Thanks for all this information. Johnny has been one of my favorites since 1968. I met him in the Atlanta airport in 69 - just a regular guy, wasn't into being a "rock star." Saw him play many times. Always amazing! RIP Cool Daddy Johnny.
I saw Johnny fifty years ago at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California, and he tore it up. He was unique, even in such a crowded field of guitarists. R.I.P. to the master thumb-picker.
Yes , I can always love some Johnny Winter. I caught Johnny Winters Rockin Performance Show across from Capital Records at The Hollywood Palace . Pure Blues Bliss 🎸
I have seen Johnny and Edgar both several times back in the early 1970’s. I saw Johnny at the House of Blues in the early 2000’s and he had to be escorted out on stage to a chair. Once he got settled in his chair he rocked out just as hard as I remembered him in the 70’s. Amazing guitarist. Rest In Peace Johnny.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Johnny tried making standard pop and soul music on "Saints and Sinners" helped out by brother Edgar and his band. I love that record. He even tried funk on "Feedback on Highway 101".
Been to four jonny winter concerts 2 in Davenport Iowa 2 in Burlington Iowa col ballroom Davenport, capital theater and memorial auditorium Burlington he spoke to me wished me happy birthday signed his last cd for me.
Blues guitar music is boring, antiquated and done to death. Its peak moment was Hendrix playing his song "Red House" at the San Diego Sports Arena in 1968. It's a virtuoso performance that took "blues" to it ultimate end.

FIRST!!...Johnny Winter Kicked Ass!
BIG TIME!
I saw him twice in Montreal. Most young blues players never even heard of him! They know Stevie,Clapton and Hendrix and nobody else beyond that !

Live Johnny Winter literally showed me what "the blues " actually was...
I have ever record all should have been number ones but I guess people would rather buy Journey records😢😢😢😢😢
Johnny Winter died on July 16, 2014 at the age of 70.
I am selling my Johnny Winter record collection on Ebay for a steal price.
What happened to Johnny Winter? He died. What a stupid question.

This has to be the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen
