Around 12:30 in this recording, hough has put some parts of his own and somehow almost every other recording sounds empty without those improvisations.
Oh My God. That was the most amazing performance I've ever seen. Immeasurable passion, blinding speed and I'm not sure I've ever heard a piano growl before. Tiffany has outdone herself again as she usually does.
Tiffany you are not only a technically brilliant pianist, but one who enters the heart and soul of the music and the composer capturing all the subtle nuances of the story that it tells. I am so moved by your performances and your interpretation... You bring tears to this old man's eyes. I look forward to following your career.
I just don’t want it to end!!! Tiffany, I hope the audience who watched this was huge, masterpieces like this should be witnessed by as many people as possible.
I neither understood nor cared much for this rhapsody until both suffering a tragic loss and then hearing you play it. The emotion you captured and expressed is indescribable. Thank you! :)
She is magnificent and charming resonance makes me so astonishingly awesome. Thanks for giving me such an adorable and exquisite resonance to me and my husband. .
I'm not too sure that Liszt captured the essence of Spanish music, but Tiffany has certainly captured the essence of Liszt. And I once saw Jorge Bolet, live! Ademàs, es una chica guapisima, con mucho corazon.
What is "Spanish music"? :) Liszt used a dance melody from Aragon (Jota Aragonesa) and an old Spanish ceremonial tune (La Folia) as the basis for much of the piece. He heard this music performed by Spanish musicians in Spain in the 1840s. His inspiration was pretty authentic I would say. He had listened to local musicians in Castilia and Northern Spain - sadly he never made it to Andalusia, I can't even imagine what kind of works would have been sparked by Liszt's encounter with flamenco... The Spanish Rhapsody was written in 1863 - this was a time before the "habanera" was introduced from Cuba to Spain, a lot of what would be deemed stereotypical Spanish music in our day hadn't yet become Spanish at that point.
This is 100% amazing, those notes in this 13 minute piece especially at 9 or 10 minutes those trills are amazing this girl deserves bigger applauses for her playing she doesn't just deserve regular claps, she is heck of a pro.
@@dalcassian8351 Very fair comment. How to appraise Tiffany confuses me, she has found a very different path to prominence. I sometimes wonder whether some of her performances would be frowned upon in a competition. I feel that I have to resort to my own (amateur) judgement; when I do that, I conclude that she is astonishingly good.
This performance is just so beautiful to watch, I had to watch several times. The pure emotion Tiffany pours into this performance has me getting emotional as I watch it. I am in disbelief at how her fingers “dance” over the piano keys so effortlessly. Thanks Tiffany!!
I don't care for Franz Liszt's piano works, but Tiffany's Liszt performances have something that makes them come to unsuspected life, drama and meaningfulness that goes way beyond what I consider "the usual empty razzle and dazzle", and always makes me come back and listen again and again. As somebody else commented, Tiffany certainly has captured the essence of Liszt. I can't agree more!
liszt really isnt just razzle dazzle, i used to think the same before i started to play his music, really some really complex and beautiful harmonies hide behind those fast arpeggios. Also that is a feat in itself, being able to make one piano sound like 3
@@ethanbeatsachmoody8177 Yeah that's a good point. A lot of Liszt's pieces may be established upon the "razzle dazzle" that many musicians seem to focus on, yet there are, at the same time, many beautiful, non-"razzle dazzle" pieces that soothe and console. (pun intended haha!)
What touches me is not only the beautiful music, amazing talent, and excellent performance, but also the unimaginable hard work behind the stage. I can't tell whether it's sweat or tears on Tiffany's face in the end of the performance, but they would be equally touching.
You could see the struggle she went through to master this piece when she makes certain gestures. What an amazing rendition of arguably Liszt’s best musical composition. God I’m so obsessed with this music and how she plays it.
I said I was gonna sleep after watching Tiffany's Teen Vogue video 😂 but here I am again, listening to this sublime performance 👏 Endless admiration for your talent and dedication my dear ♥️
Your emotion just makes it 10 times better! Oh it brings joy to my heart. I just wish I could play with that much emotion!! Well done Tiffany! ENCORE ENCORE!!
YOU SHOULD HAVE OVER ONE MILLION VIEWS FOR THIS. THIS SONG IS FANTASTIC AND IT ALSO LOOKS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PLAY PLUS YOU ARE A TOP NOTCH PIANIST.
I love how a professor tried to explain why you are so good! haha! You are good because Music is your life and you practice. It is that simple. I have to admit though, you are better than most!
She has great virtuosos and some creative idea on some of the passages. One confusion: Seems that she is quite tall, but why does she sit really high in front of the piano? Is there some benefit for some technical reasons?
Binglin Li this is probably due to how sitting higher allows you freedom of movement and was even encouraged during Liszt’s time(if I’m not wrong) to let you “strike” the keys from above, allowing “virtuosity”. However, sitting higher has been, as quoted from Chopin, as giving one virtuosity and not the singing tone of music. Even Glen Gould developed his unique style from a form of “finger-tapping” and sat on a really low chair compared to his height
She feels every key she touches with such a passion that it's unbelievable. I'll never get tired of seeing this performance.
I agree with you!
Liszt, honey---you have got to come down and see this...
+ziv auri How do you know he has to come down and not climb up?

Four pieces, in fact..
11:48 the way those notes ring out is so gorgeous. and the use of that pedal, my god
10:36 to 10:49 is the speed of light. so amazing
That part isn't as hard as it seems; the hands individually don't have to play that fast for it to sound quick. Impressive nevertheless

Yes I agree! Had that part stuck in my head all day!!

There is no 'best' part. It's the musical theory of relativity. Without the lows, no highs, and vice versa. That's what makes music work.

Agree. I've seen a lot of same piece but none brings emotions and joy like Tiffany 🥰
No piano keys were harmed in the making of this production.
XD
😄 But what happened with the millions of mites that surround her and that piano...?
They...
were ruthlessly scared and harmed forever indeed
*coughs nervously* well...
The keys weren't, but the strings were.

The way this women plays the piano is fascinating... You can really tell that she feels every note and this is so beautiful
