his inspiration from writing a song, takes his time to give it the best guitar parts it deserves and then outperforms anyone on their best day.

Richie's had huge success & he's a phenomenal player. If he doesn't bring his A game to Norm's, you can bet it's by choice. Ori's a great talent, obviously. I do this myself occasionally too, but this need to compare & try to determine who's better? All they're doing is making music. Richie's make some unforgettable riffs & great music & lives in Malibu & happens to be really nice to people. I'm white-knighting here I guess, but the nit-picking around here is so damn negative.

Nice to hear Ori play something besides PRS, nothing against them. Just fun to hear her rip on a fender/Gibson. I'll never forget hearing Richie play on stage with BB King and just KILL it with a red es335. Wow, he was amazing....2007 I think

Ori, you really should buy that 1951 Martins 5-18. Steve Earle has some videos he put together on his YT channel, telling the history of some of his vintage Martin and Gibson acoustics. I’m fairly certain he covered his sizes 1, 2, 3 and 4, from that era, but does not yet have a good size 5.
Besides the collectability, you travel so much, you would definitely have so much fun with that little guitar along for the ride. Go for it!
Lemmo with Orianthi's PRS made everyone in that shop go on a musical galactic journey, Sambora ran to applaud him, Orianthi didn't understand why he played that guitar so well and wanted to take it back... fantastic what music can do .☮
Would love to see Ori put out some acoustic music. Just that little bit of noodling blew me away. Also, that hardtail Strat was built just for her to play. And someone really needs to get her a cheezeburger and fries STAT!
She's wise to stay thin & hot. Talent alone won't get you paid in that music scene.

Love both of them. Great people. Richie reminds me of my older brother so much. I love his character and quick sense of humor. Ori can straight up play some great guitar and she looks great doing it. She's always such a lady and I probably shouldn't say this but I love her lips. Muah! Haha! Kisses for you beautiful lady.
