I'm Scottish and where I come from we tended to pronounce words like Film as " Filum " or Farm as " Farum " - Harm as Harum etc !! Probably a bit exaggerated but I think it obviously varies between different dialects ??
The young blonde haired priest having the breakdown? Kevin McKidd, aka Tommy in Trainspotting, Lucius Vorenus in HBO's Rome and Cooper in Dog Soldiers among loads of other things. Quite a big Hollywood name now.
I've always just heard English people say "film" with one syllable, unlike how we say it with 2 in Ireland. Movies is an Americanism, which has crept in a bit online, but UK English is still film.
I hardly if ever say I'm going to the cinema or going to see a movie I'll more often than not say I'm going to see/watch a film. I'm from Jarrow (Jarra) as we say locally. It's just across the water from Newcastle upon Tyne in the northeast. It's also know as Little Ireland as there's a big Irish decent in this ol' town. There's a documentary about it (on UA-cam ya can find it too). A song I learned from my nanna which she loved (as ya mention the place often, Kildare). The Roads of Kildare, I love singing that, learnt it on guitar when I was 14. When I used to gig I used to sing it in my sets especially Irish nights etc. 👍 Ed
If you want some more Irish comedy I might suggest Soupy Norman, for something that's mad and you can get it on YT, cos they all are. Young Offenders is a great show but no chance getting that on YT.
20:10 that happened to me three times in a row when I was a kid . They were teaching me how to skip stones and I kept hitting some teenagers in their lower back. Let's just say that was the end of the lesson and I was dragged away hastily.
The coffee is better if you don't use a paper filter. Paper absorbs the oil from the coffee which reduces the flavor. Get a reusable filter that you can wash out after each use.
Dude how many times are you gonna ask if that's a 2002 ireland top, even though you know this isn't 90s show??? 😂 I Actually have dougal's top in a drawer somewhere. Its a belter right enough. Love your videos 💜
In the North East England we pronounce film like Ted does!
So glad you've taken this up again! And yes, it was filmed in Dunnes in Ennis, Co Clare.
Can’t believe I actually got it right 🤣

Eddie i noticed you asked the question about the clerical cup been genuine. I take it most people thought it was a rhetorical question.
I'm Irish and I notice the English say some words differently too. They can't, for example, say Doherty without inserting a ck sound before the 'h'.
They also can’t say loch it really annoys me every time they say lock !!!
@@Sandybeaches07Yeah, Sean Loch used to hate that...🥁
Father Ted was one of the best comedies ever , along with Phoenix Nights , and the Uk office, not forgetting Alan Partridge a ha !
So funny 🤣
US office was brilliant, I refuse to watch UK Office
@@mlee6050 I am opposite, but I can’t stand stupid American humour or lack of
Get a coffee machine, bean to cup, honestly you won't go back.

The characters in the opening dream sequence are from another television program, Ballykissangel.

Most of North East England say “film” with 2 syllables

Great show
Weird watching it flipped 😊
Why is the writing backwards? 😅
The dialogue/audio sounds a bit weird and stumbly,
D'you have it playing at 1.25 speed?
