I don't know if it's the tough losses that hit the guitar community so rapidly this year, but even though its been a while since he returned, it still makes me extremely happy to see Norm back in good health, enjoying himself around the shop. Hope you all have a happy and healthy 2023!
Couldn't agree more, his spirit just resonates through the community. I've never been to the shop never met Norm, but through these videos can just feel his devotion to knowledge of the instruments, and passing that down to all.
That guitar looks and sounds great. I love how Joe Bonamassa appreciates the story that the guitar had before finding its way in his hands. Amazing human being and musician.
I wonder if the guy in the pictures will ever know who ended up with it. Can't imagine one of my old guitars being bought by someone like Joe. How neat
This may be the shortest performance by Lemmo for a Straturday video, but how amazing. The tone of the Strat is sublime, and leaves no doubt why Joe had to have it (that and the green refin). I watched Michael's part twice, as it was one of the sweetest, soulful pieces I'd heard him play in a long while (and Michael is always amazing). Thx as always for showcasing great instruments and legendary artists like Joe and legends in the making like Lemmo!
That Strat is definitely in good hands. Another addition to JB's array of beautiful and rare guitars, not to mention great sounding too. Thank you JB for keeping the blues alive.🤘😎
That’s might be one of the most Strat sounding strats I’ve ever heard…. So chimey and sound amazing clean but also has a ballsy tone too. It’s in great hands with Joe, can’t wait to hear him play it on stage.
God bless Norm and Joe, these 2 icons of the guitar world are very appreciated. Joe should go back to doing his UA-cam videos, and giving us his best. We miss you buddy.
Ppl like and respect JB as a musician ( self included )but his love ( all the the things he stated that attracted him) to instruments like this, it’s just, I can’t explain it. Wonderful
Ya he blows away Martino, Holdsworth, Montgomery, Lane, etc Gtfo you corny blues dudes are whacked. This dude just stole Eric Johnson riffs. FFS give Eric Johnson the credit not this tool!
Joe and Norman - great combo! When Joe and Eric Gales played John Henry live- wow - so glad he gave Eric a shout! Eric has had a rough life and really came out on top!!
That's a lovely sounding Strat. I remember that Burns used to offer a very similar green sunburst on their guitars back in the 60s (I think they still might), I always liked it.
Mr. Joe B. is like fine wine. He is just a beautiful soul. I love what he coaxes out of his guitars. My hearts sings when I hear what he pulls out of them. Thank you Joe. Thank you Norm. All the best = )
Norm and Joe are total guitar geeks (like most watching this channel) always enjoy seeing Joe on the Show! God Bless and it really is great to see Norm in good health.
But, the broken off term bar would drive me nuts. I would fish it out and remove it. Also, the rubber band that has rotted onto the volume knob, I would take that off and clean the knob. I keep my instruments as pristine as possible, like you would care for a Stradivarius violin.
Thank you for naming the song! I was going over the ballads of The Beatles in my mind to think of which one it could be. Michael's rendition is lovely!
I’m not a big fan of Joe’s music, but a smart and funny/down to earth guy who’s a great ambassador for the industry and obviously a great player…very cool guitar, much respect to you sir ✌️
I never understood why Fender never came up with the idea of doing sunburst finishes from black to green (like this one), or black to blue, pink, purple or turquoise... I used to dream of finishes like that. And as you can see, it works! And yes, Fender occasionally did some wilder bursts, like the signature Bonnie Raitt strat, or the Antigua burst. But most of the time when they choose to do something like that, they tend to take it one or two steps too far. This guitar right here is exactly what I always hoped for as a production offer. I guess you can't have it all (unless......, I know). 😊
Of course this could have been a quiet sale, so thank you for letting us peek in. There is something satisfying and pleasurable in watching an artist like Joe purchasing a guitar that catches his attention and that he plans to take on tour. I hope it brings him creative luck. It looks like it has some songs in it.
Hungry and paranoid! So cool! Thanks for sharing that one, Joe! I hope Norm keeps guitar of the day going, I enjoy it so much and Lemmo is such a good guitarist! Thank all of you so much!
What a treat to have Joe visit the shop and buy yet another guitar! Can't wait to hear him wind that beaut up on stage, all be it from the other side of the world on my computer screen. There's such a good vibe at the shop where well known artists just pop in unexpectedly and make a little magic for us. Got to love it! Good luck to you, Joe, on the coming year, I'm sure we'll be in for a treat. Wishing Norm and the crew all the best too and keep on doing what you do to make all your fans happy! Cheers!
I think that the finish is badass. It would be interesting to hear from the 1970s owner why he chose that colour. A friend has a 60s Burns electric 12 string with a green burst finish... I always thought it looked rad.
Total class move for Joe B. to give props to Eric Gales. If there's a guitar player out there who definitely, 10000%, absolutely long overdue for some love and recognition, its most def Eric Gales. Without a doubt. Give that man his due ! Well done, gentlemen. 👍👍🎶🎶
Saw Joe play this Strat last night at The Fraze. Bonamassa’s collection is astonishing! Ive photographed him playing different guitars over a decade. This green Strat is sweet!
You look & sound Fantastic Norm !! So glad to see you getting back into form again & being your usual self. Joe is always a treat to watch when he shows up & you two begin to banter back & forth . I just wish that just ONCE when I come to your store he or Orianthi or someone else would be jamming on their “ Day off” & get to hang in person there . Nice share & a way cool Strat 👍👍. Thanks again from “ To The REAL Steve Miller “ as you signed in your autobiography to me 😎👍. C-ya hopefully again this year soon . Stay cool all of you at Norm’s 🤞
Rather annoying bloke. I wish he would just play the guitar and stop showing off. He is not that creative. Always a disappointment when he picks up a guitar 🎸.
What a unit that guitar is! There is something about those mint guards that always tickles that nostalgia bone. Since it can't be in my hands, Joe's will do! I'm glad that instrument will be seen and heard all over
You can say what you want about old Strats, but by 1964 they really had the manufacturing down, 1963-1966 are really some of the best ones I've come across in my trading career that goes back to the early 70's.
Damn Lemmo is an amazing guitar player. He’s always been good but I haven’t been to this channel in a long time and he has gotten even better than before.
My first electric Guitar was a vaguely Strat shaped Teisco Del Rey in that exact Green Sunburst color. I never thought I’d see a real Fender with it. Now all you need is a black pickuard with silver flowers on it, and Gold Foil pickups….😆👍
Have a great '23 Norm, you deserve it. Also Joe is just the best!!! If I ever hit the lottery I want him to teach a class on how to find and buy such classic guitars!!!! Joe's is just the best. Hope to see ya on the road soon!!!! 👍🎸
I love the finish on that Strat (but I love green guitars in general, so no surprise there). It looks like it has a nice neck too. J.B. is one lucky son-of-a-gun. 🙃 I also really like Lemmo's rendition of If I Fell. Nice!
Great sounding strat the green goblin, it's also because Michael lemmo is playing it, Michael your a great guitar player been watching norms rare guitars for awhile now, keep going you should be famous

As a fan of guitars from the UK, I concur with everything you said.
"Tough losses"? You didnt know any of those people nor do you really care or lose sleep over it. Whats so "tough" about them dying? Virtual signaling?
💯💯
I love how humble Joe always is. Must be such a cool person to be friends with

Joe and Lemmo in the same GOTD!! Doesn't get any better than that!! Thank you!
Norm is looking good! Makes me happy seeing him do well!
👍👍👍

the amp helps
That's one sweet sounding Strat! And it looks great!
You are 1/2 right
I immediately fell in love with that green burst, I have never seen that on a Strat before and now I need one because REASONS!
Just a shout out for Eric Gales on his nomination, this man deserves to win it for sure 🔥❤👍 Thanks to Joe for mentioning it!
Eric Gales is an incredible musician
Very nice! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Who played at 10:08 and what song. was that?
@@TimTheMusicMan That's Michael Lemmo. Not sure the first song, but the second song was the Beatles' "If I Fell".

Rock on Norm and Jen !!

And of course Joe as well, Joe deserves this guitar and it's great to see norm looking well again
Joe Bonamassa could play 2 strings on a wash bucket, under water, and make it sound amazing. The Man is a pure genius with a guitar in his hands.🎸🙏
So glad to see Norm back to “Norm form” 👍🏼
Incredible but this beauty deserves a full episode with Mike

There is something about the green burst you can tell it has been there for 50 years of course nice tone its a mid 60's strat but vibes for dayssss
Do you know the name of the track being played from 10:05? Such a beautiful melody... The next one is probably "If I fell" 😌
