David Dudley has a great video on this topic. When you first hook your plastic you create a channel. Once you slide the bait up towards the top hook bend you must spin worm before pushing up in place. Otherwise you have loosened the channel that actually holds your plastic on the hook. If your soft stick baits are losing their structural integrity because of the keeper bends of the EWG, you can switch to some other hook like a straight shank Owner flipping hook. Or you can drop a dab of loctite before you twist and pull the EWG up to the eyelet of the hook.
